I am from South Pacific island a Melanesia by race . I think it is important to understand clearly the similarities and different perceptions held by local and globalization on local development . Often we mostly mix up economic development and pure social development.
I definitely agree that studying Anthropology helps us better understand the term development and how that can be translate into local context or perception .

Amazing lecture. I was deeply impressed by the style of presenting the core of the subject with so much clarity. You included almost the entire spectrum of activities that form an essential part of the discipline of anthropology. I have seen a couple of videos and I would say your interpretation is fresh, interesting and present the opportunity to connect with the world in a totally new way. Looking forward for more lectures from you Sir.

I loved this introduction, especially the self-described "manic" speaking style. Lots of examples and anecdotes that are inspirational for creativity. I hope more videos of Professor Downey get uploaded.

Really, islamic conversions in Scottish prisons was about disenfranchisement, or being part of a dominant gang/group.... no, not a good thing.
If your man advised them to do nothing it was a bad call.
    Really bad call.
