Great video shame there was no instructions with the playstation 1 games . Retro games down watling street in milton keynes is selling castlevania symphony of the night for £400.00 in nearly mint condition they also do trade ins as well and worth checking out.
Thank you mate I really appreciate it! Yup it’s frustrating for sure! Thanks for the heads up, if I’m ever in that neck of the woods i’ll check it out 👍🏻🕹
Just out of curiosity why is the manual important? I have well over 500 games and majority have manuals but I’ve never read one. I mean unless you’re looking to sell it as CIB shouldn’t be that important anyway considering it’s going to be on your shelf.
To be honest mate it’s purely because I want the complete game. You’re 100% right it shouldn’t matter but it does. It’s the same thing as wanting the black label game instead of the platinum version. I can’t justify it really but it’s just what I want 😅 thanks for watching I appreciate it 👍🏻🕹
A few days ago I also bought a suikoden 2 from cex and they sent me this game from Edenburg, unfortunately there are no instructions. I wonder should I give back this copy of the game because the disc is in great condition.
At the end of the day it’s up to you mate it’s just my personal preference that I want the manual. It makes no difference to your playing experience however if you ever decide to sell the game on at a later date be prepared to not get back as much money as a copy with the manual.
The only way you're guaranteed to get a CEX roulette high value game complete with manual and mint condition is if you pay the extra for the "mint" example. That Klonoa game is available in "mint" condition for £190 and is in stock.
Yup I’ve been thinking about doing that as well however it’s kind of annoying to pay £40 extra for the manual when some of the “non-mint” copies may have the manual! Thanks for watching 👍🏻🕹
@@retro_rummage_ yeah I hear you! But CEX are incredibly strict when it comes to rating retro games as mint. I've taken a sealed N64 game in which had a tiny crease in the box and it didn't go in as mint. I've also traded in absolutely flawless games which were essentially brand new and they did go in as mint so if you pay the extra for a mint game it should be absolutely perfect and complete 👍
Ive just been collecting steelbooks for some reason i love them unfortunately my cex now never have any in anymore and if they do there always scratched
Just a quick question for you mate, how much of the games that you buy do you actually play? Not a taking the piss question at all btw, I just would like to know, because I feel like atm I can't stop looking to buy the next game, and I've got a massive collection of games to get through at this point lol, so I'm really just curious. Cheers.
Hi Dan as you can imagine I’m quite busy in real life, I have a full time job plus I hit the boot sales most weekends etc so I don’t have tons of time to play. I maybe play 3-4 hours of games a week. I would definitely say I’m more of a collector than a gamer and there’s no shame in that. If you love collecting games, collect them! If I had more spare time I would play more games but unfortunately I have to be an adult and go to work 🤣👍🏻🕹
Bad luck mate, they need to start grading games the same way as consoles for example: a being mint boxed all in great condition with everything, b - boxed and complete but some item not in as good as a rated, c being boxed with no manual and they really need to start reflecting this. Hopefully you'll have some luck soon. On another note I saw Batman Forever PS1 at 2 stores local to me if ever you happen to be in central and north of the county you can perhaps check them before buying? Hopefully they are not ones you've traded in.
Yup they need to change it for sure! Thanks though mate hopefully my luck changes 🤣 oh really thanks! There’s a Batman in CEX Chelmsford that I’m thinking of driving there in a week or so! Fingers crossed 🤣👍🏻🕹

I 100% agree with their site or calling about the manual I've so many games on my saved items on the app but unless theyre in nstoew I can drive too I won't buy unless it's a loose cartridge
Yeah it would make it a lot easier however I spoke to someone in a CEX store and he said if they had a telephone number they’d be on the phone non stop instead of serving customers 😅👍🏻🕹
That's such a mad policy CEX have of not listing the state that the games are in.....I suppose they are banking on the buyer not being bothered to send it back but if they are paying big money then it's always going to go back. If they just took pictures or listed boxed/complete or otherwise then it would save so much time and effort for all concerned. Shame it didn't work out with these for you though because they're definitely 2 stellar titles to have in the collection.
This problem would be sorted if they required a manual to trade in certain games, anyone willing to pay these prices for a game are obviously a collector so won't accept it without it being complete... its such a waste of time and cex are going to sit on those for so long, getting them returned constantly. It's the reason I haven't ordered online from them at all
