I am not sure they can do too much to the top half of the character because clothing items are already struggling with warping issues! However Star Stable has heard our wishes and knows that skinnier types are wanted :)
If that's the skinniest body type than I'm screwed. I'm tiny irl and I have a super fast metabolism. I'd love to see some smaller body types as well as muscular bodies as well, horse girls are fit af!

the sso team said that in the beta testing, only one body type will be avalible now. that doesn’t mean it’s gonna be like that when they release it officially.
yeah having diverse set of options is not about only having bigger body types but smaller aswell. Also i'm a little worried that the current set of bodies are either upper heavy or lower heavy which leaves out people with hourglass or straight body types.
I don’t mind the new characters but they still look just as dead inside as our old characters lol. Plus, our old characters were kinda unique. If you saw our old characters you would immediately know that they were from sso. Now they’re too basic imo. I also think there should be an option to choose nose, skinnier body types, boob size, lighter skin colors etc. They were kinda lacking in that tbh. It’s just my opinion tho🤷🏻♀️

I like the body types, its just the clothing doesnt like really good, and like i know people that are kinda more skinny, and my opinion is, there should maybe be more skinnier body types. It looks different but a weird good different, I kinda wish they had skinner body types tho. Like the bigger ones are good so other people can make their ocs like themselves but, I didn’t see a body type that’s skinny like me, would be nice to keep the original skinnyness of the characters too as an option

Im in shock! 100,000 SC is a lot! I also want them to add a skinnier body type. Because some people have super high metabolisms like myself. None of these fit me. I know they won’t be able to cater to everyone but i really hope they do add one.
and they're all really short too, so not a win for the tall, skinny girls (or guys) this time around I guess, but I know they'll be adding more stuff so🤞one day we might get a model that actually fits a lot of us
I was hoping there was like an individual customizing option for the nose, eyes, lips etc. Not just a couple of different face types. So you can be completely unique.
I think it's clear they want to work on animations together with the beta testers. That's the only logical explanation as to why 90% of the animations have stayed the same/are missing. At least I hope so. If they end up only changing the models, but not the animations too, that will be the biggest flop in the history of SSO.
i’m honestly dreading this update 😭 firstly because i’m attached to our current characters lol, but more importantly due to the fact that there aren’t any slim body types. like most people are saying, a lot of us are active horse girls who are slender and fit irl-none of those body types seem to offer that tbh. nevertheless thank you so much for making this video ❤️
I love the updated face and how the makeup and hair fit, hopefully they edit a few of the hair styles so they dont look so "wet". I dont like the body types at all, I think they definitely need skinnier body types, a slider type option would probably be better, so we can physically change the body, shoulders, legs, instead of having to chose from like 6. The jump animation needs work, it doesnt look any different and looks very stiff and cardboard like.
Great ideas! I however think that the way Star Stables animation system works is say different to the sims 4 where sliders are an option. I would absolutely LOVE to see some thinner body types and Star Stable has seen and heard us saying this :) We can all dream for slider customization haha!

I am really confused about some Things becouse these are HUGE changes. I am a tiny bit dissapointed in how little of the bodytype you can actually costumise. I really hope There Will be thinner bodytypes becouse this character does not represent me at all. I am a big fan of the hair, though i am confused what old hairstyles are the New ones.
I agree, especially being able to change curves, ribcage. I understand they r focusing on doing thicker body types since the old characters were very thin but I still hope they make more body types with more freedom to customise different parts of the body
I'm really interested to see what they did with the mongrel half loc - half straight hair styles (that were in governers fall/Jarlaheim I think?) the plait/braid makes me so happy tho, as someone with long hair that is usually in a plait...😭🥰
I really hope they add more skintones... More facetypes, and more body types, it's looking really lackluster at the moment but let's be patient and hope some improvements get done
The way the characters keep turning while you edit them makes me think of CAS in The Sims 🤣🤣 The characters look better than I was expecting - they seem very fluid too. Even though it’s a beta test, everything looks so pretty, bugs and all! You can tell the team put a LOT into the new characters. I’m keen to see what else they will add to them :D Edit: I can already see late-night global chat being more enthusiastic about eating toes now that the characters actually have some

yep. They're trying to look sooo damn inclusive so that people will praise them more, but they're forgetting that being inclusive means including skinny body types as well. I'm a very skinny person and no, i dont want to play as a character with thicker body type. Call me whatever you want but i have the right to want the character look more like me.

Huh? I mean, “worn on a cereal box”… that’s a lot of players’ actual body types. Not everyone is going to “have a waist” haha And the clothes are certainly still a work in progress, it’s most likely going to take them a while to update every piece of clothing to the avatar.

DUDE- A SITTING TROT OMG, THIS IS NOT A DRILL. Anyway, I wish we could choose more. Like nose size, breast size, eye size, etc. Kinda like the Sims 3 or 4 (I would be okay with it being either one.)
I feel like there defiantly needs to be skinnier bodies types, and it would be nice if they upped the chest size little since not everyone is that flat. Even if you could choose the bust size it might be better for being inclusive. And I just feel like they look a bit frumpy and short, kind of like children compared to the soul riders. I was hopping our characters would be more like the soul riders, as they all have really nice face shapes, body shapes and sizes, and heights, etc. And they all seem to have bigger eyes with there faces seeming more fun and cartoony rather than blank, soulless, and dull like the updated ones. The faces just feel kinda off, they just feel a bit off and I can’t quit put my finger on it. Maybe it’s just I feel like they could look a little more ‘cartoony’ with bigger eyes like the soul riders? I don’t know they just look kind of, “bland.” It just doesn’t really feel like it fits in with the game. I just very much dislike the new characters art style. They just look like npc’s and it would have been nice for them to stand out a little more and blend in with the main characters (That being the soul riders and dark riders) since our characters are technically ‘main characters/soul riders’ I think it would also be really smart to be able to choose different nose and eye shapes separately. Or at least add more options where the nose bridge is more subtle/smaller as some people have smaller noses. And I still feel like there should be more skin colors, both lighter and darker.
You know, I am going to miss our old characters so so so much. Its great and all that they can do this but another piece of nostalgia is going to get lost😢

I don’t like how there’s not really any skinnier options. They said they were being more inclusive when creating these updated characters yet it seems they forgot about thinner types. Also, I don’t like how the mouth looks like it’s always open, and the bodies look a bit disproportionate. I get that it’s a beta but… Idk, hopefully it’ll look better during launch but who knows. Great video tho!
Personal thoughts as of now: 1) I think the characters look a tad to big on most the horses. Just scale wise. 2) As many people have said, more skinny body types. Scale would be good where you can slide for different types. I don’t think sso could do specifics like what some people want. For example they couldn’t adjust shoulder size vs wait size vs hip size. They would have too much trouble fitting the clothing. But hourglass bodies in a sliding bar up to larger bodies would be good. 3) I’m happy about the updated hairstyles. As someone with short boyish hair it’s nice to see an updated version. I still wish to have more short hair varieties and colors though 4) The skin colors were cool but once again I feel like just having a sliding bar to color pick would be easier and more accurate for a lot of us. I am very, very pale and most video games lightest color is pink. 5) I think on “characters looking dead” is going to be hard. Most video game characters look dead inside because they are. They’re pixels. It’s very hard to emulate human expressions and facial movements. I do wish the went with a more calm and content resting face though.
It's absolutely amazing how more plus sized body types are being included and welcomed into the SSO community. However, as someone with a slimmer/ hourglass figure irl and in game, I and I'm sure many other people would really appreciate it if more body types along the lines of hourglass and slimer figures were added so there is more of a variety. Again, really happy about the inclusivity with the new body types so far, but star stable, if you see this, please add some more body types!!

I thought about this too. People purposefully picking the biggest size and being super mean about it. Like dressing them weird with like clown makeup or something. I definitely see it happening by someone.
I'm disappointed that my current sso haircut is now a karen cut. I chose the short hair hair with a longer side on the side of the head. It looked kinda like a half-shaved head, and now it looks nothing like it. Hope they will someday release a short hairstyle that isn't a Bob cut or karen cut..
there is another one similar to that in the game! I am working on showing all hair styles coming out in a few days :) I wanted to stagger my content so i hope that is okay!!
I actually quite like the characters now. The fact they look “realistic” in a way is better than the characters we have at the minute but it would be nicer if we had emotions 😂 The run animation is so cute though
I love the knew characters and i know star stable worked hard on them but i feel like they weren’t as inclusive with slimmer body types. But i got to say the hair is gorgeous 😊
It was fun seeing your raw reaction to the new characters. I hope people can be decent and kind and maybe consider the fact that the devs probably bled to make this happen. It is an old game with an old engine.
I think they came out really good however I do hope they work on a trot animation and on the lenght of the stirrups. As an english rider it seems very off to me and I really wish they could make the legs a bit more angeled? It just seems weird for me. They are very stiff and the shoulders are also weird. They seem so small. Another thing is that I really wish for skinnier body types and curves. Our current character has curves and I get they want to represent more but then they can't forget the skinny riders. Many horse girls including me are rather slim and would like to be represented that way too. Also the jumping animation needs a lot of work aswell as the wiggly torso. It just doesn't look natural.
They really need to add more body types. We need some feminine hour glass shapes and slimmer options. The current torso looks like that of a child, which just seems really weird considering our avatar is supposed to be the same age as the Soul Riders, who are young adults. They've added bulk in a way that looks more like a sack of potatoes, than actual womanly curves. The running animation need work. The ridden animations need a lot of work too.. the riders legs seem to be very straight and stiff. It looks especially bad in the faster paces. I don't understand why they stand up so high in the stirrups and don't take a forward seat. It looks really odd. The hips moving /rocking the way they do during the walk is odd.. might look nice during a sitting trot though. Same for her shoulders.. there's too much movement. I would also like to have the rider's idle animations toned down. Just seems like she fidgets too much. I really like the new hair though!
So I’m excited for the final version, especially after (hopefully) they take tester feedback and make stuff like skinnier body types. However I do feel like there’s a LOT to be worked on. (However, I’m remembering that the game is still a W.I.P and is not done yet.) Fingers crossed, and I’m very excited for the finished version! Awesome to see the progress so far!
The fact that sims modders who work for free can do more than the people employed at SSO begs the question of whether it really was a good idea to stick with their engine
It’s only the first day of beta and I’m excited to see how they change the player models from here on out. I will say: The rider looks way too big for the saddle lol. She’s almost, like, falling out of it. I hope they fix that and the movement animations in the saddle. I’m a little sad we won’t post trot anymore but perhaps they’re still working on that (or can maybe just do a sitting trot with the western / dressage saddles and post trot with the English saddles. That’d be cool) I hope they change the characters some more bc I agree with everyone else: you can make curvy body shapes without them looking frumpy. I think the clothes could fit them in a better way that’s flattering and ultimately I think that is what’s kind of downing the body shapes they have. I saw somewhere else that people were talking and they said it’s all triangle or pear shaped bodies when curvy bodies can also be hourglass body types. Regardless I’m excited to see how they take the feedback that’s being given by the community and if they listen and try to accommodate everyone the best they can. The biggest thing I’ve been seeing across platforms is hourglass shapes. Again, you can make flattering curvy bodies.

I hear what you say and agree with you to some extent. I just think you need to give it time. We've been used to our current avatar for years, so of course it's weird to see at first. But it's clear that there's not as much customisation and body types as I hoped. From the way they advertised it, I thought you'd be able to customize the eyes, nose, mouth, etc separately 😕 I absolutely love my current character and the way she looks, so I'm worried it won't be the same after the update, but I'm willing to give time Remember that this is only a beta

I really like the new shorter hairstyles. For our old characters there weren’t many new ones that didn’t look feminine. I get it, it’s a female character but I think a lot of people appreciate something a little more unisex. I agree that we should have some skinnier body types but otherwise, well done sso I think the outcome will be awesome!

they're looking really nice! in further videos you make on the beta test, could you try out things with all the different body types and stuff ? it seems most beta testers just make their character and call it a day and play as normal but i feel like you'll all find way more possible glitches and bugs by testing with all the body types and faces rather than just one.
I think some of y’all in the comments are forgetting this is still a work in progress lol. They won’t be out for a while still, the whole point of a closed beta is to offer suggestions. I’m sure they’re hearing all about the body types, expressions, etc., and it won’t even be finalized with the public update :) no worries

I am happy to have new body types! I am a person with bigger hips but a small waist with wide shoulders. When I was younger my character always being stick thin made me feel very insecure about my weight. To the point where I had a eating disorder so it makes me feel like I'm being represented instead of being forced to be represented by a character that is 50lbs lighter than me. I understand that this is beta testing and they will add skinny body types but I just hope that people that are skinny don't go through the same thing I did and feel comfortable with their character. I also don't like that on other platforms people are getting mad that there isn't smaller bodies yet and are acting like the haven't be represented for the past 11 years.🤷♀️

I wish they allowed us to pick face shape, nose and eye shape seperately for more customisation. Oh and toggle head turn, for our character cus I hate when they constantly move omg it takes so much longer to customise your character and in the end they dont look like you wanted them to. With characters more detailed now, they could add jewelery as well, like earrings, lots of bracelets, maybe socks, knee high, 3/4 etc. I also hope they animate pulling on the reigns, left, right and such because it always bothers me that the character doesnt do that even though they move.
Hair in most cases looks GREAT! Body types are still not perfect. It feels like the model has an old skeleton, on top of which a new carcass is attached?? The weight is somehow unevenly distributed. The plumpest one looks very strange - as if sliders were installed for the Sims 4 for an unrealistic hyperbolized proportion. Mb that's because ot the skeleton.. shoulders just don't look right. And also I preferably want a slimmer type of body to be added. But I like that after eight years I spent in the game, it began to change at least that way. It can be seen that the animations are unprocessed and the work with the hands anim hasn't yet begun, but they will fix it, of course. I like how fresh the model looks together with the horse! Somehow it's change the whole game looks. I would like even more customization options in the future 🤔 For example, the ability to change all facial features separately. More accessories and slots for them, piercing, makeup. Choosing a permanent emotion on the character's face (or a palette of one similar emotion). Like smirk, sadness, furrowed brows /evil/, etc. To add more personality But this step IS a big step in the direction of diversity. I don't even though that there will be brows options. Also, my friend and I noticed that the character looks like... well, like a child. In my head, the main character seemed older. And for some reason she doesn't seem to be the same age as four Soul Riders (WHERES MA BOOBIES!!) Not to mention that according to my own lore, a total f****d-up is happening in the universe and the main plot is NOT. FOR. CHILDREN!! But this is just my problem I guess lmao Waiting for the big update and thank you! 🥴
there’s so many bad things and even though starstable is having players beta test it still makes me scared they’re not going to listen to any of the critiques because they like never listen
I’m scared too but tbh sso has been way more open in the past couple years to diversity, inclusion, etc. and it seems they really do want the best for these characters! In their blog they did mention it will take a lot of time to really perfect the models though. It’s not going to happen all at once. What with animations, warping everything to fit, etc.
Hey Cass! I highly recommend filtering comments a little bit more on this video, some stuff is getting really concerning and fatphobic. I can definitely sympathize with the critiques of wanting more body types but the ways people are expressing these opinions are coming off very aggressive and body negative. (All the "In IRL fat people can't ride horses" comments, as well as some calls to pro-ana culture, etc...) This is a game, and a game for children! The only thing missing from the character lineup in terms of body type are things that already have TONS of representation in other games, and perpetuate harm and poor body image towards young girls, who are the primary demographic for Star Stable. Expressing dissatisfaction is one thing, bragging about being thin in a comment section that is shaming a game for having larger bodies is another.
Im really happy that they added so you dont have to wear makeup but im sad that they dont have skinnier body types. Also you can let them know that the legs arent long enough to reach the stirrups
We need curvy. Like a proper womanly hourglass figure with a smaller waist, breasts, and hips. My problem with these girls is that we all look like frumpy shapeless 10 year olds. Our characters are supposed to be 14-18, respectively. None of those are how I was shaped at that age!!! I mean shoot, I had d cups at 13 😂 like, ugh. I know these are a work in progress but honestly, I hope there aren't released until Christmas. They need A LOT of work.
As a fellow human on the earth that has hour glass body shape I totally agree on that. Like no hate to sso since they're doing such a great job on the new characters, and it's going to take a long time to create new characters since the clothes has to match the new body shapes and other stuff like that. I really wish they would make unnatural skin tones too, such as white, green, blue, etc. I could totally see myself making my character pale white, putting on the vampire makeup and the elf ears and pretending to be a vampire on Halloween. I also really wish they would separate the face parts so that you can choose each separately (choose nose, eyes, mouth, etc). Lighter skin tones, vitiligo, albinism, white lashes, etc (and maybe even teeth customization? It’s weird, but I’m getting into the vampire vibes lol). Oh, and definitely bulky/ripped characters, like Sabine. I want to be a strong gym bro 😎
I actually agree, something about them is just off.. though I do like the hairs. The character just feels bigger than the last one in terms of height so now it looks too tall for some of the horses like the thoroughbred

I also want them to add a skinnier body type. Because some people have super high metabolisms like myself. None of these fit me. I know they won’t be able to cater to everyone but i really hope they do add one.

I was hoping there was like an individual customizing option for the nose, eyes, lips etc. Not just a couple of different face types. So you can be completely unique.
I think it's clear they want to work on animations together with the beta testers. That's the only logical explanation as to why 90% of the animations have stayed the same/are missing. At least I hope so. If they end up only changing the models, but not the animations too, that will be the biggest flop in the history of SSO.

i’m honestly dreading this update 😭 firstly because i’m attached to our current characters lol, but more importantly due to the fact that there aren’t any slim body types. like most people are saying, a lot of us are active horse girls who are slender and fit irl-none of those body types seem to offer that tbh. nevertheless thank you so much for making this video ❤️
I love the updated face and how the makeup and hair fit, hopefully they edit a few of the hair styles so they dont look so "wet".
I dont like the body types at all, I think they definitely need skinnier body types, a slider type option would probably be better, so we can physically change the body, shoulders, legs, instead of having to chose from like 6. The jump animation needs work, it doesnt look any different and looks very stiff and cardboard like.
Great ideas! I however think that the way Star Stables animation system works is say different to the sims 4 where sliders are an option. I would absolutely LOVE to see some thinner body types and Star Stable has seen and heard us saying this :) We can all dream for slider customization haha!

I am really confused about some Things becouse these are HUGE changes. I am a tiny bit dissapointed in how little of the bodytype you can actually costumise. I really hope There Will be thinner bodytypes becouse this character does not represent me at all. I am a big fan of the hair, though i am confused what old hairstyles are the New ones.
I agree, especially being able to change curves, ribcage. I understand they r focusing on doing thicker body types since the old characters were very thin but I still hope they make more body types with more freedom to customise different parts of the body
I'm really interested to see what they did with the mongrel half loc - half straight hair styles (that were in governers fall/Jarlaheim I think?) the plait/braid makes me so happy tho, as someone with long hair that is usually in a plait...😭🥰

The characters look better than I was expecting - they seem very fluid too. Even though it’s a beta test, everything looks so pretty, bugs and all! You can tell the team put a LOT into the new characters. I’m keen to see what else they will add to them :D

So I would suggest that sso adds a waist to the characters so doesn't look so bulky because the clothes look like they are worn on a cereal box.

And the clothes are certainly still a work in progress, it’s most likely going to take them a while to update every piece of clothing to the avatar.

DUDE- A SITTING TROT OMG, THIS IS NOT A DRILL. Anyway, I wish we could choose more. Like nose size, breast size, eye size, etc. Kinda like the Sims 3 or 4 (I would be okay with it being either one.)
I feel like there defiantly needs to be skinnier bodies types, and it would be nice if they upped the chest size little since not everyone is that flat. Even if you could choose the bust size it might be better for being inclusive.
And I just feel like they look a bit frumpy and short, kind of like children compared to the soul riders. I was hopping our characters would be more like the soul riders, as they all have really nice face shapes, body shapes and sizes, and heights, etc. And they all seem to have bigger eyes with there faces seeming more fun and cartoony rather than blank, soulless, and dull like the updated ones.
The faces just feel kinda off, they just feel a bit off and I can’t quit put my finger on it. Maybe it’s just I feel like they could look a little more ‘cartoony’ with bigger eyes like the soul riders? I don’t know they just look kind of, “bland.” It just doesn’t really feel like it fits in with the game. I just very much dislike the new characters art style. They just look like npc’s and it would have been nice for them to stand out a little more and blend in with the main characters (That being the soul riders and dark riders) since our characters are technically ‘main characters/soul riders’
I think it would also be really smart to be able to choose different nose and eye shapes separately. Or at least add more options where the nose bridge is more subtle/smaller as some people have smaller noses.
And I still feel like there should be more skin colors, both lighter and darker.
You know, I am going to miss our old characters so so so much. Its great and all that they can do this but another piece of nostalgia is going to get lost😢

I don’t like how there’s not really any skinnier options. They said they were being more inclusive when creating these updated characters yet it seems they forgot about thinner types. Also, I don’t like how the mouth looks like it’s always open, and the bodies look a bit disproportionate. I get that it’s a beta but… Idk, hopefully it’ll look better during launch but who knows. Personal thoughts as of now:
1) I think the characters look a tad to big on most the horses. Just scale wise.
2) As many people have said, more skinny body types. Scale would be good where you can slide for different types. I don’t think sso could do specifics like what some people want. For example they couldn’t adjust shoulder size vs wait size vs hip size. They would have too much trouble fitting the clothing. But hourglass bodies in a sliding bar up to larger bodies would be good.
3) I’m happy about the updated hairstyles. As someone with short boyish hair it’s nice to see an updated version. I still wish to have more short hair varieties and colors though
4) The skin colors were cool but once again I feel like just having a sliding bar to color pick would be easier and more accurate for a lot of us. I am very, very pale and most video games lightest color is pink.
5) I think on “characters looking dead” is going to be hard. Most video game characters look dead inside because they are. They’re pixels. It’s very hard to emulate human expressions and facial movements. I do wish the went with a more calm and content resting face though.
It's absolutely amazing how more plus sized body types are being included and welcomed into the SSO community. However, as someone with a slimmer/ hourglass figure irl and in game, I and I'm sure many other people would really appreciate it if more body types along the lines of hourglass and slimer figures were added so there is more of a variety. Again, really happy about the inclusivity with the new body types so far, but star stable, if you see this, please add some more body types!!

I'm disappointed that my current sso haircut is now a karen cut. I chose the short hair hair with a longer side on the side of the head. It looked kinda like a half-shaved head, and now it looks nothing like it. Hope they will someday release a short hairstyle that isn't a Bob cut or karen cut..
there is another one similar to that in the game! I am working on showing all hair styles coming out in a few days :) I wanted to stagger my content so i hope that is okay!!

I think they came out really good however I do hope they work on a trot animation and on the lenght of the stirrups. As an english rider it seems very off to me and I really wish they could make the legs a bit more angeled? It just seems weird for me. They are very stiff and the shoulders are also weird. They seem so small. Another thing is that I really wish for skinnier body types and curves. Our current character has curves and I get they want to represent more but then they can't forget the skinny riders. Many horse girls including me are rather slim and would like to be represented that way too. Also the jumping animation needs a lot of work aswell as the wiggly torso. It just doesn't look natural.
there definitely needs to be an option to 'freeze' the character to make creating so much better

They really need to add more body types. We need some feminine hour glass shapes and slimmer options.
The current torso looks like that of a child, which just seems really weird considering our avatar is supposed to be the same age as the Soul Riders, who are young adults.
They've added bulk in a way that looks more like a sack of potatoes, than actual womanly curves.
The running animation need work.
The ridden animations need a lot of work too.. the riders legs seem to be very straight and stiff.
It looks especially bad in the faster paces. I don't understand why they stand up so high in the stirrups and don't take a forward seat. It looks really odd.
The hips moving /rocking the way they do during the walk is odd.. might look nice during a sitting trot though.
Same for her shoulders.. there's too much movement.
I would also like to have the rider's idle animations toned down. Just seems like she fidgets too much.
I really like the new hair though!
So I’m excited for the final version, especially after (hopefully) they take tester feedback and make stuff like skinnier body types. However I do feel like there’s a LOT to be worked on. (However, I’m remembering that the game is still a W.I.P and is not done yet.)

The hair updates are sooooo good!! I don’t like that they changed the starter one because it’s oh but whatever. The braid is EVERYTHING!!
It’s only the first day of beta and I’m excited to see how they change the player models from here on out. I will say: The rider looks way too big for the saddle lol. She’s almost, like, falling out of it. I hope they fix that and the movement animations in the saddle. I’m a little sad we won’t post trot anymore but perhaps they’re still working on that (or can maybe just do a sitting trot with the western / dressage saddles and post trot with the English saddles. That’d be cool) I hope they change the characters some more bc I agree with everyone else: you can make curvy body shapes without them looking frumpy. I think the clothes could fit them in a better way that’s flattering and ultimately I think that is what’s kind of downing the body shapes they have. I saw somewhere else that people were talking and they said it’s all triangle or pear shaped bodies when curvy bodies can also be hourglass body types. Regardless I’m excited to see how they take the feedback that’s being given by the community and if they listen and try to accommodate everyone the best they can. The biggest thing I’ve been seeing across platforms is hourglass shapes. Again, you can make flattering curvy bodies.

I hear what you say and agree with you to some extent. I just think you need to give it time. We've been used to our current avatar for years, so of course it's weird to see at first.
But it's clear that there's not as much customisation and body types as I hoped. From the way they advertised it, I thought you'd be able to customize the eyes, nose, mouth, etc separately 😕 I absolutely love my current character and the way she looks, so I'm worried it won't be the same after the update, but I'm willing to give time

I really like the new shorter hairstyles. For our old characters there weren’t many new ones that didn’t look feminine. I get it, it’s a female character but I think a lot of people appreciate something a little more unisex. I agree that we should have some skinnier body types but otherwise, well done sso I think the outcome will be awesome!

in further videos you make on the beta test, could you try out things with all the different body types and stuff ? it seems most beta testers just make their character and call it a day and play as normal but i feel like you'll all find way more possible glitches and bugs by testing with all the body types and faces rather than just one.
I think some of y’all in the comments are forgetting this is still a work in progress lol. They won’t be out for a while still, the whole point of a closed beta is to offer suggestions. I’m sure they’re hearing all about the body types, expressions, etc., and it won’t even be finalized with the public update :) no worries

I am happy to have new body types! I am a person with bigger hips but a small waist with wide shoulders. When I was younger my character always being stick thin made me feel very insecure about my weight. To the point where I had a eating disorder so it makes me feel like I'm being represented instead of being forced to be represented by a character that is 50lbs lighter than me. I understand that this is beta testing and they will add skinny body types but I just hope that people that are skinny don't go through the same thing I did and feel comfortable with their character. I also don't like that on other platforms people are getting mad that there isn't smaller bodies yet and are acting like the haven't be represented for the past 11 years.🤷♀️

I wish they allowed us to pick face shape, nose and eye shape seperately for more customisation. Oh and toggle head turn, for our character cus I hate when they constantly move omg it takes so much longer to customise your character and in the end they dont look like you wanted them to. With characters more detailed now, they could add jewelery as well, like earrings, lots of bracelets, maybe socks, knee high, 3/4 etc. I also hope they animate pulling on the reigns, left, right and such because it always bothers me that the character doesnt do that even though they move.

Hair in most cases looks GREAT! Body types are still not perfect. It feels like the model has an old skeleton, on top of which a new carcass is attached?? The weight is somehow unevenly distributed. The plumpest one looks very strange - as if sliders were installed for the Sims 4 for an unrealistic hyperbolized proportion. Mb that's because ot the skeleton.. shoulders just don't look right. And also I preferably want a slimmer type of body to be added. But I like that after eight years I spent in the game, it began to change at least that way. It can be seen that the animations are unprocessed and the work with the hands anim hasn't yet begun, but they will fix it, of course. I like how fresh the model looks together with the horse! Somehow it's change the whole game looks.
I would like even more customization options in the future 🤔
For example, the ability to change all facial features separately. More accessories and slots for them, piercing, makeup. Choosing a permanent emotion on the character's face (or a palette of one similar emotion). Like smirk, sadness, furrowed brows /evil/, etc. To add more personality But this step IS a big step in the direction of diversity. I don't even though that there will be brows options.
Also, my friend and I noticed that the character looks like... well, like a child. In my head, the main character seemed older. And for some reason she doesn't seem to be the same age as four Soul Riders (WHERES MA BOOBIES!!) Not to mention that according to my own lore, a total f****d-up is happening in the universe and the main plot is NOT. FOR. CHILDREN!! But this is just my problem I guess lmao

I’m scared too but tbh sso has been way more open in the past couple years to diversity, inclusion, etc. and it seems they really do want the best for these characters!
In their blog they did mention it will take a lot of time to really perfect the models though. It’s not going to happen all at once. What with animations, warping everything to fit, etc.

Hey Cass! I highly recommend filtering comments a little bit more on this video, some stuff is getting really concerning and fatphobic.
I can definitely sympathize with the critiques of wanting more body types but the ways people are expressing these opinions are coming off very aggressive and body negative.
(All the "In IRL fat people can't ride horses" comments, as well as some calls to pro-ana culture, etc...) This is a game, and a game for children!
The only thing missing from the character lineup in terms of body type are things that already have TONS of representation in other games, and perpetuate harm and poor body image towards young girls, who are the primary demographic for Star Stable. Expressing dissatisfaction is one thing, bragging about being thin in a comment section that is shaming a game for having larger bodies is another.
They said the models will be inclusive but only to plus size people? Giving the same vibes as them ignoring all their male and non-binary players

As a fellow human on the earth that has hour glass body shape I totally agree on that. Like no hate to sso since they're doing such a great job on the new characters, and it's going to take a long time to create new characters since the clothes has to match the new body shapes and other stuff like that. Absolutely impressed on all the work sso has put in.

I really wish they would make unnatural skin tones too, such as white, green, blue, etc. I could totally see myself making my character pale white, putting on the vampire makeup and the elf ears and pretending to be a vampire on Halloween. I also really wish they would separate the face parts so that you can choose each separately (choose nose, eyes, mouth, etc). Lighter skin tones, vitiligo, albinism, white lashes, etc (and maybe even teeth customization? It’s weird, but I’m getting into the vampire vibes lol).
Oh, and definitely bulky/ripped characters, like Sabine. I want to be a strong gym bro 😎

I actually agree, something about them is just off.. though I do like the hairs. The character just feels bigger than the last one in terms of height so now it looks too tall for some of the horses like the thoroughbred
