Goodbye Brando

This is a very sad #Landsblog. As you may have heard, Brando, the unofficial mascot of #SickNotWeak, is gone. For once, Michael doesn't have the words. It's hard to explain the importance of a pet, but if you have had one, you know.

My condolences to you and your family for the loss of your furry family member, Brando. Our family has a 9-year old Bichon Frise with white, curly hair named Chico and it brings tears to my eyes every time I ponder when he'll eventually pass away one day. You're right that dogs don't tend to "do much" in our lives - however, they "BE much" and mean so darn much to all of us. A lick on the face, a wag of the tail or a smile on their faces works wonders in our day to day lives eh? I always had cats before and they were just semi-social, but being an only child means that our dogs become like little brothers or children for us. I hope you and your family heal well in these next few weeks/months as your mourn Brando. Also, thanks so much for the daily blog and the tips to beat the stigma of mental health issues we deal with in our lives. You're the best, Michael! The blogs are very powerful and touching because you know how to be yourself and show the same vulnerable side that each of us has from day to day. Please take care and have a nice evening.
