Business papers - such a satisfying moment in the video. Key clip for me is not used everyday, but happy to have. I definitely appreciate the pocket in the laptop compartment, not too tight to access - a small detail but glad that Bellroy paid attention. Just discovered your channel a few months ago, it’s quickly becoming my favorite even when I’m not shopping for bags. Thank you for being you.
I use the key clip for when I travel for work....I only have my house keys because I Uber to the airport. The key clip gives me peace of mind that my keys won't fall out at the airport, hotel, etc.
Yes to the key clip. Lost a set of keys on a work trip to Chicago. It sucked to get into SFO without them. Clip in on the cab to the airport, clip out in the cab on the way home. Not having to think about where my keys are? Priceless.
I traveled with the old version of this bag for 2 years straight, so excited to see these changes: - Luggage passthrough yay - Harness system looks great, was always great though. - Removal of the long tall pocket on inner of the beaver tail is good, I never found a good use for that thing - Like the changes on the side pockets, the old version with two waterbottle-sized pockets was just overkill - The big long deep front pocket, idk... I could see this being impractically tight as the bag gets tightly packed, and it would flex depending on your load so not so good for something like keyboards or business papers. It could just be a place to stuff soft stuff though, masks, beanies, etc. - Removal of the zip on the tech organizer pocket... idk. Worried about stuff falling out if your trying to pull the laptop out while the bag is horizontal, such as at airport security. - What happened to the sunglasses pocket right on the top! That pocket slaps, I guess they're replacing it with the inner mesh thing in the top organizer, but two zips to get to sunglasses, kinda annoying. Overall though banger update
I like so many of the updates, but they got rid of my favorite materials, and the aesthetics definitely suffered as a result. My Transit 28L in canvas is definitely showing the wear and age so I'm left wanting for a bit more durable exterior materials like the Baida nylon.
Happy the business papers found their way into the bag. I have the Transit plus and have loved it. a smaller version with a water bottle pocket sounds nice. Also love the shout out to Beginner's Mind. One of my favorite things I've learned in Buddhism.
Get an Owalla bottle. It has a straw but it stays covered, you can also tip it up and chug it with just the right opening width, and you can take it apart and put the components into a dishwasher (or handwash very easily).
This video had perfect timing haha. Got a new job and going hybrid after 4 years of WFH and immediately started to look around for a new work back to add to my collection of other work bags I had accumulated over the years. Bellory and Peak Design are generally my go-to's so this review made it very easy to make my decision haha. Especially not that ill most likely have more business papers to store.
I use the key clip when leaving a vehicle at the train station to ensure I don't lose my keys. If I'm driving, I either don't use it or use it for the spare key. I can't believe how excited I got about the business papers! I stopped working, and you got my full attention! The visual aid was amazing, too!
I'll use a keyclip to keep my keys in one place with more certainty - but if I'm actually going to want to use the keys regularly, a keyclip is usually the worst way to keep it and have it accessible. In other words, a small zip pocket would also serve that purpose
The key clip! I've grown to 100% need it, leaving your car at the airport BOOM clip it in right away, I'm messy AF after a couple days living in my bag so getting back to the car is nice to know for certain where my keys will be 😊
Thanks for the review, Chase. Business papers gets me every time! I like the 22 version. I have the 28 version of the previous version and I use it for a two day trip and when I know I'll be carrying lots of stuff. The 22 version looks great for a work daily bag and yet good for a work trip but bringing a carryon bag along.
I was hesitant until it was shown that I could fit my um... papers... my business papers. As for the key ring... I use it sometimes. In my sling packs I often just have a flashlight attached to it for convenience. But for other packs when traveling I attach my keys so I know where they are and they don't get lost. I don't "use them" with the key ring. It's just to be sure I know where they are when I get back to my car/house.
I have used key clips when I have traveled by myself from home, usually I will take a bus or get a friend or my dad to drive me, so seldom used but nice to have on those rare times.
I use the key clip for an AirTag when I’m traveling. Other than that, keys go in my pocket, deeper into the bag if I don’t need the keys on the daily, or on my belt loop.
Key clip in my Bellroys is used all the time, but I use it more when I’m away from home. I know my keys will always be there not in my pocket, don’t use the string to pull on to put the keys into the door. I sold my transit as I found it too bulky for the usual 1-2 day business trips I find myself on. A small roller with the 22 litre could be a winner now we have the luggage pass through that’s the best addition!
Chase, re: water bottle, I had the same requirements as you and finally figured it out. I recommend Hydra Flask 32oz Lightweight Wide Flex Cap PLUS get the Chug Cap for Wide Mouth which makes the mouth opening smaller to drink from but when you unscrew it's wide for ease-of-cleaning or adding large ice cubes. Win-win!! Hope this helps man.
Great video! I’ve been travelling for the past 2 years with 2 bags and use the key clips in both for mini torches. They are great as I always know where they are and I don’t own keys.
I only ever use a keyclip in a bag if I'm traveling and NOT using my keys. Just gives some peace of mind to know where my keys are for when I get home.
if we drive and park at the airport I do use my key clip on my Cotopaxi Allpa, it's in a good spot I never really use for much else that's out of the way, but easy to find once back home and need them again!
Great video. As far as the key clips, I only ever use them in bags when out hiking so I don't accidentally pull my keys out when grabbing gear. Apparently I'm ok with loosing my keys in town..
I use the key clip in every bag! I usually swap out the annoying clip for a magnetic one (search for lixada magnet) and having The same side positive/negative on every bag and the corresponding one on the keys, so one applies to all and I just need to pull hard without fiddling with clasps
I don't use key clips in bags for keys. For EDC, keys are in my pocket. For travel, keys are in my bag, preferably in a small pocket I dedicate for keys - so I always know where they are after weeks away from home. If I do use a key clip at all, I might use it for mini tools.
@Chase Reeves Not sure you noticed they brought out a 2nd edition of the original Transit Workpack. So now they have the regular line and the pro-line.
Yes. I love key clips. 1. They help me find my keys quickly if I have a lot of stuff in the pocket. 2. Adds some safety in that I can unzip the pocket and get stuff without worrying that my keys fall out and I don't notice. Neither probably matters but it's why I like key clips. Only Chase Reeves can make a back pack so interesting.
Water bottle: We love the Camelbak Chute bottles in our family. Loads of sizes to choose from, all with the same lid size, the spout is a nice size and the lid and bottle are easy to clean. Also the Contigo Free Flow is a really nice sipper, no straw but auto sealing spout that is really easy to clean.
I use key clip on backpacks for extended travel so they don’t get lost and I know exactly where they are when i get home. I use the key clip on my sling daily for house keys cause it’s easier than digging in my pocket for it especially when I’m juggling kids and gear.
Would the 28L support a 16” laptop AND an iPad Pro 12.9”? RE the key clip, yes I use it. I typically use it to hold my keys to my vehicle when I fly so I’m assured they aren’t going to slip out somewhere while I’m abroad.
I use the key clips when I travel, not for day to day. When I hit the airport, I immediately lash my keys down so when I am going through my bag, I do accidentally drop the keys out of the bag. Electronic car key fobs are incredibly expensive to replace, often a $200-300 dollars for OEM.
I use a key clip, mainly just for my car keys. I also have a mailbox key and a P.O.box key which is used less often (I don't check my mail daily) My house has a touchpad so I don't have house keys that need to be accessed daily.
Key clips are always a plus. It doesn't take up space. And I know my keys are safe. When I'm traveling, I set it and forget it. When I get home, if I travel with bags that don't have it, there's always that moment of panic of where's my keys? I also use those clips for my travel wallet which has a line and clip. It's a little deterrent for if someone wants to pickpocket my wallet from my bag.
Reading through some of the previous comments...and I see that I am like a few others and just use the key clip when travelling for work. House keys and any other keys that I only need around home go on that for safe keeping. So, if I saw the end of key clips it would be no big problem really. Even on EDC packs, I seldom use the key clip, since they are more problem than they are worth. I will say too, on my Sympl backpack, the magnetic detachable variation is so loose to not be reliable.
Just get the Yeti rambler with the chug cap. Chug cap is a single screw top (easy to clean) that’s not super wide mouth. It’s perfect. Yes, everyone has a Yeti, but there’s a reason for that. It’s like someone suggesting you to just buy a Toyota. Sure it’s boring, but they aren’t wrong.

Super light and warm even below zero, but no pit zips so it’s easy to overheat Was looking at the Western Rise airloft jacket Curious what else is out there (ideally with minimal branding)
Key clip: I use it, but I have a retractable cord attached to it. As they are in most bags, they tend to be impractical if you don't want to detach and reattach your keys all the time.
I dont have a keyclip on my timbuk2 , but id love to have some sort of magnet attachment to my keys that would make easy to go on and off the bag. , magnets , how do they work ? :O
Hey Chase, loved your videos for a long time. Great content and vibe. I'm from Australia and not used to cold climates. Going to Europe for a month in December. You think the Synik 30 can do the job? I loved your earlier Tom Bihn content but you dont seem to showcase them anymore.
I’ve tried, but I haven’t found a use for the key clip on any of my bags/pouches. I want to use them! But, I have a coded/thumbprint door lock and my car only uses a fob. I guess I could attach the car fob to the key clip, but that tucks nicely into one of the pockets on my sling (Aer Day Sling 2) so my key clip goes unused. Anyone use theirs for a non-key item?
I've used a key leash in a backpack or sling once in my life despite having them on all but one of the dozens of bags/slings I've owned and decided they're more trouble than they're worth. Maybe it's because I only carry three keys regularly, my house, mailbox, car key fob. I keep my keys on a Nite Ize clip and the key fob separate (no key loop, chain, etc) and they fold/lay flat in my pocket. Key leashes, organizers, etc are a total waste of money for me and have always proven too inconvenient.
I am a huge fan of bellroy and many other great brands, but the fact that companies continue to put a luggage pass throughs that puts ur backpack sideways on top of a carry on is still very confusing, you cannot use ur backpack while it's on a carry if it's on its side 🤦🏽♂️
It seemed an stupid sentence when you first said it, but as you were talking I realised I am not. I’ll try to change that. About the backpack, I seriously think they forgot a simple dump pocket only for your phone AirPods and wallet
I have to admit I don't get their line-up anymore. So many bags only for travelling... Lite Travel Pack Venture Travel Pack Venture Ready Pack Transit Workpack Transit Workpack Pro Transit Backplus Plus ... WTF...? 😂 But nice review anyway! 👌

Ive Been watching for years and can't believe the.................... business..............papers have finally been revealed. What a day!!!!
I use the key clip for when I travel for work....I only have my house keys because I Uber to the airport. The key clip gives me peace of mind that my keys won't fall out at the airport, hotel, etc.
Same, also keeps the keys out of the frequently used areas since I won't need them until I'm headed home.
Same. I also use it to attach to my passport case
This. Exactly.
Yup, that's when I use it.

I'm loving hearing all your thoughts on the keyclip and water bottles! Thanks
Check out contigo jackson 2.0 water bottle, literally the perfect water bottle and has all the right details.
Absolutely LOVE Bellroy. I use the Key clip for keys when traveling and for a mini flashlight when using edc
Loved the ramble. Thanks for being here

Favorite jacket. Basic answer but the Patagonia nano puff. It just lasts forever and looks good with everything
just stumbled on your channel randomly lol your method of doing reviews makes it so entertaining to watch. SUB!
I always use the key clip for a tiny light.
The key clip! I've grown to 100% need it, leaving your car at the airport BOOM clip it in right away, I'm messy AF after a couple days living in my bag so getting back to the car is nice to know for certain where my keys will be 😊

Yes to kep sclips - only because I'm afraid of dropping them when rummaging through the pocket.

"Get coachable", sit down, be humble. Good advice. Lots of people could really use this mindset. There would be less angst.
Please review the second edition Transit Backpack! 👀
I use the key clip in every bag! I usually swap out the annoying clip for a magnetic one (search for lixada magnet) and having
The same side positive/negative on every bag and the corresponding one on the keys, so one applies to all and I just need to pull hard without fiddling with clasps
Yeti Rambler with Chug Cap. I didn’t want to like it but it’s the best. No moving parts and dishwasher safe.
I use the key clip to hold by bottle openers
I don't use key clips in bags for keys. For EDC, keys are in my pocket. For travel, keys are in my bag, preferably in a small pocket I dedicate for keys - so I always know where they are after weeks away from home. If I do use a key clip at all, I might use it for mini tools.
Fav Jacket: Patagonia Micro Puff, I have a hooded and no hood depends on what I am wearing under but I like the hoody the best
@Chase Reeves Not sure you noticed they brought out a 2nd edition of the original Transit Workpack. So now they have the regular line and the pro-line.
I use the keyclip. I have a question... The Boundary Supply Renen and Stasis Pro combo or this? Which would you choose?
Would that big water bottle you showed there fit in the 22L bag as well?
Key loop is great when you are traveling away from home. You know where they are when you get back home
Yes. I love key clips. 1. They help me find my keys quickly if I have a lot of stuff in the pocket. 2. Adds some safety in that I can unzip the pocket and get stuff without worrying that my keys fall out and I don't notice. Neither probably matters but it's why I like key clips.

hows the quality? A lot have said that the quality is worn out
I use key clip on backpacks for extended travel so they don’t get lost and I know exactly where they are when i get home. I use the key clip on my sling daily for house keys cause it’s easier than digging in my pocket for it especially when I’m juggling kids and gear.
6:09 yeah I put my car key on the key clip when I travel. Otherwise I put a Tom Binh pouch on it
Recommend the Kleen Kanteen 32 oz TKPro Insulated Thermos
Would the 28L support a 16” laptop AND an iPad Pro 12.9”? RE the key clip, yes I use it. I typically use it to hold my keys to my vehicle when I fly so I’m assured they aren’t going to slip out somewhere while I’m abroad.
I use the key clips when I travel, not for day to day. When I hit the airport, I immediately lash my keys down so when I am going through my bag, I do accidentally drop the keys out of the bag. Electronic car key fobs are incredibly expensive to replace, often a $200-300 dollars for OEM.
Key clip on slings yes I do use them , on bags never...
I use a key clip, mainly just for my car keys. I also have a mailbox key and a P.O.box key which is used less often (I don't check my mail daily) My house has a touchpad so I don't have house keys that need to be accessed daily.

Even on EDC packs, I seldom use the key clip, since they are more problem than they are worth. I will say too, on my Sympl backpack, the magnetic detachable variation is so loose to not be reliable.
Water bottle recommendation: Larq. I’ve used the first version (UVC built in). Only downside is it’s a bit heavy.
Favorite jackets all from Outdoor Research.
PLACE FOR BIDNESS PAPERS OR BUST
Just get the Yeti rambler with the chug cap. Chug cap is a single screw top (easy to clean) that’s not super wide mouth. It’s perfect. Yes, everyone has a Yeti, but there’s a reason for that. It’s like someone suggesting you to just buy a Toyota. Sure it’s boring, but they aren’t wrong.
I agree. ☝🏽
Chase, you asked for water bottle recommendation. You can't go past a Yeti Rambler. Have had mine for years.
I never use those key clips... I like with there just looped in like able carry did with there packs, so i can take them out
I use the key ring to attach my air tag. Not for keys
Water Bottle = Yeti Rambler and Yonder are my fav bottles with Chug cap 💯
Did you find the shoulder straps to be too narrow and caused a pinch to your shoulder/neck when carrying the bag?
@CHasereeves which model travel down jacket was that? I can't find it in the Mission Workshop online store
Coachable, you let me know a great words man.
I use the key clips either for my airpods or to hold my keys.
Only use the clip when traveling and I'll be away from home for a few days, so I know where they are for when I'm back. Then they go back to my pocket.
Same here.
Jackets! Looking forward to your vid. My travel go to the last few years has been a Montbell plasma 1000 puffer with an Arcteryx Zeta LT raincoat as a shell. Super light and warm even below zero, but no pit zips so it’s easy to overheat
Was looking at the Western Rise airloft jacket
Curious what else is out there (ideally with minimal branding)
Key clip: I use it, but I have a retractable cord attached to it. As they are in most bags, they tend to be impractical if you don't want to detach and reattach your keys all the time.
Which brand of retractable cord?
I used key cord all the time, easier to find 😀
I dont have a keyclip on my timbuk2 , but id love to have some sort of magnet attachment to my keys that would make easy to go on and off the bag. , magnets , how do they work ? :O
Hardly use the key clip, they are hard to access and don’t really think about it when I leave home
Great video!! If you do a jacket video have you tried the nomadic jacket?
Hey Chase, loved your videos for a long time. Great content and vibe. I'm from Australia and not used to cold climates. Going to Europe for a month in December. You think the Synik 30 can do the job? I loved your earlier Tom Bihn content but you dont seem to showcase them anymore.
8:07 oh hell yeah you could definitely fit, fur sure they will fit, yup those bizzz papers fit!!! Lol
Love you, Chase. 😊
Thanks, Chase. Smart bag, smart review 💡
Do either of these fit under the seat as a personal item on the plane or are they considered carry-on sized for overhead bins?
you do mention that the 22L would fit under the seat for sure, but the larger one is a maybe?
Yea, the 28L definitely fits under seat.
I never use the bag key clip unless it's a god damn small key that i know i would lose it in a few seconds 😂.
Like your video. How is it like compared to the Lite Travel Pack?
Keep it simple. Yeti water bottle with a chug cap
Transit Workpack Pro.Venture Ready Pack. Which do you like?
I have never used a key clip
Is the material on these water resistant?
Yea, I don't ever use the key clip..
Fucking nailed Business Papers.
Never Ever did I use the key… clip!
The keyclip is used to hold my Apple Airtag

I use the keyclip. Then I know exactly where the keys are
It seemed an stupid sentence when you first said it, but as you were talking I realised I am not. I’ll try to change that. About the backpack, I seriously think they forgot a simple dump pocket only for your phone AirPods and wallet
I have to admit I don't get their line-up anymore. So many bags only for travelling...
