Solid advise for the new guys that are coming into the mobile game. Ive tried a lot of different attachment methods and I seem to keep leaning back to the cam buckles honestly.
My new Hawk minis came with Versa Straps and they pissed me off.. So I started cinching them down just like a rope mod. Works just fine. I still use the cinch strap on my bottom stick. I can flip it up and mount my first stick higher by using that. Thanks for the great video!
I appreciate your helpful advice. I have Hawk's version of the versa straps and I was able to do the truckers hitch with those. Works great with my steps and platform. You saved me from thinking I needed something else. God bless!
I have been using my daisy’s as a rope mod as well o wasn’t too sure it was ok to do so. Thanks for the reassurance that these can be repurposed many different ways!
Great info. Greatly appreciate your integrity in putting out honest info to help the viewer. It’s funny. I have been utilizing the truckers hitch to secure all sorts of things for the past decade, never did I consider it for hunting. I intend to use this method for securing my platform. I am left scratching my head a bit though. When you showed how to run the line to incorporate the truckers hitch then doubled back to the button, why would you not then immediately secure your tag end to the button? Instead, you used a loose loop on the line over the button and then set the stick. Since the truckers hitch was not finished, but only the loop with slack, setting the stick at that point will always pull that slack back into the line. The entire point of securing the line is to eliminate all slack possible. The truckers hitch will work best if you make the hitch and use that mechanical advantage to get it as tight as possible before your “rope mod” finish.
I showed both processes. Sometimes it works getting it tight enough to come back to just a loop. But my preferred method is like you stated. Finishing with a rope mod tie. That's if I'm understanding you correctly
@@AERIALASSAULT1 you are correct. I was mislead by my eyes and ears! Ha. In the demonstration you showed the loop method and set the stick first. You then removed the loop and said “instead of doing that…” then ended it with rope mod. I missed the “instead”! I was under the impression that you were always using the loop to set the stick then tying the rope mod. I guess since I initially seen the slack introduced with the loop, my mind was stuck on that. Thanks man. Keep up the great content.
I agree, when I saw the new USA (ultimate stick, blah, blah, blah) I was impressed...with myself; because I had been doing the same thing for years without all the extra crap on the line! No way do you need two prussiks and a tender to make what is essentially a truckers hitch! Great video on how to use a rope like rope brother! Learn some knots and hitches y'all, and you won't need all of that other crap!
@@AERIALASSAULT1 I think at some point you get to where u have the gear u use and need and everything else is weight and fluff. Can't imagine how big of a pack some of these guys would have/carry into the field if they kept it honest
I’m going to purchase an upgrade for my helium sticks and predator platform. What would you recommend? trucker daisy, ultimate trucker hitch, psh or usa? I want something easy and quick to do in the dark. I also want it to be secure. There are so many new options. A lot of them take 5 mins per stick to tie.
Buy trucker daisy and tie like a rope mod bec it's quicker. Then if you ever need it tighter bec the tree youre on or position, you have the option to trucker hitch it. Personally I truckers hitch each one usually. It's fast
@Proxyy I use a madrock. I've tried the other options but the madrock is just superior, although only while Rappelling. I have been using a separate tether with a distel hitch which climbing
Tremendous. People are trying to sell you shit that you dont need and theres the people that get the products for free that blindly push it
Amen to that! I agree with u 110%! 👊 💯 There's a ton of snake oil in the hunting industry.

You gotta stop with all this common sense stuff.....love it lol
Oh so beautiful snake oil you have on your stick

Lol. This made me laugh pretty good! Appreciate the encouragement
I disagree. I like the USA for my platform. I can do it with my eyes closed. For sticks i like a rope mod.
Mam I totally agree... nowadays I just wait for sometime of plug in a hunting video.. better yet go get some amsteel and teach yourself!! Keep it up
Thank you. And I'm with you! Can't lose yourself and your mission when you start to get a little attention

I belay on my carabiner
I make the USA rope mods myself. Man they work great, I've got 3 years on them now and they're perfect
Which stick is that? And what version stealth tape
Modified trophyline sticks before they made doubles. And strata stealth strips
@@AERIALASSAULT1 thanks not seeing a lot of people use the tl but imma pull the trigger on em
