  • Using the Match function, you can quickly find the row number of a particular string in a range. For instance, if you have a list of all 1618 cities in the State of New York, and you wish to find the row number of a particular city in this list, Match function will do your job.

    This is not what was advertised in the title. You showed how to find the relative position of an item in the list and the title promised to show how to get the absolute row number in the sheet.

    You only talked about one part and left out a wider range of match??? You came up sort... Ya said you would tell us later?? A year later??
