Brilliant tips here, will definitely use some of 'em. Like the spreadsheet idea a lot.

My problem with finishing music is that I do finish tracks, but they don't meet my overly high expectations of perfection. But people say my music is really good. So perfectionism is a double sided thing, it can drive you to do really well but drive you crazy too!

I understand what you mean. There were many time I held back nearly finished songs because they weren't "perfect", but then i realized that when listening back a couple years later to literally EVERY track that i ever released - could have been improved or tweaked differently somehow. But with each thing I make I evolve to gradually improve my work over time.
Also, my work for various productions forces me to present my creations to near strangers before I really feel ready. It never gets less terrifying. But it showed to me that we humans have an infinite supply of creativity. That means I can always make more... so no need to hold on so tightly to the past works.

Hey thanks so much for this, really helpful! I've made up my own spreadsheet for a live set I've just started working on.
Working titles are always a struggle and if I dont have "something" I find the bits and pieces dont get named and things are out of order from the start. So I've chosen characters from a book(whose title I've used as a working project title), and listed the characters in alphabetical order as working song titles. I'm feeling confident that this is a whole lot of songs I WILL actually finish!

Little heads up that the link in the description isn't formatted correctly atm. So it's not clickable since it doesn't show up as a blue link

Is the track playing in the background around 5:00 one of your own? Sounds dope!
