@@billo469 I remember watching us play Bournemouth at home from the gods, we were really struggling at the time, and I looked at that side and remember thinking, we need a left footed winger on that right, someone with the presence next to Dec (as he was literally carrying Wilshere and Noble in that midfield) and someone to press that back line and we will go become a much, much better side. I knew what we needed but didnt think it would change us so drastically from a team right near the bottom to a side finishing in Europe. Bringing in Bowen, bringing in Souceck and converting Antonio to CF was a masterclass from Moyes. The summer he spent big, he tried to change it, but got it wrong IMO. There was a word going round that people are starting to 'work us out' but I didnt believe it tbh. I just think the first year we played in Europe, we run out of steam. Should have just kept the same philosophy and brought in better players to improve that system. I remember wanting a blistering right footed left winger, new full backs with pace, a 10 (either Lingard or a similar profile, someone who is mobile, who just wants to go and play up with the CF) and someone more in the Antonio mould, rather than a totally different profile, to compete/ offer cover, not a technical target man (Scamacca). I think he got that window really wrong and couldnt get it right from there. He made several errors after that IMO. Did not understand this blind loyalty to JWP last season; thought it really weakened our midfield and think it was a key factor in our midfield being so poor and resulted in us shipping so many goals. The moment we went back to a similar model to the one I'm mentioning last season, we started winning games again.

Convenient David forgets one of the relegations he got us out of he got us in to in the first place. Listening to him talk shows how out of touch he really is. We brought in so many players because he himself decimated the squad Such a fossil this man is - the disrespect from Allardyce calling supporters & ex players “punters” One of the most distrustful men in football. Lost the England job trying to make a few extra £££
These two guys have had good careers in football and you have to show them some respect for what they’ve achieved but that’s where I draw the line. The utter refusal to accept criticism is what pains me about these two. Most West Ham fans can appreciate what they both done for us but they got to a point where they couldn’t take us any further through their stubbornness and lack of tactical know how. Allardyce completed his job in securing us promotion and stabilising us as a premier league club but couldn't take us any further. With Moyes, he done well for us but the excluding the conference league the league form for the last two seasons were abysmal. A relegation battle followed by a very flattering 9th place finish. We got utterly played off the park by most teams last season as we let every team have the ball (even Sheffield at home) and due to our poor defence we conceded over 70 goals which is terrible. This included conceding 5 to Fulham, Palace and Chelsea! Having players like Kudus, Bowen, Paqueta, Alvarez and playing this way was clearly not acceptable to most fans and rightly so. Already with the new manager the players have come out and said how much better it's been. Steidten has finally been able to have control over transfers and we have a competitive squad.
Criticism from who? Even I was amazed at the amount of hostility Moyes received for a manager who finished top half 3 years out of 4 and won a trophy in the other year. That Europa Conference win was historic because went through the whole competition unbeaten. People who try to minimise that forget Villa, Spurs, Leicester and Chelsea (Who lost a game but may still win it) failed to achieve that.
Because your WANKERS! You think your bigger than what you are. Sam got you promoted, Moyes a trophy. Once this new manager starts losing, you will be screaming like a baby
Moyes is a coward of a coach. He had no balls and courage to go all out. That was so obvious in that game against Bayern Levetkusen in Germany. He pissed on himself through out the entire game. He had the players and materials but chosed to chicken in. He spent over 500 million pounds in four yrs but still used only 14 players and runned them to the ground. How pathethic
These two jokers made plenty of dosh for themselves, whilst in truth Neither of them would have any idea what the West Ham way is all about. For the most part their teams were atrocious to watch, negative spoiling football. Following the Hammers since 74, But never seen anything like the London stadium emptying against Arsenal at half time. Upwards and onwards for the hammers now, I’m just happy these two are long gone.
Most successful West Ham manager since Lyall. Maybe Greenwood. Three seasons in Europe, first trophy in 43 years and saved the club from relegation twice. Lyall got West Ham relegated twice.
@@ianmansfield68 West Ham were in the relegation zone when Moyes took over from Bilic, and one point above the relegation zone having lost 9 in 12 when Moyes took over from Pellegrini.
What a load of crap from Allardyce. I watched all of West Ham games and it was boring defensive rubbish. Yes we won a trophy but against low level European teams, any PL team should have won that.
@@17fire91they should have won it, they didn't take it seriously enough. They played youth players because they thought they would walk to the final. Seriously Villa should've blown that competition away last season
If Moyes was still to be West Ham coach. Kurt Zouma will still be playing as a captain. Even a dubai based club saw Kurt Zouma as surplus to requirememt because of his destroyed knees. Moyes ignored it. He has caused West Ham a huge financial lost. Players like Coufal,Ings,Cornet and Soucek are on fat salaries but they all dont bring any profitable sell on values.
This is why I can't get on to Mav. IMO, he was the best CB available last season (certainly right sided) and he was treated like back up. Feel like Moyes knocked his confidence.
Aguerd and Mavropanos had limited availability due to injury. That is why despite his knees Zouma was asked to play 39 games and Mavropanos did not reach 30. Mavropanos also made a lot of errors last year Brentford (A), Palace(H), Fulham(H) Burnley (H) costing us a lot of points. Zoumas knees was the main reason we moved for Harry Maguire who had we landed him we would still be in Europe.
Don’t expect much but be nice to try and keep the ball more against teams fighting relegation when at home. Not expecting it but frustrating when less possession every home game!
Early in Moyes time we had Covid and the club had to tighten its belt. We lost a lot of players from the squad for a loss meaning there was not much money from sales. Players lost from the squad with minimal funds raised include. 1.Sabastian Haller - Cost £45M sold for £22M 2.Phillipe Anderson Cost £35m left on a Free. 3. Andry Yarmolenko Cost £18M left on a Free 4. Fabien Balbuena Cost 5M left on a Free. Total loss over £80. I also should point out that Benrahma was purchased with the money raised from the sale of Grady Diangana not from inward investment. In that same window Moyes was desperate to sign Eze (Who is now tearing it up at Palace) and the deal fell through because post COVID there was no money. Only when WBA came in for Diangana did fund become available by which time Eze had signed for Palace. Moyes took us from relegation candidates to Europe in two years. But that squad was not ready for Europe. After one year of playing 12 games more than our rivals each season we started losing games we would normally win. When a club misses a transfer window it is not easy to catch up. The squad gets older and players take time to bed in. Moyes had to do all that while keeping us in Europe. It will be interesting to see how villa get on at the end of this season. Newcastle fell of quite a bit after just one season in Europe.

Fergie is a better judge of football than you. Moyes mistake at Man U was letting the coaching staff go. Having to sign up to 10 players and hardly any youth getting a look in last year, left an aging squad. Won a European trophy which was great which he should of done anyway spending close to half a billion quid.
Good for Big Sam that he's giving managers like Moyes and Pulis to speak their truth. That being said these interviews make it painfully obvious why they're not in jobs right now and probably will never get a big job. Both are woefully rigid and arrogant and play not to lose rather than play to win. Fans want to see their team have the ball and dominate possession because that's obviously more entertaining but also because if you have the ball you can't concede. Having possession is a way of defending. The fact that these two don't understand that and haven't been able to adjust shows why no one wants managers like them.
"Larger squad means that several players cannot play and that in turn means that those players become less satisfied over time," Moyes roughly said... Nowadays you can't go into a season with a squad or a player base of 16 or 18 players like you might have 20 or 30 years ago! Apparently he just doesn't understand! Although he has seen exactly what can happen if that is the case! Today you have a completely different number of games throughout the season, plus a ton of international games too! The competitions have become so bloated these days! You need a large and broad squad! And then it's the job of a good trainer to keep everyone happy in a way! It's that simple!
The reason you left was down to the fact your football made people’s eyes bleed it was that bad. Your last season saw us sit 10 men in our own penalty area yet you still oversaw a team that let in 74 goals. My only complaint is the board appear to have replaced you with a bloke who also hates to play decent attractive football

@@billo469 If I could get a DVD of that season we finished 6th! Loved the way we played during that spell. I remember opposition having the ball and me feeling so comfortable, thinking, once you get to our third, its going straight back in the opposite direction, and best believe were doing something with it..

Yep, he is taking the piss
Thank you for what you done for us David! But Sam is the one talking bs we played the same against shef utd and Burnley as we did against the big boys that is what frustrated us ⚒
Fifteen minutes in and I can’t take anymore. The Laurel & Hardy tune keeps popping up in my head for some reason.
Moyes got Sunderland and Real Soceidad relegated..why is he not talking about it?
This is why internet is a dangerous place, any one can post bulsht and people will believe it. Real Socided never got relegated under Moyes

And ur most successful managers by a mile. You lot are the most clueless fan base. Can’t wait until you lot regret moyes leaving again when you sack that fraud you’ve hired
Convenient David forgets one of the relegations he got us out of he got us in to in the first place.
Listening to him talk shows how out of touch he really is.
We brought in so many players because he himself decimated the squad
Such a fossil this man is - the disrespect from Allardyce calling supporters & ex players “punters”
One of the most distrustful men in football.

These two jokers made plenty of dosh for themselves, whilst in truth
Neither of them would have any idea what the West Ham way is all about.
For the most part their teams were atrocious to watch, negative spoiling football.

But never seen anything like the London stadium emptying against Arsenal at half time.
Upwards and onwards for the hammers now, I’m just happy these two are long gone.
😂 poor Natalie
Playing without supporters was obviously an advantage to Moyes because nobody could actually tell him just how crap he is as a manager.
we were actually at our best during co vid.Moyes had renewed energy at the time
Most successful West Ham manager since Lyall. Maybe Greenwood. Three seasons in Europe, first trophy in 43 years and saved the club from relegation twice. Lyall got West Ham relegated twice.

@@damiandamico4715 yes he did. Mav looks solid under J Lo.
1.Sabastian Haller - Cost £45M sold for £22M
2.Phillipe Anderson Cost £35m left on a Free.
3. Andry Yarmolenko Cost £18M left on a Free
Thank you david for everything at west ham and you big sam you both give me best day out in football
Moyes never played positive football All fear. why Fergy selected him for Man U was the biggest mistake ever Moyes showed his limitations and standards
At Everton he played with fear He is not the only manager there are many to follow Southgate was full of fear
Fergie is a better judge of football than you. Moyes mistake at Man U was letting the coaching staff go. He should have left the whole structure in place and studied it for a year to learn how Fergie had put it all together and only then begun to make changes.
Ironically that was the same mistake Souness made with Liverpool when he replaced Dalglish.

Moyes should shut up. His interviews are making him look a c ...
7:49 Sam Micheal Beale and Frank Lampard are trying to call you 😂😂😂
Good for Big Sam that he's giving managers like Moyes and Pulis to speak their truth.
Only, he's being selective over what he's saying.
Bang on right fella
"Larger squad means that several players cannot play and that in turn means that those players become less satisfied over time," Moyes roughly said...
Nowadays you can't go into a season with a squad or a player base of 16 or 18 players like you might have 20 or 30 years ago! Apparently he just doesn't understand! Although he has seen exactly what can happen if that is the case! Today you have a completely different number of games throughout the season, plus a ton of international games too! The competitions have become so bloated these days! You need a large and broad squad! And then it's the job of a good trainer to keep everyone happy in a way! It's that simple!
The disappointment on here was fans never single out players for their poor performance always blaming the manager.
