@@mixbustv Would be an interesting video! Maybe shoot them out against your analog tape emulation + some other plugins like TB reel, which is one of the BEST IMHO
Don’t like to throw this term around lightly, but after two days with it, this feels kind of like a game changer. On top of that, it also feels like one of the most properly thought out and laid out digital audio items in ages (maybe ever). To just be able to get your levels set and have the macros to get results quick with the different chains to remove some of the guess work, but then to be able to easy disable or go in and do more detailed changes to your preferences in each unit. So you can not only get things quick but actually learn mastering better if you want? Then the whole subscription but not really a normal subscription to earn credit to buy all the units so you ultimately can ditch the subscription if you want? They really knocked this out of the park.
OK, I really like what they did here. I hate subscription models. I also own, probably the majority of the stuff that comes with the flow subscription. Which, apparently once you start the trial, you gain access to all the flows that contain all the products you have perpetually. So you can unsubscribe and still have access to all the stuff that you already have in the nice easy to use GUI. So I’m more likely willing to subscribe to get some of the few pieces I don’t have.
Thank you very much for all your very good explanations here on your UA-cam channel. You have a very good pronunciation as well as you don't speak too fast or too slow and it's never boring. I like that you always demonstrate your words with some tweaks on the knobs. I'm a professional guitarist and musician for 45 years. Around 10 years ago I started to record and produce my own compositions simply because it's possible and reachable for everybody thanks to the computer world and the plug-ins available. Still collecting experience. And so I am grateful that I have the possibility to learn from you. Merci and greetings from Hamburg in Germany.
Seems pretty cool, definitely being able to edit the macros would be a nice update in the future or be able to make your own chains or edit the signal flow if you want to swap some things around. The rent to own idea is the cherry on top though, classic softube W!
I think I read that you would get a perpetual license, once you do the subscription. "The easiest way to get all the value from Flow Mastering Suite is to subscribe. However, if you already own plug-ins included in Flow® Mastering Suite, you can run the Flows that use those plug-ins. You get access to the Flow Mastering Suite plug-in by starting a subscription, and the Flows for which you own all the plug-ins will still work even after canceling the subscription." So in essence it will cost you 15 bucks.
I'd love to see a shoot out between this, IK Multimedia's T-Racks Mastering Suite, IK's Lurrsen Mastering Console, Izotope, a mastering plugin chain (maybe using Studio One's mastering console and a hardware setup. That would be really neat and provoke a lot of discussion. 😎
Is this basically a Softube version of Ozone's auto-mastering application, combined with a Plugin Alliance style subscription model? If so, is it any better at creating a starting point using better plugins and maybe better AI targets than Ozone, or is is more or less equivalent to Ozone?
You've got a great studio. How the hell can you work on that little monitor though? LOL I'm getting older and need to see better. I threw a 47 inch HDR tv on my system and man everything looks gorgeous now.

The mindset of wanting to compete is making all these companies do what's not necessary.. I didn't get it. Is this a smart plugin that can read the material you feed it? Or is it just a host with plugin suggestions? How can it suggest different presets if it cannot read the material you feed it? Or are the presets the same every time?
Softube linked up with mastering engineers and sorted the chains out with them and their input. the presets are the same everytime as their starting point. It's basically like "pop production" and that is a specific chain with macros doing specific things or "organic rock" and that is a different chains with macros that do different things. And of course above you can get in and do more detailed adjustments within the plugins/modules. So basically you are just picking or trying out some presets based on their name or just trying out some and seeing if just the starting point feels ballpark to you. then you get to work.
It’s just a host. And you can’t even customise your signal chain. You just have to pick from the handful signal chains they give you. It’s useless, and I love softube.
I hate subs na na na bla bla bla..... but no shits given I own 16 out of 16 (81 actually from Softube) so I have the flow for free !!!! and it's quite awesome and this is al about being able to quickly compare ABCD flows or settings within a certain flow. I love it It need some extra flexibility (insert more plugins and link parameters yourself and being able to go into preset menu from the plugin) This is all in development (im sure) I know why Softube recently released clipper and widener as well (this was needed for the flow)
What CPU do you have? Because it really doesn't if you consider you're basically opening 5 or more plugins. No C1 is absolutely not taxing, is arguably THEE lightest mixing system

Nice one. 😎 Was waiting for Softube Subscription. Softube is never a letdown and I really like the way this subscription works. Although I already own quite a range, I give it a shot and use it to complete my collection. 🙌BTW: Seems like Softube has cracked the ilok servers with this one... 🤣At least in Western Europe. Ah naaaaw, I'm so sick of subscriptions... With subs the focus of companies switches from the customer to calculated profit. Usually with sh!tting on the customer in the process.
I don't like it. If you already own the plugins, you gotta still sub if you wanna use the flow. I also don't like that it doesn't support 3rd party plugins in the chain, so you'd have to use flow in conjunction with for example your fav clipper/limiter, and that then negates the ability to loudness match in flow. I also don't like how they market it, implying it makes everything easier, which I disagree with, because if you do not know what youre doing, you're just gonna ruin your track quicker. I do agree it sounds better than online mastering though that is not really a feat you can just slap Gullfoss on there an call it a day if topping online mastering is the goal.
@johanh9637 they are all useless. Record thru microphones with the source hard left or hard right in a great sounding room. Then hard pan. That's the best alternative. 👌
@synthzizer3324 So I assume you run your synths into a PA and record them with a full stereo rig. You do the same with the returns of all your effects like choruses, reverbs, delays, and whatnot. You also to the same with BVS, harmonies, doubles.. Yeah? How ridiculous. I truly don't understand if some people just troll or they are THIS ignorant about mixing. Also, since they're all useless, can we hear any of your mixes?
@mixbustv you don't need to have width on very many things in pop etc.. No I wouldn't record analog synths like that..the patch is what it is and will sit in the stereo field as it is programed to come out of the unit. Wide efx are phase killers.
