13:32 you can tell that phantom is one of the casuals coming back after hearing about the dlc - black feathers cloak - powerstanced peelers - jump attack spam - bhs spam
1. Be at the rune level that appropriately corresponds to your weapon level for example RL 150 for max weapons, though in 2024 I've been leaning to RL117 to avoid 150. 2. Invasion matchmaking works by allowing you to invade areas only you have been to as the host. If you never take the elevator towards Maliketh or gone past the Drainage sewer site of grace, you won't invade into fogwalls for Maliketh or Malenia. This is not recommended for main characters but secondary characters. 3. Familiarise yourself with all locations, where the best is to adventure throughout the world slowly while you tried to invade. 4. Invade with both fingers and access them from the multiplayer menu. Don't try to access the invasion fingers in your quick slots or inventory, reserve that space for something else. 5. If you suspect pass word summons, block all the players you connect to to block resummoning and unblock after the invasion has ended. 6. Organise your talismans and weapons to optimise hardswaps. 7. Inherit the frenzy flame to make use of frenzy flame stones, and to acquire a zero weight sacred seal which is useable for every build. 8. Always be prepared, that means having many weapons available which usually means duplication of the same weapon for different infusions and different ashes of war, having rare consumables. Duplication allows for this and invaders are the best ones to make use of its benefits. I personally run around with 300+ weapon because I'm a every weapon enjoyer. 9. Where possible do as much range damage before engaging in melee, because a lot of invader deaths happen from being blendered in melee. Softening the host and co up so they have less crimson flasks means less damage you will have to do in melee. 10. Its okay to tactically retreat or finger sever if spawn into a bad invasion. 11. Acquire all talismans, crystal tears, perfume bottles, pots and upgrades. This seems like a no brainer but you'll be surprised at how lazy some players are in their preparation. 12. Practise new builds and strategies in coliseum. 13. Put blue hunter ring as an invader, this will inflate the hunter queue and if you spawn as a hunter sit back and don't help the host.
GANKERS HATE HIM - win more invasions with this ONE SIMPLE TRICK: sneak up and use radahn’s rain with golem arrows. Ima keep it real with you chief, the DLC needs a better AoW or incantation similar to thops barrier that’s usable on non-shield weapons to counter constant projectile spam. The options that exist for dealing with it currently are basically useless when fighting multiple casters. Something like Rejection that bounces projectiles off without sending it back at them. There has to be something to discourage brain dead spell spam in favor of more nuanced gameplay.
I can't comprehend the code logic that decided to lock onto the guy on the right at 3:58. Not only was the phantom on the left closer to the center of the screen, he was also much closer to Jee. What kind of amateur hour back-asswards coding nonsense could have created that outcome?
Being more patient was my biggest lesson to learn for invasions. In duels i like to be very aggressive and i was carrying that over to invasions and getting killed because of it. Over extending and getting punished for it, trying to get that last hit on the phantom before they go and heal and dying because of it etc etc. The phantom might heal but at least i'm still alive and have another chance. I've learned to find stay backa bit, pepper them with some greatbow shots if they don't want to approach me in an area that is not a wide open space and try to lead them into an area that has cover to duck behind to avoid spells or get a heal in myself. It has been a huge game changer adapting my play style to invasions and I win much much more now. Also setting up your inventory correctly is HUGE too.
There should be no projectiles that deal more than level 1 stun. The explosions that knock you down are fine because you get I-frames, but getting level 2 or 3 stunned at range and getting comboed into a couple more melee hits should be way more rare than it is.
Yeah let casters and L2 spammers tucker themselves out. They only play like this because they know if it came down to an honest duel they’d lose, and they also only have so much FP/blue estus. They’ll run out eventually
Realistically, unless these people are purposely set up to gank, we really cant say shit about projectiles. Were invading some other guys game, and he has no choice in the matter and neither do we when it comes to how they should play. It is what it is, but the last person ill blame is the dude who wanted to play a mage.

@@fartussnifusit’s a good read, can’t you see someone put in the effort to write all that?
I'm stupid - what was 5? (I play without password, is 5 irrelevant to me?)
I'm a PvE PhD / special ed invader, thx for the tips
The blocking the summons part is dirty as hell lol, I love it

I like your head space respect
Ever tried casting stars of ruin at radagon? I want that for me.
@@Yummomummo edit: I see what you mean, I’ve never tried it but that would be sick af
Assassins gambit on a dagger is what you need. Actual invisibility above 15 metres.
13:25 That rock is slippery 😄
Elden Ring realism 10/10

I left shooters to play souls and then ER came out…playing shooter again 💀
Elden ring is like touhou except your hitbox its 10 times bigger
G9 will you be making Archthrones vids??
If invasions are a cover shooter, what are duels?
I think they’re a game of rock paper scissors where you never have more than 3/5 bars
remember kids, the 4th flamestance is always a mixup
My advice is chainsaw PvErs
Better yet, play invasions like Halo 2 on legendary
😳
👉👈
Everyone gangsta until pvers chainsaw you back with their whole squad
Love how he makes a whole 15 minute video around one line of dialogue.
use only the lance man and dont forget to cheat the starlight shard and the golem arrows in
