Thank you, this means a lot to me. As I was working on this video at times I didn't feel like it, I did the 15 minutes things and every time I ended up working for a few hours. I think a lot of it is just setting up and starting and then the momentum carries us forward. Good luck with things.
Very clear and sober analysis. Straight to the point and no fluff. Personally, I had both parents. Sometimes they were strict, sometimes they were relaxed, and sometimes they were nearly absent for long periods. They were loving parents, doing their best, but very inconsistent in regards to discipline. I struggle a lot with self-motivation and executive function. I may try both methods and see which works best. Thank you!
Yes! I didn't cover this in the video, but sometimes we have a mix; one parent is strict, and the other is easier. Plus, your parents were not consistent and sometimes absent. That is a lot for a child to navigate. Good for you for working on this. I had to reparent myself. The journey is not always easy, but it's very rewarding.
It's so good to hear this resonates with you. To answer your question, this goes back to something that really impacted me. I had an extreme case of fear of public speaking. I had to lead a session in front of many people, and I was so nervous. I was doing therapy at the time, and she said to me that I needed to have a warrior voice inside and Steele myself. It worked so well. Later, I realized that my inner voice was always soft, letting me off the hook and soothing me, just like my parents were around discipline. Changing to a strong voice helped. This means if you have something to achieve, say to yourself - GET OFF THE COUCH AND DO 15 MINUTES ! Then do f'n 15 minutes. Give yourself a reward. Later on, do it again until you get the result you set. The 15-minute video helped me edit it. Out of curiosity, were your parents strict or easy around discipline?
Oh, they were overly strict. No wonder! I find it helps to choose goals that I really care about so then the self-discipline develops so I can create the results that I want.
I like this. Great points. And your voice is very calming.
Needed this desperately and the algorithm blessed me with it. Thanks for the video, was very informative and quick too!

This video resonated with me more than any other I've seen on this topic. Could you elaborate more on what it means to be action and result oriented?

Good strategy. Sometimes, we have to do goals we don't want to do; this is where relearning how to be around discipline helps.
