He has one of the richest voices I've heard in a while.
Baritone be like that.
I rate his voice up there with Leonard Cohen and Hugh Laurie.

“Getting lost singing their song”. Yep that’s the state we’re in right now.
Yepp.. Me too.. I cannot name any more addictive drug, than their music 😁❤️
@@andicca23 I agree, when I listen to their songs, I'm immediately lost into trance and I'm so happy, I don't think about what is near me, also I forgot about problems and this is why I love them so much
This should be theme for new James Bond movie :D
Many of their songs could be James Bond intros
That goes for a lot of their songs in my opinion. ;)
A campaign called "Invite Poets of the Fall to make a new James Bond theme" should be created!
Exacly! :D
yep (:
Am I the only one who thinks these guys deserve a lot more appreciation than they have ?
not at all.
I mean, were you actually serious when you asked that question?
You are not the only one
They are a great band .
Just imagine, the makers of Bond films use this as their title track, the songs gets nominated for an Oscar, POTF get on the stage of academy award for a live performance, Marko’s expressions in all their glory, and they win the academy award!!!
Sagar Mehra goddamn u right!
I definitely think they would deserve that. But that would also be the end of club tours and I love seeing them at small venues.
Yeah even the thought of it excites me!!!
Amen.
But MONEY always wins... we got Shitty Eilish instead. :'(
I am shocked that they are so underestimated. He has one of the best voice i have ever heard and their songs are so beautiful and meaningful. Can't wait to go to their concert in October!
Curse to dem
How was the concert
This song is so smoothly good. It's pleasant listening to it. I love this kind of feeling this song gives me, it's indescribable. This band never fails to surprise me in an amazing way, always.
his voice is so beautiful
Every single note goes perfectly with the lines idk it has something going on
It hits me the same way. I call it stimulating... Mind, body, soul, heart. Moves them all for me 😎
This is the reason I loved POTF the first time I heard one of their songs.
É nois :)
Marko's eyes can do drama, some of his looks remind me of Daze
*His voice.... OMG HIS VOICE is soooo mesmerizing* 😍😍😍😍😍😍
Reminds me of the early poets of the fall days....this was so good
Didn't realise they ever had a clear soundpallete.
[Verse 1]
Getting lost singing their song
Caught up in all I've done
It's all I know, but not what I need
Cut by my love, cut till I bleed
[Chorus]
So I want to run to your shelter tonight
Run to the shelter tonight
United in silent resistance
Of bowing to false kings
So let me run to your shelter tonight
Run from this meaningless pantomime
I'll swallow my pride, give up the pretence
Of bowing to false kings
[Verse 2]
Bought their smiles, liquid and smooth
Took their words for the truth
Edge of light and shade
My broken soul once more enslaved
[Chorus]
So I want to run to your shelter tonight
Run to the shelter tonight
United in silent resistance
Of bowing to false kings
So let me run to your shelter tonight
Run from this meaningless pantomime
I see the false kings
I see that all this
Must end
[Bridge]
When there's no love in my embrace
Cold blood runs through my veins
If I soar without grace
Do I still soar?
I need the love in your embrace
Open doors, brand new ways
End my wars and erase
And I'm yours
[Chorus]
So I want to run to your shelter tonight
Run to the shelter tonight
United in silent resistance
Of bowing to false kings
So let me run to your shelter tonight
Run from this meaningless pantomime
I'll swallow my pride, give up the pretence
[Outro]
Yes, I wined and, and I dined on, on that cyanide
...

Amen. not just lyrics but also a prayer
Thanks 💜
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Marko's voice is like wine, it get's better and better every year.
I am really digging the Noir/James Bond feel for the music and video.
i feel the same way
Roger that!! 🖐️😉

I'm late but he'll yeah it's so true
The intelligence of the lyrics is flat out amazing. The emotion, but control, I'm just amazed. The uniqueness of tone as well, bravo. New fan here!
emmyfayebeauty There are still people making good music but you have to work a bit to find it. :)

MoonLight no clue buddy
He's using a lot of his old vocal techniques, and the production is incredible. Can this band do any wrong? I mean other than not tour the states..
I'm kidding of course. I know it's out of their control. A man can dream.
Robert E I love how all Poets fan seem like really nice and smart people, it makes me proud
Me too. It's certainly a good change from the normality of the toxic communities of UA-cam. :)
Robert Exactly, everyone here has the same positive thoughts about Poets, and no crap about Old or New Poets, everyone agrees everything they come out with is brilliant
They are going to be at ProgUSA in Atlanta Georgia in September 2019. Tickets on sale this october. They sell out fast and definitely aren't cheap!
@@50Pooja Well, some don't like Clearview and Ultraviolet. I gotta say, I only like 5 or so songs at most from Clearview and only this one from Ultraviolet (I guess), but that doesn't make their music any worse. And if one can trust the theory about the connected lyrics and albums someone described here, the new album's mood only makes sense. I still miss more songs like this, Daze, Carnival of Rust and Drama for Life, though, which are my favourites.
Poets of the fall... You leave us speechless with every single song you produce, perhaps this music at it's very best that to in generation where people don't understand, but those who do understand and listen to the legendary testimony of poets of the fall automatically comes to the list of admirer of true artistic beauty. Kudos POTF
This is possibly the best band I've ever listened to
True music perhaps❤. Where are you poets of the fall fans. Can't find you guys anywhere.
Nothing is "true music" honestly, music is very subjective. There is no objectively good music. That said, this song is truly amazing.
I was referring to all those new music videos where they just twerk and get views
"True beauty doesn't seek for attention"... but always recieves it
Random Awesome between a group of guys who pick up instruments ,write some good and meaningful shit ,and a "singer" who goes to the studio where the producer does everything with PC and synthes ,there is a big difference in their definition of music
There are a lot of Facebook groups where we’ve been talking about their stuff
This song is the proof that good music is still being made
Too bad that they aren't more popular because they are amazing!!
This track is like old wine, get's better by time and every listen. Bow to the true poets!
I love Marko's facial expressions and hand gestures.
I need this song playing on repeat for the rest of my life, please.
Proxy I need you.
His voice makes every song better
If the next James Bond is ever to be Finnish! Markko fits the bill perfectly 😍
Judging by this music video, Marko could play a Bond villains also :)
Juha Reinikainen But we wouldn't mind, would we. It's more of Markko for us either way! 😁😁
yes
True i mean i would be happy if this was the start song for the new bond!! :)
I'd rather see him as a villain. I'm a little bias though, I've always had a thing for bad boys. ;)
I have listened to this song now for so many times.. I really started to like it even more and more. I was so lucky that I got a chance to collaborate with this amazing band and Marko! Hopefully I get a chance to work with them again in the future.
Jay Ray you are awesome too!!! :)
False Kings+Striven=Damn piece of art!
Love ya and PotF,waiting for more collaborations!
You will I'm sure. :)
Hope so too, your collaboration with Marko was epic!
Your songs are also fucking amazing!
Знаете, что такое шедевр? Это то, что Вы только что посмотрели. Песню можно разбирать на цитаты. Марко шикарен. Вот как он это делает?! Разлюбить Поэтов невозможно. from Russia with love
Nice references to Lift, Temple of Thought, Carnival of Rust and Clearview! Keep up the good work!!
You know you're a true fan when you spotted them at first view

Its hard to not pay attention on this)
Didn't notice any :(
Can anyone explain them?

Dude's voice is so powerful
Seriously guys... I mean it... Come on... Every time I find a new top favorite song from this band, they literally throw an ever better one to call my top favorite... And then another... And then another... These guys just keep making excellent music!
That lick tho'
I love how old-school and classy this song sounds. And I love the references to previous music videos. This song is my new obsession.
A new song from POTF. Played it when the office was closing, everyone stayed until the song ended. Amazing as always!
I don’t think this group gets enough acknowledgment. I love this group.
This song, This video...is everything.
Poets of the Fall USA Street Team I wonder how we can get word/press out for POTF in USA...I so badly wish they'd bring their magic here. (Sad panda face)
I freaking love his voice so much 💜
Forever underrated, POTF! Missed the chance last time they visited Calcutta, India. Hope to catch them again. Do an Indian city tour again if possible, Marko. Cheers!
Sampad Roy finally someone
Yes please
Two artists we need in India - Eminem , Marko
You are in luck,POTF are coming back in Kolkata on November 😁
@@KunalSaini97 That is totally true
Great song. I've been pondering what it, and especially the video, means, mainly because the scary eye creeped me out and I wanted to know why they would include something like that.
At first I took the references to previous videos as an anniversary thing, since this year marks the band's 15th anniversary, but then I realized that the commenter who said that False Kings, Daze, Lift and Carnival of Rust are all the same, was right. False Kings shares the theme of these songs and I see an especially strong connection to Carnival of Rust and Daze. All three are about chasing empty satisfactions, being lured by false promises, mistaking superficial things for freedom and happiness, and losing what truly matters: the ability to love and to have someone who loves you in return. CoR lamented this while Daze reveled in the self-destructive denial, and False Kings is pushed and pulled back and forth between these. In the first verse there is the realization that these empty, shallow things (the False Kings you bow to) are not what you truly need, there is the intent to run from it and seek out the shelter provided by love. I think the woman in the red dress is not really present and just a ghost, a memory, the one whose love and shelter was lost and is still missed.
At the poker table she makes the moth symbol from Lift. A reminder that he did not follow the one who could make his spirit fly. He failed to escape from the rat race in Lift, the day to day circles, the drama. Not doing what truly makes him free and happy. The Temple of Thought album art on the cards can have two meanings: one, reference the relationship that turned dysfunctional and eventually ended, and that this is the reason why it did not last. Two, symbolize the angel/saint and demon duality you also see in the video with the scarred face and white eyeball. Both are within us and our choices make on or the other stronger.
After the first chorus he lapses. The corruption caused by that life of meaningless thrills, focusing on money and stuff you can buy, rears its head. It's not so easy to break away from it, especially when you've already lost so much because of the choices you've made, the things you've done. When it has twisted your view of the world and left you without purpose. Easier to give in to that part of yourself that enjoys it, to keep living in that Daze.
The chessboard, of course, references the Clearview album. When he tries to shake off the distortion and confusion, get a moment of respite to get a clearer view of things, it only reveals the checkmate. He's been played by the smooth smiles, the red cape and foil, and by the time he realizes and wants it to end, he has already lost. The love in his life is gone, his ability to love is gone, gestures of love like an embrace have been robbed of their meaning and become empty. In the video he refuses to accept his defeat, however. Maybe he can still move away from the loveless demon within himself and turn things around his life.
One thing I still do not understand is the line "united in silent resistance of bowing to False Kings". I am interpreting the act of bowing to false kings as chasing these empty satisfactions, being fooled by the promises of what you're being sold. So how is that a form of resistance? If it was about resisting that way of living, would it not be "resistance against
bowing to false kings"?
Dutchess
Man this interpretation is amazing. You really put your heart in it!
But I have to say that while I was reading further and further it made me feel this scary emptiness growing inside me all the time the further I got in your text.
Feels like you just described my past life.
Man, I don't know what to feel..
www.reddit.com/r/poetsofthefall/comments/7ur3z4/what_is_your_take_on_the_meaning_of_false_kings/ Maybe this interpretation can help you with the line you dont unterstand. I think its another deep way to interpret this song.
To your last question, I think they meant silently resisting the act of bowing itself, that is, they will no longer please the "false kings". The false kings are basically misguiding outside forces (power, money, social status or any initially external and superficial influence that drives you obsessed) that subtly start to skew your priorities in life and eventually make you lose your edge - unless you're very careful, that is. (This was on the band's FB page recently, just in more words. I like this because it promotes introspection, which is a rare virtue.)
Dutchess I think the bowing is 'forced' because there's no other option hence the 'silent resistance'
I have always interpreted the core message of this band in general as "you're unhappy because everyone is lying to you."
It's a song that you can play over and over again. They never stop surprising me, such a versatile band!
This voice...omg..I've never fallen in love in a voice, but that was before I heard Poets of the Fall some years ago. Totally adore his voice! And this was a pretty good song as well. :)
Marko has the most silky voice, great new song and new album .
First time ever hearing this... I'm hooked, I really like this. Lead singer has a mesmerizing voice.
This is the type of music that should be taking home the grammys!
These guys are phenomenal!! They are a diamond in the rough. Such a great sound!!
Poets of the Fall I'm running to your shelter tonight. And every night. Till the album comes out. ❤️❤️
Such a perfect voice he has. How deep he can make it, high and in between.
wohoo! Btw, it felt like Bond. Marko can become the 007 or the antagonist in one of the movies anyday.
He'd also be a better Joker, according to Daze video.
It sounds like a song written for a new Bond movie.
Not only 007 but he could also replace Kevin Spacey in House of Cards
It certainly sounds like a Bond theme, I thought that before reading your comment.
I got a Blofeld feel from Marko's makeup so probably antagonist.
*Голос и манера исполнения. Они ВЕЛИКОЛЕПНЫ!*
*Песня просто не выходит из моей головы. При прослушивании её я получаю наслаждение.*
That butterfly moment was THE BEST....much love
the most underrated band in the history , who else loved POTF because of Max payne ???
I heard them from Max Payne 2 but Alan Wake is where I was like, Poets hit differently
My dad told me that this band is in max payne. But l had never heard it before :/
@@thebananaguardian_ If you're looking for Poets in Part 1, You won't find any of their music, but you will find two of the members there! Marko himself played as Vladimir Lem while Olli played as Vinnie Gognitti.
In Part 2, their debut single, "Late Goodbye" can be heard throughout the game and in the credits. This and Lift would become their breakout songs.

what about even before those games?
A band the masses might not want, but need.
Hello! Talking with full responsibility group of poets of the fall is a part of my life !!! I love listening to you when I'm driving !!! I noticed the fact that you fit me in any mood!!! This is musical satisfaction !!! Thank you for what you have !!! I love your music ! I respect you ! I am sure my country Russia also loves you and you feel it !!!! The new song is another scar on my heart !!! I want to live .................Want to live to listen to new quality songs Finland guys who call themselves Poets of the fall!!!!! Thank you for what you have !!!!the vocalist with the velvet vocals unlike anyone else ! Bravo poets ! Bravo!
Михаил Сарычев please don’t listen to these when you drive.
Thank you very much for the advice !!! But I do not listen )))) Thank you !
I postponed watching this video till morning when I had my coffee and noone bothering me. Can't give myself to POTF on the run and in a hustle. Always love, always best, from the very first album, for every single song.
His voice is so powerful.... i love you poets
Poets of the fall never fail to amaze me. Such a jazzy song, don't have the exact words to describe this song. It's stuck in my head since a week now and I keep listening to it in loop. The Bond like feeling, the amazing lyrics and that dazzling voice. A music video with so many meanings, they are such an underrated band and the world just doesn't deserve such good music
akritithegreat they know what they’re doing. They’ve refused the big labels and kept their own. I don’t know whether each of them have their own projects or bands
And finally captain on production... What a beauty would clearview be if Markus had produced that album too. Instantly hooked as always🖤
Illusionist & Dreamer This song is already better than the whole clearview album, like that wasn't poets of the fall to me.
Children of the Sun, Moonlight Kissed and The Labyrinth were the only ones that made me think "Ok, this is the real POTF", but the rest of the album (to me) was pure disaster compared to what I used to hear from them.
I'm a metalhead and this song is AMAZING. Damn, thank you Control (video game) for introducing me to this band
If god had a voice
Galaxy Star HE DOES! And he speaks to us through Marko via Poets' songs ❤️
So there are 2 gods - Marko Saaresto (God of songs and emotion) and Morgan Freeman (God of Narration and Acting)
Sounds good, a little bit James Bond feeling behind the video
Galaxy Star if God existed
+Sreerag Nair
Don't forget James Earl Jones for the latter. ...Michael McConnohie is also a God of Voice-Acting since whenever he says something, his mere voice fills up the entire room. If I was religious, my god would sound like this: ua-cam.com/video/atCXULYZZHs/v-deo.html
His voice is everything 😍
OMG the chessboard layout at 2:51 is exactly the same as the one in Clearview’s cd booklet. And there’re so many references to their previous works in this video. This is amazing
This is amazing. Even if you don't catch all the references to other songs or follow the storyline, I swear you'll still subconciously pick up on something you can't quite explain and that something will pull you in deep. I love this band!
I started listening to them because of the song that appears in Control .... I ended up falling in love with this band ... now I am a fan ..
One of the best songs I heard in the last few years! I missed good music. Thanks God I played Alan Wake some years ago and found this band.
Max Payne 2 for me. They had Late Goodbye in the credits and early on in the game
Best part of being up early
what a voice man😍
Poets of the fall always the best...nothing can beat their songs...awesome lyrics and inspiring videos...they rock.keep it up guys stay cool
Lift, Temple of Thought, Carnival of Rust, Choice Millionaire and even Daze!? It's the same! It's all the same! The true Poets are back to their method of madness!
What if I told you that all of their music is connected in a single story that weaves across albums.
Clear view
The "X of Y" Trilogy and the "X Y" Trilogy are the White and Red components of the cyclical pantomime performance about Love, going on within Marko's head - where two Comedia Del Arte characters - Jeremiah Peacekeeper (Pierot) and Hamartia (Harlequin) are stuck in a loop of the Rise (Lift) and Fall of defining Love (Fire) as either Passion or Pain. The object of his desire is thus symbolically the Sun, with the Moon watching over the scene.
Alchemy Vol 1, Clearview and Album 8 ("Xy" Duology?) exist outside this cycle, with Marko seen in the "real world" in videos - the stage play now shown to be just elements of fiction within the real world. Clearview is his observations on this cycle. Judging by this track, Album 8 will be about an attempt at stopping the cycle. This would make sense given that Alchemy Vol 2 will likely have a track that follows on from the "to be continued" of No End, No Beginning. One of the lines in False Kings is "This pantomime must end!" The big reveal in this video is the identity of the moon, or the Puppet Master as named in The Game - it's the guy Marko is playing chess with.
Check out the back cover of Alchemy Vol 1, that's your best starting point. After that just start listening out for linked lines of the lyrics between tracks I.E. "Her clashes of colors are flashes of society in ashes" - The Game, which matches perfectly with "It's all a game, avoiding failure, when true colors will bleed." - Carnival of Rust. There are HUNDREDS of such links. A heck of a lot of things are 'foreshadowed' in CoR also, such as "Break for Freedom" and "House of Dusk" being Revolution Roulette and Twilight Theater respectively.
And also Drama for Life, with "crazy Marko" in red.
Is that a checkmate move on 2:53? It seems like one to me...
My only regret is I can't smash the like button a thousand times... I fucking LOVE this song! Poets should definitely be tapped for a bond film!
Smooth. I just can't explain how i feel when i listen to their music, i'm amazed that i get to see them live in England last year. I'd recomend that experience to everyone.
How can anybody unlike such a legendary song!
Help me I can’t stop listening to this.
This song is a beautiful connecting link of every Poets' album both visually and musically.
last year i had the pleasure to witness the poets perform live at NH7 Weekender at Shillong....still the best night of my life
what a voice
The clarity of his voice
What the voice, what the song 🥺🥺🥺🥺
the first time i heard it: "meh", the second: "it's not that bad", the third: "it's pretty good", the fifth: "OMG IT'S GREAT", the tenth: "I FUCKING LOVE THIS SONG"
yeah, I kinda felt the same. (Though I must confess it was moreso with Cradled in Love)
That's what happened to me with the Ultraviolet album
Commanding voice. Like a king.
His voice is a separate musical instrument...
This song is fire! Marco's voice is divine! ("...run to the shelter tonight, run to the shelter tonight..." - sounds in the ears)
His voice is divine
I adore his beautiful voice...!!!!
2:59 That subtle smile from the opponent was epic
I absolutely loved that too! It was perfect!
That's the director of the video :)
Tobyanca : same here
The video is so twin-peaksy it's hard to believe.
Loved it!! New single! New haircuts! (Jani) hoping for USA tour dates!!! Did anyone else catch the “Temple of Thought” “Lift” & “Carnival of Rust” easter eggs?! What about when he sits down to play chess? Daze anyone?! 👀 Poetically beautiful. Been following this band since Max Payne 2 was released and that was when they first started!! ❣️
10/10
The chess piece too, probably Clearview reference ;)
Feels good to know I'm not the only one who got the burns.
16 years wow. that's more than half of my lifetime. they never gets old. came with alan wake and in all 8 years they songs are all still fresh
Butterfly (Moth) Hand Gesture: Lift and Original Logo reference.
Lolly Candy: as appeared in the covers of Signs of Life and Carnival or Rust, featuring in the PV for the titular track of the latter.
Casino Scenery: throws back to Revolution Roulette
The playing Cards featuring Temple of Thought
The Game of Chess: Clearview.
False Kings, a facade of self titled superior beings, may also be interpreted as a phrase reference of previously named Jealous Gods
All albumbs accounted for but one. Twilight Theatre.
And yet the reference lies in the lyrics of the Meaningless Pantomime. For a pantomime is performed on a theatre stage.
All prior albums are referenced within this single either through the words or visuals.
And it is oh so satisfying to see the artistic work at play.
If you look closely at the card Marko lays down at 0:44, the face has been overlaid with a cut-out of the face of the jester (Hamartia) from the Twilight Theater cover.
Jennifer Doneske you are correct and I never noticed that. Doesn't help watching on a mobile though
The best voice
The best male vocalist in the world.... what a voice, Marko. You are the very best indeed!
Can't believe I just learned about this band now, its one of the best bands I have ever heard period. Keep up the amazing music
Lovely. I love his voice! I am sad why I haven't found this band sooner
Love from Canada!
This song and video is a masterpiece. It just has a mystically powerful way to resonate, as many of Poet's of the Fall songs do. If somebody asks you to give a prime example of how music is truly an artform. . ."Poets of the Fall" is all you have to tell them, and perhaps show them any of their music videos for good measure.
Love this.
The album is called Ultraviolet and is out October.
Clearview is seeing with your eyes. Ultraviolet is using tools to see in a new light.
True art is when it can be interpreted differently depending on the viewer.
Lyrics was so pure and true. Y'all have my respect.❤
POTF is pure class and one of the best bands to watch live... Thank You Max Payne for introducing them to me 15 years ago
Poets, I recently just discovered your band.
As I used to live without your music.
Now together and forever !!
gorgeous voice
