This is a simple fix... keep the safe zones how they are... but allow opposing alliances to travel through safezones with units. Can't build or burn villages inside safezones, but can burn bases and fight units. Travel freely.
Hi. It's my idea. Eliminate the safety zone. When your base has been burned, you receive a hospital bubble, which disappears after gaining 100% health of the base
Remove safezones for 24 hours every 3 days (For example), so an enemy can try to take your Settlement. If you are able to defend your settlement for 24 hours, the safezone go´s back up. If the enemy has your settlement, the safezone stays down untill you take back your settlement
I feel like most players of late having focused purely on base to base warfare , was just talking with my clan and we all agree we miss the days of big open battlefields where no one cared for politics you just went and got involved in any fight. We play cause we want to showcase our steel and fight to the death with honor , during battlefield bravery - agree to meet up in open field with what ever units you want and go crazy , everyone has a good time and at the end you and your 3 Allies have it out in the middle with all the other clans to the last man - for honor and glory

Every L4 that we play in , we encourage all clans to have an all out open field fight to the death see who gets to hold Capital , keep the ranged units at home and bring your best tanks and Helis , Everyone will agree it’s a great idea but when it comes to doing it , the turtles and whales don’t join and just sit in their bases due to only having 1 or 2 units they can use cause they pretty much all have SH and ranged units , they don’t want to give up ground or can only play siege and not open field fights , I remember when this game use to be all about open field battles , just tank battles every where , it was chaotic and so much fun , don’t know why all out battle isn’t a thing anymore , all playing it safe and only defending or siege with an AG , most of my guys zero reserves in the first few days , safe zone is meant to be a retreat , recover and reorganize. Ppl are scared to lose units and can’t fight unless the advantage is in their favor , open field battles is what makes this game so much fun , we all want to test our steel and honor every fight , our soldiers long for Valhalla !! strength & Honor to you all warriors o7
there were some good ideas in teh brainstorming talk. frankly, surprise attack loses all value when there is no open area. to keep that feature viable, and the option for a comeback available for late game into ToC, you need to inhibit alliances completion of building territory. How? speed up the conequest, less time to reach certain objective, shorten the ToC duration as you said. Most strong or overpowering alliances aim for all rewards, but do they HAVE TO get them all? if the ToC is shorter, or the opening times of blockhouse fort town and factory and lab are more random, maybe they cant achieve it all one by one, but will hav to prirotize and mor option open for other alliances. The safe zone should open sooner in combination of a reduced ToC time,so if anybody targets settlement rewards, they need to aim for those areas with prirotiy and cant just hog everything map wide
Generally a good idea, for big and strong alliances. Smaller ones wont have the time to complete the missions like alliance reputation, etc. These requirement should then also be adjusted. The toxic language which they practically do not adress in a proper way is also an issue, some alliance dont see why they should bring "joy" to those who call them farmers, weaklings, etc by fighting against them? Its like with attentionwh.res, the easiest thing to not give them is attention, same with those who want to fight but are toxic, easiest way for revench, dont give them what they want, fights.
Until you balance ToC's properly, safe zone should not even be a topic of conversation. 1. The Whales Power needs to be capped at 50% above the Alliance average power. So for example if there are 60 members and in total their average power is 80 million - that 300 million Whale you got on your team? The max power he can bring to ToC is 120 million. Lillith will never do this, because they are greedy and they don't even know how they are killing their own game. I am an R5 and I see tons of spenders quitting the game because their bored of Alliances trapped in safe zones during ToC - no one likes it, and it's killing the game. 2. Let Alliances choose which tier they compete in ToC's - if our Alliance wants to compete in Silver 1 - let us! Silver 3 is up to 1 Billion power / Silver 2 is 1B to 3B / Silver 1 is 3B to 6B / Gold 3 is 6B to 10B etc... That way we can structure our Alliance for what we want and compete against similar power Alliances. 3. Let us migrate for crying out loud. Why do I have to wait 6 months to migrate when I have the tickets? I want to leave a dead Alliance and go play for an active one. Max lock out for migration should be 1 or 2 months. The only lockout we need is on new servers. 4. The system will check your power against the current power of the server. So for example if you are 300 million and you want to migrate from server 40 to 94 - but the highest level player there is only 240 million - for every 50 million over power you are of the existing highest level players - it will add 1 to 2 months to your migration. ie. In this example the Whale would have to wait 3 to 4 months to migrate to that server instead of 1 to 2 months. Anyways these are only idea's - obviously there might be some tweaking - but this imo would go along way to make ToC's more fun, and more balanced.
Need to make a way the big guys fight each other you take the safe zone it will be only (at this time) better for the untouchable. You can already see all the big guys dropping down to gold just to over power
Create something similar to the central plaza in hedgemon where you cant plant bases. Mainly field fighting. Sz should be limited to the first week. After that similar similar style of base when in hedgemon. Up to 50% shield where you can’t get hit. If you feed ags or attack units you lose the shield.
Some alliances are a lot stronger than others and pin smaller alliances in the safe zone ie build right up to their safe zone so they can’t build out the safe zone

opening the safezone sooner wont be changing much . the loosing alliance will just leave the C4 and camp C3. wich would be boring for everyone . I saw a comment stating a zone with no base , only units. i think that's one of the best way to make some C4 entertaning. not having to deal with crazy whale base , or player going full turtle mod is the way to bring back some fun . I hope lilith will think about it. but the safezone is not the problem . the MM is the main problem I think . They need to add more imformation . for example alliance with huge pay2win should not meet some full free2play players. the power of money is way stronger than anything in this game . need a very fair MM and soon.
they should really lower the conquest duration to 2 weeks, and make the conaquest maps shorter. or at least increase the speed of trucks because it takes rediculous amount of time
Bring back full teams. Put a power limit on gold arena. Any player over 500m power is now to strong for gold arena. Give everyone one free server travel pass. Change glory rules that the top 2 servers are now the only glory servers and can not recruit any new players tell another server catches or surpasses them. This will stop top alliances from grabbing all the new players returning to epic. This will also bring new light and even game play to the gold arenas that are now plagued by super powerful whales picking on lower players in gold.
The problem with farmers not willing to be meatshield is: 1. Players playing defensive/ arty oriented tend to have better stats , then they go to chat, look at other players, find for their death rate and go statshaming AKA KDR, if the dev can make an option to hide that stats, farmers will be more willing to contribute. 2. Seriously make dead reserves also count into war machine just like New York city, i don't know why dying is that bad to not get counted but WAR guarantees DEATH, and you saw it in the last L4, all them 40 clowns went pre charge because of this stats, they are obssessed with not dying. 3. Make retraining less painful. I know it might look cheap n shit but hey, 100 reserves are 1mil and 10k are 100mils, and it heavily affects farmer's progress, you're lying if you tell me it doesn't.
Without making matchmaking better and also with the 3 alliances peacetreaty restriction, the safezone will always be an issue. I havent been in a balanced C4 for a long time. There are too many ways to corrupt the matchmaking systems. But yeah thats a problem of smaller players and not gold1+. Also the pushing of turtle playstyle to be the most efficient and easiest way to play the game, isnt helping.
@ghonking There are people (myself included) who have put the focus on Arty and are more likely to do the kills in defence than in the field fight, I play offensively but defensively still brings 90% of all the kills you make, besides, blasting bases is exhausting if you invest little or don't invest anything, the research is far behind of details, you can only have 1 focus at the same time without spending much. it's right that. The turtles are annoying and there should be a way to minimize the game style, but disabling defensive kills is not the right one.

@ghonking I'm also not a whale, my set up is just designed for defending and killing bases, with 2 ARTYS 1 RL 1 ATG and 1 sh/infa it's impossible to survive in the field, one of my alliance is also specialized in field combat, so I know it can be fun, but it's not for me. how to solve the problem of turtles is hard to say, an analysis of every player of Lillith maybe give the turtles de buffs when they're obvious. Turtles are, or the option to report players due to the turtle with the same effect, but there are ways Lillith will have to help without making the defense pointless, because without defense kills you don't need any artys, atg or sh anymore because there would be no point in focusing them anyway.
@@Warpath_deutsch Thats exactly the point, field fighting and killing bases takes a lot of time, resources and reserves, while definding and just standing there takes nothing, but gets the kills and the awards from the killing machine. I dont think that this really a fair thing as it makes people lazy and might lead to a point where there is close to no fighting, because there is no real reason for it, as you dont really get much out of it. And defending with non-arty units is just a joke. So the advise for every newcomer is, focus only on arty, research, units, wrenches, parts, ammunition, officers, etc everything into arty and forget everything else, its useless as defense wins. So only bored players will maybe continue to field fight, but the rest wont do much, maybe except with a massive amount of AGs when they attack.
Cool but first the matcjmaking should be fixed bcs you cant farm and play against whales i usualy am 1st in warmachine but its a pain fighting with an ally wich is older. Maybe Classic battlefield could remove SZ tbh.
Antoni you have to start from the second point which is the matching and the right for weak players not to face stronger, your talk is literally has one meaning , maybe your working for the lilith , so try to focus on the real issue for all players and not only trying to put the weak players in the corner and dont give them any breathing, or we leave this game and you even dont find anyone to attack so you just playing with ravens , means you spend your money to play with bots .

Having a dedicated zone for ground battle. Like the air battle zones in Rome but for ground units so no base to deal with. That would be cool.

Maybe 50% slower collection speed once your base is 100% health
I think the company tried to solve this problem by adding the surprise attack
which they nerfed and also the limit of max 3 peacetreatys and a corrupted matchmaking system for the majority of the C4s (not gold1+)
There are more important issues that need to be addressed first. Preloading Officers Skills on ravens, for destroying bases……

TOC is getting boring. Our opponent just stay in safezone all the time.
