Not running the trap is certainly a choice. The deck appreciates a third search for Duodrive yes but MORE IMPORTANTLY Plug-In needs a target to equip from deck. Equipping Plasma Hole means you can XYZ summon on their turn, in hands with more extension this can turn into a reactive XYZ on their turn, this acts as a way to make the Ryzeal board FAR more layered and less 2-dimensional. You are doing a lot of guess work without the trap for who to go for, options like Dweller become really hard to use game 1 without info on who you are fighting. It also allows you to remake Detonator if they have the out for him. For example, at 10:24 you could have instead sent Duodrive with Node to bring back a Ryzeal, made Detonator, DON'T draw, and then set Plug. On their turn this gives you the ability to comfortably flex between a lot. I havent been playing yugioh for very long (only about 2 years) and i havent been around for times a rank 4 deck has been good, so this is new to me and im very excited for it. Though rip to my wallet when it releases though lol
as a huge interaction proponent and a wannabe board game designer: yes, they give you a lot of interaction. However, they also homogenize deckbuilding. If only there was a way to make handtraps that are not generic for ALL of decks to run but can bolster some strategies *looks at havnis and arias*
@@Kylada-o5t That's exactly the thing. EVery strategy should have its own in-archetype interaction of the opponent's turn. Tearlament was definitely a step in the right direction and only too strong because it was the only deck that could do these things in-engine at the time. I'm not even a fan of tear, but we need more decks like ot, or rather, other decks should catch up to its standard. I am a big Generaider fan, for example - giving them a searchable handtrap that basically says "when your opponent activates an effect that would add a card(s) to their hand: you can discard this card; place 1 "Generaider Boss Stage" in your field spell zone" would already fix a lot of their problems they have going second and allow you to at least do SOMETHING on your opponent's turn outside of generic handtraps like Ash or Imperm. I hate how many decks are like "go first or bust if you didn't draw your one card starter plus 4 pieces of non-engine". Makes me not want to play the game until things have changed.
That's why I say that what people want is not interaction, but reaction and forcing change of courses. Removing the opponent's interaction is a form of interaction after all.
what even is that build. what are we doing here exactly. why are we playing 20 hand traps when ocg builds are playing like 12. where's the hole thruster
This deck really is just the confluence of every design mistake. Every other game you’ll open 1 name + 4 non-engine and look at your opponent like “I didn’t even go yet and I’m already at 4 negates”

@@alexbaccaro8578That's because 20 HTs are no longer necessary in the OCG. Previous formats Ryzeal was indeed on 20+ non-engine and so was everything else. TCG is still in that phase.
@alexbaccaro8578 In a way, yes you are right. But at the same time, an engine being this good and having this many non-engine slots isn't fun. I mean even if they replace hand traps with breakers, it isn't fun getting the Tenpai experience and getting "board broken" to death.

Yes ultimate slayer is good against the deck. But it doesn’t kill it. The one card combo literally plays around it. By leaving an extra level 4 body on field and plug attaching plasma hole from deck. You can quick Xyz into another detonator
I love how MBT shits on this upcoming format because "handtraps+small efficient engine boring" when that's literally the current format. Zoom into the pie chart and everyone is running close to 20 handtraps and fiendsmith, with the only difference being the 4-5 card backup engine they play to make it seem like muskets or kashtira actually topped. Ryzeal looks really fun, and the deck has space so you can build the deck in different ways, even a version with 20 hand traps lol
Wow joseph hasn’t sound so alive like this since swordsoul
I was really hoping we'd see something from the current meta in game 3. We can talk all we want about how Ryzeal and Maliss are both gonna be good, but I really would have liked to see how they fit into TCG format rather than what the future *might* look like.
I mean Ryzeal is also the future. It's perfectly reasonable to pit the two decks that will see meta play against each other.
I've been playing the master duel 2014 throwback event and ngl, this decklist looks remarkably similar to the Satellarknight list they have for trial.
A rank 4 engine and a bunch of interaction.
And just like that, you get the like off the opening skit once again. It's truly impressive how you can speak directly to the rot in my brain so succinctly. Bravo
this might be the intro of all time
I have been waiting for this
Pretty much an effective, but boring rank 4 deck.
@@chrisjr6214I'll take boring Rank 4 over Snakes and Cyberse any day.
I’m just glad Konami didn’t go with their original plan for localizing the Ryzeal names
Skibidi Ryzeal
Sigma Ryzeal
Ohio Ryzeal
Ryzeal Gyatt Plug
Can't wait for the day I'll get to put this in my Time Thief Vaalmonica deck to turn it into a true pile!
It's a shame the Armored XYZ doesn't work with this deck.
COME ON OUT NUMBER 39
UUUUUUUUTOPIAAA
NOW WE PLAY RANK UP MAGIC NUMERON FORCE
THIS ALLOWS US TO USE UTOPIA TO REBUILD THE OVERLAY NETWORK
GO! CHAOS XYZ EVOLUTION! APPEAR! CHAOS NUMBER 39: UTOPIA RAAY VIIICTORYYY!
I think this deck is really fun and cool :(
I play the toybox stuff with it cuz i think its a more fun way to play the deck, and i also play the ryzeal trap cuz i think its funny to use its gy effect during my opponents turn and either hard make draco future or if my xyz monster survived a battle in mp2 go into zeus. I play rafflesia and gravediggers trap hole, to both protect duodrive during my turn and send the ryzeal trap (since its a hole) during my opponents. I dont play these ''techs'' because i think its the most optimal way to play the deck, i play it because i have more fun with the deck like that. And hell, it can still do what this version tries to achieve, which is set up detonator (rip deadnader) and plug in and cross.
I havent been playing yugioh for very long (only about 2 years) and i havent been around for times a rank 4 deck has been good, so this is new to me and im very excited for it.
I know that 20 handtraps is technically the most optimal way to play the deck, but if you think its boring than you can just do a more interesting build of the deck (i know that TMT is a special case where you kind of have to use the best version, but my point still stands.)
Though rip to my wallet when it releases though lol
But joseph! All those hand traps give you so much *InTeRaCtIoN!!1!*
as a huge interaction proponent and a wannabe board game designer: yes, they give you a lot of interaction. However, they also homogenize deckbuilding. If only there was a way to make handtraps that are not generic for ALL of decks to run but can bolster some strategies *looks at havnis and arias*
@@Kylada-o5tFree Ishizu
@@happycamperds9917 as a tearlaments enjoyer, Absolutely fucking not. Do not unban those mistakes...
0:48 what doesthe clip mean and why MBT used it as reference for the opening sketch?
2:01 MBT explains Ryzeal's game
It's the rizzler, because ryzeal...
@_crysack2502 what's the rizzler?
@ianr.navahuber2195 a rizzler a person with rizz. Rizz is cool kid slang for charisma.
@@ianr.navahuber2195when was the last time you were online?
what even is that build. what are we doing here exactly. why are we playing 20 hand traps when ocg builds are playing like 12. where's the hole thruster
Ocg doesn't have yubel and snake eyes at close to full power like we do
Because OCG lists have Maxx C and can get away with less non-engine. Plus people just straight up build decks differently in the TCG.
Because they have 6 extra searchers we don’t have
@@astercat49I don't think the bug has that much to do with it, even ocg snek lists are playing a minimum of 15 hand traps
@@nigamnationthis makes sense I suppose
This deck really is just the confluence of every design mistake. Every other game you’ll open 1 name + 4 non-engine and look at your opponent like “I didn’t even go yet and I’m already at 4 negates”
The deck isn't the issue, it's the format
Ryzeal in the ocg is playing like half the number of hand traps
The deck is actually healthily designed because filling your deck with 20 hand traps isn't the right answer for it
@@alexbaccaro8578this. I don’t get why people would rather fill the deck with 20 HTs. I have a centurion build that can still run 15-18 hts
*BuT mY iNtErAcTiOnS!!1!!1!*
Now that decks are designed to have the same 15-20 none engine and 15-25 engine pieces; what is the best deck mash up? Like how many keywords can we shove in a deck profile title before it buckles under its own weight?
Kashtira diabellstar azamina snake eye fiendsmith yubel mulcharmy ghost girl dominus triple tactics crystal beast nemeses pot of ; (the ; is for masq and little knight)
A high percentage of the "good format-decks" were still 70% non engine, don't let it fool you
Ryzeal had so much potential when the art was revealed I was excited for a robot based archetype of many ranks and fun xyz but now that it's on the horizon idk if I'm excited anymore with the cards rarities being bumped up so much as well as their field literally being pass on 2 monsters idk how to feel
If enough yugitubers parrot the same narrative the community will believe anything
I hate how they used this awesome art for the most boring thing ever. Hate tear and even snake eyes all you want, this is the most boring meta we’ll have in years imo
Yah serious ugg it not even some hard to Kill
10 min testing *looks inside* 18 min...maybe someday.
The intro just slayed me 😂
Bro that intro was awesome!
I mean... We're talking about how hard it is for new players to get into Yugioh all the time. If you want a "fun" and "multi-layered" deck, there's a lot of those. Let idiots have some fun too.
21 non-engine, 4 pots and 3 bonfires....the absolute state of yugioh. I could tolerate a meta where you maximize the odds of drawing 2 non-engine but 4 non-engine + starter is disgusting
Best intro yet😤
I miss when I was hyped for this deck, back when they'd only revealed Detonator's artwork.
The year is 2014. The best deck in the room plays an unusually large amount of nonengine and sits on a quick effect pop.
The year is 2024. The best deck in the room plays an unusually large amount of nonengine and sits on a quick effect pop.
Wow. Cynet Backdoor being a useful super. I guess being able to banish your own stuff on response to things and trigger more effects off of it is pretty good.
So few things to say that this was almost 10 minutes again
Funny. Yugioh players really do look at the simplest monster engine they can and go 'can I run this with 21 handtraps'
Stick Chair crawled so that Ryzeal could perform cold fusion
If you played the Ryzeal trap the you can play around a lot of board breakers
As an insomniac, Im glad this deck was created
The ryzeler haunts my dreams
yugioh has surprised me in recent years with innovative archetypes that push card design to new highs
and then they make ryzeal
i can't recall any archetype in the last couple years that is remotely innovative. centur-ion i guess?
Ryzeal feels like a link spam deck that just xyz with a low ceiling board that plays a million hand traps
@@readumineko906 Bait used to be believable
I was gonna hat on this deck, but it locks you into rank 4's. The power it has by locking you is what I want in a deck.
over 20 hand traps did make my stomach turn
That intro made me laugh much more than it had any right to
Finally the "I cant believe its not Utopia" turbo
So here's the deck:
12 main deck archetype cards and 4 extra deck...
I LOVE YUGIOH
I LOVE 75% OF EXTRA DECK AND MAIN DECK SPACE BEING THE SAME REGARDLESS OF STRATEGY
Wdym there Is no Little knight on this list
Huh? There's only 1 link monster in this list. And it's not S:P.
funnily enough thats what GOAT format has been. We are returning to monke
The extra deck being the same as every other deck is completely not true
Ran into this deck on edopro while playing an umi deck was really fun getting everything I tried to do handtraped and then getting otk’d
After watching this video the thing I'm most excited for is to see Twitch chat spamming emotes whenever Malice flips up o7
i cant wait for the next format! go fish and draw the silver bullet lets go!

_Bring me my Rank 4 binder..._
I hope you make a video on the new jurrac supports, it really changes up the dino deck
My buddy craig loves this deck
I'm so ready for this deck to hit the streets like... exosister
Which also did really well in fhe ocg and less here
Like the current OCG lists are using tachyon to scythe lock you out of the side deck AND to lancea the other best deck, Maliss
It's a very specific meta that we aren't likely to have
I can tell by the tone of your voice that you are _very_ enthusiastic about this deck.
I was half expecting you to go HONK SHOO HONK SHOO when you got to the cons
Yeah… I’m just gonna keep vibing on Pokemon for a bit longer
Why do I feel like Joseph will LOVE maliss
He filmed a new ygoprodeck spot!!!!
ITS THE GOD DAMN RHYZLER
Hm -- part of me was kinda expecting all 3 matchups today to be against Fiendsmith (something) after hearing those first 2
this was just Go Fish with extra steps
MonoBlueTron being held at gunpoint by the Ryzeal while making this video
Wow, this deck cured my insomnia
