Disappointing that some players want to see me going into a knife fight with a fragile ship like Andalucia and die in the first minute. But seeing me playing to the strenghts of the ship somehow makes them disapprove? If I had an Alaska, Ägir, Siegfried, Schröder, we can talk. But if you have an Andalucia, you cannot play the tank for your super cruisers. That would be dumb!
Between all the ship choices for this season she was the best my port had to offer and I finished all brawl stages with a 58% winrate in this brawl season in Andalucia. By playing to her strengths, not by suiciding to the amusement of the enemy team. Parties in other video game titles have combat roles: there are tanks, there are range fighters, healers, spell casters and so on. It's not too different in WOWS and an Andalucia is not an Ägir and can't be played like one.
For everybody who wished not to have me on his side in a battle like this - hey, you may have ended the game with a defeat, if instead the Andalucia player you have does you the favor and rushes into the thick of the battle. With me you had a lot of fire support and the win in the end, you have to decide what's more important for you. I'd take the victory for the team, but that's just my opinion, cause I play to win and not to blow the match and betray my team mates.
Well played great video, yep people criticise everyone in the game however you play, play to your strengths.
This was a game from last week Tuesday. I didn't play brawls on Monday, so I started that season on Tuesday. First I tried the Michelangelo for some games and found her not really fitting into the meta. Then I had a game in a smoke Neptune and two in the Drake and then I switched to Andalucia. Which started to work out best of all these four ships available. In one of the early matches I almost had a ram against an Alaska and so I decided to equip a speed flag and a ramming flag (didn't put any other flags on the ship throughout the brawl session).
Was always to be thought as my last weapon of choice - if getting cornered by Alaskas or Ägirs, go for the ram! Rarely works, cause they smell it coming and gun you down before you can make the contact... 😞

Sadly your correct. The amount of players who play with themselves instead of "as a team" is astonishing. 99% just DGAF and to me seems like they are here just to piss us players off who want to play this game like it's intended!
well, imo you made the right strategic calls (like opening up a crossfire with the Schroeder at the end) but your use of HE/AP and the burst fire could still use some more work. You lost a good chunk of DPM by using the burst too much as well as some opportunities for citadels. But still well played to you Sir, that is certainly the match of a lifetime 👍

This was basically Game of Throws. Buffalo needed to stop shooting and just sail away the moment Agir died. If Andalucia would made it to central cap before points run, just melt it with HE while kiting.
That was already true around 6:00, the red team had the cap and points advantage, all they had to do was kite away.
I don’t think it’s a Game of Throws, because like Jingles said….who expects to face a cruiser running a ramming flag?
@@tsunami729 There is no way on earth the Buffalo (or even the entire team) should have needed it to come down to if a cruiser had a ram flag or not, it was a gigantic throw from the Buffalo and a big one from the red team as a whole. Alaska charges two ships for no reason instead of kiting away & gets blown up, then the Buffalo from the moment he killed the Schroder could have gone dark and capped with his below 11km concealment, while the Andalucia was pointing the wrong way, then run off to the middle behind an Island and won the game.
@@tsunami729 Still... The Buffalo was forced to reverse, so he had no chance in hell of avoiding the ram. By capping B, then just get into the kiting position, he would for sure survive it. Game would probably be 3 mins longer, but he would have a better chance of surviving.
@@tsunami729 This is irrelevant. He didn’t need to push in and get third cap to win. But he wanted to win harder and instead he lost. Typical throw.
When I used to play, I ran a ramming flag on DDs, CA/CLs & Battleships. Ramming with a DD was awesome when you survived it, it was the old-school version of a guided torpedo.
From battle to battle I have an occasion, where this is a result when the dice roll rite, ( I have shitty rolls way too often ) but whoever it is, watching a win like this makes staying to the end worth it.

Tbf, a ramming flag makes complete sence in this situation. In a cruiser only 5v5, if it gets to 1v1 like this, at least he had that option. I was thinking ‘well the buffalo can just ram him as he has more points’ smart move 👀😜
I was thinking the same thing, ramming damage is based on speed, Buffalo may have killed the Lucia even with the flag.
to quote a friend playing Battletech and some of his mech choices: "one should never forget the tactical necessity of sometimes being able to do the funniest thing possible" and that feels relevant indeed for putting a ramming flag on a cruiser.

Every time i see a Schöder in this game i got the almost uncontrolable urge to send the replay to Jingles as an example of unfair plane and kempin bush.

Nice throw from the Buffalo. All he had to do was stop shooting when he entered C cap. He wouldn't have got stuck behind the island, would have been able to cap it without being shot to pieces and then sail off to defend the two caps and win the game easily.
I think kiting and firestarting ships like the Andalucia, Azuma and Drake do have a spot in the brawling meta because the Alaska's weaknesses include slow shells and all supercruisers including the Alaska suffer from Battleship fire durations without the Fire Prevention skill

By my reckoning, that ram cost the Andalucia ~11k hp of damage. The damage from a ram is, IIRC, the full health of the ships, 47800 in the case of the Buffalo. The ramming flag advertises "Damaged received from ramming an enemy -20%". 11000/47800 is about .23, so he took 23% of the health of the Buffalo in ramming damage. The wiki on ramming waves a hand at the idea that ramming damage takes relative speed into account, and I've definitely seen it happen that a low-speed ram does less damage. I think that's what happened here. The reason nobody runs the ramming flag is that reducing damage taken by 20% probably won't be important, and I would say it wasn't important here either, as even if the Andalucia had taken 20% more damage, it would still be afloat.
I remember using my Alabama in Brawl. Bodied a lot of Tirps and Massholes, too. Fast enough to keep range open, with guns that can take advantage of it.
Feels like a missed opportunity for a spanish inqusition joke with that random ramming flag on a spanish ship.

I'm not quite sure that he was running a ramming flag, actually. It was a very low speed impact, after all, and likely deliberately so. Even without the flag, he might well have survived the ram anyway.
Exactly, it is due to relative speed, not to -20% damage from the flag. I'm a bit surprised there is no other comment to point this out

Brawls, ranked and Clan Battles are a mandatory condition to run a ram flag. You never know when your going to need it, but when you do need it, you need it.

So sooooo close! You should have called it 'the kiss of death' lol. That wasn't a ram. That was a gentle shove with a quick, cheeky peck on the cheek and an insincere "sorry not sorry!" followed by a slap on the ass. The Buffalo mustn't have been keeping an eye on the points! I would have quit for the rest of the day at least and gone seal clubbing in WoT or teaching Democracy with heavy weapons to bugs in Helldivers.

I have 5236 ram flag those are very cheap for RP , and I use those on every ship as in game there are submarines , that are easy to ram even by DD .

I don’t play WoW, but if he knew he was going into the brawl mode, which you said restricts the type of ship and tier, then doesn’t a ramming flag make some sense, even on a cruiser? Since everything else will be a cruiser, too.

Jingles! Just a quick Spanish lesson for you... Andalucía would be pronounced On-duh-loo-see-uh, roughly speaking. I'm not the greatest at phonetic spelling, especially for someone who has an accent that I do not share, but hopefully the point still comes across. Also, anything that has little tick mark accent is a marker for what syllable (or letter, in this case) should be emphasized. Figured I'd drop that since you said you didn't know how the Spanish pronounce it! Although, Spanish people actually from Spain pronounce "s" sounds like "th" sounds like a cultural lisp, so maybe the "see" in the phonetic spelling should be "thee."

Not that bizarre. I run am and det flags on all ships in Brawls, Ranked and CB. They're a waste in randoms, but in the lower-pop modes, they are worth it.

Well actually Jingles... It's not the ramming flag alone that saves the game, but the relative speed. Ramming at full speed does 100% of your ship maximum HP, and the flag reduces it by 20%. So a full speed ram would have lead to 47800*0.8 = 38240 damages dealt to the Andalucia. Which is > to his 16k HP he had at the moment.
However, if the ramming occurs at low relative speed, the damages dealt are very much reduced. And it was the case here, with the Buffalo retreating the relative speed seems to be less than 10kts. So both took less damages, and the first tick of damage killed Buffy and not Andy.
Conclusion : if Buffalo had accept the ram, both would have die and the red team, with more points, would have won this. So, it's kind of a throw.
