Hi there so I’m curious to know what the laws are exactly for yielding to emergency vehicles in Singapore. I remember learning somewhere that emergency vehicles generally don’t have the right of way unless they deem it urgent enough. Maybe you could fill in the gaps?
Hi there, to answer your question regarding the yielding of emergency vehicles. Usually, drivers can beat the red light if it is safe to do so and ensure they're a member of public safety is not being compromised. The way we triage here is priorities p1+/p1/p2/p3 or p4. Usually, p1+ or p1 are the cases where the ambulance is allowed to beat the lights provided it is safe to do so. Every time an emergency ambulance beat a redlight especially with *camera*, we have to write and report it and they will retrieve footage to see if the driver beat the light safely or not. TBH it is very troublesome and that is why we rarely see it in Singapore
Not giving way to emergency vehicles in Singapore is an offense, carrying fines and demerit points. As for the emergency vehicle drivers themselves, they had been trained that if necessary they can bypass traffic laws if necessary and safely - although the law had not previously authorized them to do so and hence needed justification if a report is made. Recent legislation updates gives them the exemption in law to make that clearer.
Front is good, sides are good, but rear is mess They should sync all the rear and remove white from rear In night time white blinds the motorists who are passing by and it is dangerous, you dont want to blind people
Coincidentally I saw the same ambulance yesterday, wow
ngl idk why wld they remove rumbler from 7th gen it was so nice with the rumbler
The wail for the 7th generation is long and loud than the normal ambulance so I think they don't want to add rumbler to the siren
This siren unit can be configured as dual siren tones. Guess scdf only use single tones. Checkout Code 3 Banshee. How i wish they add rumbler.
Also the rumbler with the siren are still use today they just have so many 7th gen ambulance my mom almost get ran over by 6th gen ambulance
Nice catch!
0:00 Sounded like a Whelen Siren
it's probably Haztec siren..

All i know in such cases there are 3 which are P1 P2 and P3 case where only P1 is very critical situation hence beating the red light in this video

In the past few months, SCDF has removed white lights from the back and sides of the ambulances which I assume is due to feedback from the public
