Plus, blocks make it so side b is also nerfed. Getting back to stage as incin is also scary cuz of blocks and incin can't really cheese steve. Not saying acola isn't a good player but damn the match up is just so insanely unbalanced

best nerfs for steve: double the time u have to be in minecart/anvil before jumping off, no armor on minecart it just counts as steves hurtbox when he's in it, make uptilt stationary, 0 hp dirt blocks break with any hit, diamond takes twice as long to get but has more durability.
just put some endlag on mining honestly it should be like how pulling a turnip is for peach you need to win neutral and create that space first, then you can decide whether you want to press advantge state or mine resources. rn steve just mines whenever he wants for free.

I know that's not how Minecraft works (at least I don't think it is), but sacrifices to accuracy must be made. I also don't know if that would make the programming even more of a nightmare, because placed blocks would have to check if a block is still below it or not, and adjust the durability value accordingly.
How about you need to have stone to mine iron, iron to mine diamond/gold etc. If you have wood, you can only mine stone and more wood. Make it more accurate to minecraft
Why are people hating on Steve so much for this Summit? Acola is literally using no new tech from last 2 times he was here overseas yet people are now, after having so much time to develop counterplay and adapt, complaining about getting the character banned.
Because Steve completely shits on the way the game is normally played, and disrespects entire characters. There should not be a way to just prevent someone from recovering back to the stage like that.

The player behind the wheel does matter. And then also remember that the Skyjay that got 3- 0'd by a Steve here took the same Kazuya that 3-0'd Leo to final stock of game 5 in the final of Collision a few weeks ago. Matchups just aren't that black and white, and you can't just base that kind of thing off just one or two rounds. Kazuya has a metric ton of DLC factor don't get me wrong, but I'd say the data suggests there is a reason Riddles feels the need to run Terry/Roy secondaries to win tournaments but most Steve players just go solo.

Honestly I love Skyjay and am super sad, but I do have to give it up to acola, he really avoided those Alolan whips and absolutely played the matchup correctly

The blocks just add insult to injury. There were so many jank interactions between Incin and the blocks that just ended up benefitting Steve more.
