I’ve had STEK dynoshield put on my car 3 times. Each time there have been bubbles. My approach is leave it alone and let it work it’s own way out through the film. Put the car in the sun to make it quicker. My concern in pricking it is you’re left with a hole that might allow air and moisture in later. But no doubt there are times when intervention is needed.
hello sir. i've learnt a lot from you. the main problem is how to tuck the ppf on the edges so they wont come off and get loose. i tried heat gun but after a while it comes off. regards
Id suggest popping the bubble from the side so you can press out the moisture. Popping from the side will help eliminate any air bubbles staying behind.
I have some air bubbles and my friend accidentally pushed them in. Do you think if I use a insuline syringe to inject tack into the hole and then push it out, it will be fine?
Thanks a ton for posting all these PPF application skills and tricks. Wish I watched this particular one before I started working on my first PPF project. Other than leaving the car under the sun, is there another way to mitigate what you called "snake trails" due to damaged adhesive?
Thanks for making this video. I drove home with several of this air bubbles today because the tint pro shop assured me that the bubbles will disappear after 3 weeks which he called it the curing period? He instructed me not to touch or do anything with it. Plus some edges of the films did not stick and he also assured me that after 3 weeks take the car back and he will give the car a wash and stick any loose edges with heated gun? Is this acceptable?
@@DriveProtected thank so much for the feedback. I will take my car back to shop tomorrow as the XRPlus Xpel has 10yrs warranty. Should I demand them to redo all the imperfections? Thx!🙏🏼
You make the best videos man.
Great work. Great tips. Great quality.
Thanks very much.
Thanks for the kind words!

If you have air bubbles left behind, they will need to be popped. They won’t disappear on their own.

If the film isn't sticking after wrapping it, try cleaning the edges more thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol.
Thank you for this, very helpful.
Thanks for the tip, my issue it seems is when I poke the bubble, air gets in as the moisture comes out, so I end up with an air bubble instead?

I’d just pop the bubble and press down. No need to inject tack solution in my opinion
thanks for the advice, what about the tiny ones. Why do they form? I sometimes have like samll spot bubbles and don't know really what is causing them
Small bubbles are formed because of the left over solution that is soaked up in the adhesive.
@@DriveProtected will the same technique (popping with needle) work on those, though?
Yes it will work, however if they are very small I would just let them dissipate naturally over a few days instead of popping them.
Great video. Won’t the syringe leave a mark?
Very small mark. Likely would just self heal.

Not really no. Thank you for the kind words. Glad you find value in our videos!

They’re not wrong on the PPF needing a curing time, however no PPF shop should be letting vehicles out the door without 100% sealed off edges.

@angelparis2071 shoot me an email with photos and I’ll tell you what’s acceptable vs what should be redone. eric@driveprotected.com
@@DriveProtected I just emailed you with pics. My car was left in the shop for 3 days. The wrap looks sloppy and rush. Thanks for everything.
Excellent explanation thank you again my friend
Glad you found value!
For bubbles you need to pop, is there risk to a pressure washer eventually getting into that area?
I dont think that would be an issue as long as you are not hitting it immediately with a pressure washer.
Ty for the videos and great tips bro
I wish I had seen this 2 days back. 🙄
Is there not a small dot left? I seem to never be able to get 100% of all fluid out. Maybe 95%
The last little amount of moisture usually dissipates quickly once under the sun.
Instead of needing, can the sun eventually remove the bubbles over time?
The moisture over time will dissipate but any air pockets left behind will need to be popped
@@DriveProtected oh I see. Thanks!
I have another question: after freshly installing PPF, is it bad to leave the car outside in direct sunlight? Should I leave my car in the garage?
You da man once again. thanks
Thanks Dennis!!
can air bubbles be removed after 15 days of installation
Yes! They need to be popped with a diabetics needle.
Will a sewing needle work?
No. Its too thick, and will leave a very noticeable hole behind in the film.
Great info
thank you man
🙏🙏🙏
You're welcome!
