Very entertaining and honest video, Andy! I think that you have captured the essence of what we try to do. When it comes to guitars, we believe that it is all about the feel. And when we hear you say that our Cozy feels so smooth you would like to cuddle up underneath it, we take that as a big compliment. Also want to say; thank you for being honest. We try to learn from the feedback that guitarist who have taken the time to thoroughly review our guitars, provide. And in this case, you have given us some work on the VB model. Clearly, we need to evaluate how to improve the placement of the Duesenberg Trem. Funny thing is that we, like yourself did not notice this when playing the guitar. The guitar plays well. But obviously the tremolo needs to be aligned more accurately. And we will make that happen. Meanwhile we have built and sold close to a hundred Cozy guitars and the overall response is exactly like yours: one of the best playing experiences ever. Hope to see you next year at Guitar Summit! Grts, Paul (Kauffmann Guitars).
Couldn't agree more with your review Andy! As fellow Dutchies we can recommend trying the other Kauffmann's as well, their Paulownia Tele's are a treat to play.
bought a kauffmann 61 reliced strat last year .....best playing ...best set up...best feeling neck on a strat ive ever owned .....tried loads of fender custom shops but just couldn't hand over 6 to 7000 for essentially a fender sticker ...... best 1600 euros ive spent on a guitar......
Thanks Andy for bringing variety and notoriety to showcase these exquisite guitars! The blue Cozy is an amazing guitar. EDIT: At this price range there should not be any flaws in workmanship as there is in these two samples. I quite like to cuddle that and get cozy lol. Thanks for sharing!
I had the pleasure of playing a Cozy TM today and couldn't believe the feel and playability. So light, incredibly resonant and it sounded like a screaming eagle. I'm sold 100% and can't wait to order my very own custom model. But first I will befriend the Kauffmann Les Paul Junior which I purchased… also a stunning guitar. True masters of their craft. Great review, Andy.
I have a very beautiful Kauffmann single cut (L.P.) model with Cream T BFG Banger set of pickups. The body is black Limba body and Mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, and a beautiful bourbon burst finish. It is light too (for a L.P.). It's fit and finish is superb/perfect! It is without a doubt the best playing and sounding single cut I've ever played! So resonant and the Cream-T pickups sound as good or better than my favorite boutique PAF - Wolftone. These are the only pickups that I can say that about. It's my lifetime single-cut..I'm done! :) Now, I wish Kauffmann made a semi-hollow (335 killer) hehe
Currently saving up for my custom order. Fell in love with a cozy over a year ago now that has sadly sold. But this gives me the opportunity to order a completely custom one! very excited!
I really dig the vibe of both of 'em. The neck pickups on both sound pretty good, but I'd probably swap out the bridge pickups for something with a warmer tone. Overall though, I want one!
i can relate to the little faulty details with Kauffmann guitars. i have a '56 S build by Albert according to my preferred specs. It is an amazing guitar, and the most resonant guitar i have ever owned. BUT... it needed a new nut, i had them replace the trem for a better fitting one (spacing did not align with the width of the neck) but after that it plays and still is a great guitar, which i wouldn't sell quickly.
I'd quite like to cuddle that red one. Despite my guitar test experience is far from your 400, I totally understand your adoration. When I chose my one and only super fantastic magic FGN Neo Classic, besides its gorgeous look, it was the Japanese sign on its truss rod cover that I wanted to have instead of "traditional" or "standard" by Gibson. Balance, the sound came only after that :-)
Hi Andy! You can try loosening the neck screws a quarter turn on the red guitar. The string tension might pull the neck so it sits better in the pocket, then you can tighten the neck screws again. And I'd quite like to cuddle that blue one.
Oh boy. Here we go again on the GAS train 🚂 The red one really makes my heart flutter. ❤ pretty interesting that the neck on that has some sort of relicing as well. I was a bit put aback from the distance between the neck pickup and the fretboard, but tonally speaking, the neck pickup might get too wooly if it is pushed further towards the neck! It sounds perfect as is.
The blue one, I`d like to cuddle that! Especially when it`s christmas time everyone needs a hug from time to time. (except those Fakeguitargeeks from some message place!)
So glad you reviewed these, really attention getting. I like what they're doing, a few things to fix but nothing that bad that can't be remedied. They should find their own headstock shape to keep their own identity.
It seems you are a tall guy, how is this guitar comfort wise for you when standing. For example, I am tall as well and I prefer an sg or 335 when standing as the neck is positioned more to the left than with a strat. With the latter I am all cramped up when playing higher than the 12th fret, not so with former 2 guitars. A tele is reasonable as is a les Paul.
Great review. I discovered the Kauffmann guitars recently and bought a S-style guitar. Absolutely love that guitar! But I’d be more than happy to cuddle that red beauty 😍

Discovered the Cozy in the beginning of this year and was able to buy one in april. Super review which i can only agree with, great guitars 🥰
They look and sound absolutely beautiful, but i wouldn't go so far as to say a completely original design, they look very much like Novo's
These are great. Really great. Could be interesting to see them make the red one semi hollow as an option.
Currently saving up for my custom order. Fell in love with a cozy over a year ago now that has sadly sold. But this gives me the opportunity to order a completely custom one! very excited!
The red one looks great but I like to cuddle that stunning looking blue one.
Glad to see the blue getting some love!
Looking very novo-esque. Wow those are so light! You’re right about the red one. So juicy!
Very much so but this is more rounded.
I didn’t even notice the neck humbucker being further away from the neck. I wonder how this would affect the sound or anything 🤔
Love the blue love ,
😊the look of the red

Thanks Alan, Maybe Kauffmann Guitars can do it when they receive the guitars back
They look and sound amazing! I'd play one of those! I'd quite like to cuddle that.

Sound wise, with blues to rock, these sound superb
It seems to be great and pretty guitars, but wouldn't that be horrible traces of file in the fingerboard at the edges of the frets at 4:50 ?

Interesting you say the headstock is too Fender-y, but I feel it's more a nod to proper old Bigsby headstocks. 😏
I see the Bigsby-ness of it but if you asked the average guitar player what that looks like, i bet my CS Strat that most would say Fender.
I´d love to see Tonfuchs Guitars.
Red of course - I’d quite like to cuddle that.
"I'd quite like to cuddle that" - my cat looking at the throw pillows on the couch
That’s why they are called cozy!
If I get my new job...I think I may have to get me one..
Very nice but way out of my price range. I love the Red one as its the right colour and Id quite love to cuddle that!
I'd like to cuddle the Cozy that reminds me of Brian May's guitar
It is very much like the old lady!
Oh btw, I’d quite like to cuddle with both those guitars. Maybe the red one a bit more…
Me too. Oh wait, the blue one is also nice… Arrrgh
I like the blue cos I love p90s do you get to keep them?
