Color Tinting Experiments

- I have noticed a phenomenon in oil color mixing: If we mix an oil color with white (tinting), the hue of the color changes. For some colors this hue shifting is quite large( for instance: transparent orange changed from red to orange, then even to yellow). At this moment, I can not explain what is going on. Of course, the light source color and the camera white balance may have a systematic error and produce a small amount of hue shifting. However, this tinting induced color shift is more significant.
This analysis was conducted with the "Color Analyzer" app in my website: qhart.com.
I may have asked you about the Munsell Color System when I was at the Derek Penix workshop in Austin recently. I have not studied it deeply, but enough for it to help me see the color gamut as a sphere, not a wheel. The Munsell color notation system defines each "color" by three dimensions: hue, value, and chroma. I would be interested in hearing how this system from 1946 does or does apply to the research you've been doing? Thank you!
Please upload UA-cam videos often. I want to see your drawing scene.
