To be completely honest, if I *had* to have an lps fish I’d probably choose the gen four design, purely because their foreheads don’t extend to deep space.

As an aquarist, maybe unless you're making a fish species that has a nuchal hump and want realism. In this case it might help since freshwater angle males have a slight hump but even so irl it makes them look kinda hideous like idk what female fish are on to think that's cute n stuff 😭

The gen4 angelfish model looks way more realistic and just better in general than the old model, in my opinion.

Hello! idk If anybody said what the fish was or not that you eventually made Mrs. Pancake into but its called the "striped Boarfish", which while it isn't related to angelfish even a tiny bit are cool looking lol. you were probably mistaking the angelfish with the "Black and white butterflyfish" which has a ton of other names but also isn't related to the angelfish at all but does have a much more angelfish look! the closest angelfish pattern that comes to mind that looks like these would be the Zebra angelfish, which do sometimes have yellow. mixed up your fish a bit but considering these all have a similar patterning cant really blame you. Just thought to let you know cause i think fish are neat and i like to give people fun info about fish and what a certain fish is called so people can look them up! :)

It cant be a butterflyfish, or else its nose would be longer.

a fellow brown eye lover I see, glad I am not alone in this venture against the bright eyed lover majority. All eyes are gorgeous but there's just something so soft and welcoming about a good warm brown. Anywho it turned out beautiful!

Snorkeling is very fun. :) Many coral reefs are beautiful, but my favorite experience was snorkeling with sharks...greatly misunderstood creatures who would be excellent LPS custom candidates (in my opinion).
Bottom line...sharks are cool and I highly recommend snorkeling.
Before the transformation I think she’s definitely not one of the uglier ones of this generation, though the color choice is odd and the tail looks weird. The transformation looks awesome!

I had never even known about the world of LPS customs until your video last week showed up in my recommended. I love it, this is such a fun art form and the bases are so silly! I'm really glad that this corner of the internet exists!!!
Next time you need to do symmetry on a two sided object, place a mirror where you can see the backside as you paint the front. It really helps.
I love these! I highly recommend you try to customize the G3/G4 prairie dog, deer, one of those nasty fairies, the swan, pig, zebra and horse!
Does anyone just feel… something when she is painting.. like with the background music and everything thing, it’s like therapy 🥺
For fins that are clear or see through I'd recommend resin and molds to mold fins that you can paint and put on the figure after cutting off the ones you want. UV resin, clear molds, and a UV light is best. You can even add mica powder or things into it to make more details before hardening the resin...
You can find someone who makes resin molds to get the molds you want in the size you want if you can't find any you like being sold online...

I would love for you to turn this into a series! In fact, I have lps suggestions that could turn into quite a challenge considering how ugly they are.
I will be referring to these Lps as "gen 3".
1. The g3 crab. If you can make this lps cute, you will be a wizard.
2. G3 giraffe. Just look it up...
3. G3 pig. It looks like a demon.
4. Gen 3 horse. Honestly this one has a little hope but it's still.... Meh. There are two types of horses though.
5. G3 bee. Honestly this one is more interesting but the head is literally a egg shape.💀
6. Last but not least, the g3 dachshund. I don't know but something about it keeps me up at night...
These are a few suggestions but in generation 3, there's a lot to choose from. XD
I may have ordered a few of these…

So cute!❤ the dorsal fin looks purposeful with the black stripes. I definitely think separating the body so that it wasn’t some wierd continuation of its head instead of a fin was HUGE improvement. The only thing I would have done differently would be to maybe cut the tail off and redo the back completely with some foil and clay. remake the tail or glue/mold it back on. Though that would have been a lot more added work. I also loved seeing the old art piece and seeing how much you've grown as an artist. I used to think remaking old art was wierd and pointless, but after trying it myself, there's something really gratifying about putting the remake next to something even just a year old and just going... wow look at me go!

22:30, I've lived by the beach my whole life and it has definitely lost its appeal for me! However, I don't live in tropical waters so I think I'd still be fascinated by seeing tropical fish in their natural habitat

You did a great job! I think the base is actually a fresh water Angel fish tho. A lot of fish are “classified” as Angel fish in both the sea and fresh water so it makes it very confusing. Fresh water Angel fish are very flat like that. None the less, you made them look great! I adore the way you do eyes

Gosh the color combo you built for her is so perfect!! And the zebra stripes help disguise the weird flat dropoff on the back and give it a rounder profile so well! I also really live the more fluid and textured fin sculpts! Beautifully done!

youtube recommended me this channel and i'm loving it! i loved lps as a kid, didn't have a super big collection bc they were expensive in my country but i still have all my lps from childhood to this day, and watching your custom videos is really fun and relaxing, honestly it made me want to try to do some toy custom too :) keep up the great work!

Beautiful custom!! I think you should try customizing g5 lps. They are made out of a weird rubbery metarial so it def would be a fun challenge to see if its easy or hard to paint it :> My favourite g5 mold is the papillon dog!
I found that with the Americana paint it's easier to cover the rubbery material! But I agree. Seeing multiple generations of lps customs is fun!!

It could be bc I've never had an LPS and never got into them but the comparison between the old and new from LPS makes me like the new one more? The old/original looks like someone put fins on an Easter egg and the gen 4 (?) one looks like an actual fish

Little late to the party but some of my all-time favorite ocean animals are orcas and ribbon seals!! I think an LPS ribbon seal would be a really unique custom idea, might have to make one for myself!

The colouring reminds me of Gill from Nemo. He was not an angelfish tho, he was a moorish idol fish. Tbh you totally could use this base to make a Gill figurine. You could just modify the dorsal fin in a different way, because they just have like the spiky bit with no frilly bit
