I'm having a Datejust 41 and find it too big even with my 19.3cm wrist. Main problem is the lug to lug size of 47.3mm which creates a gap at both sides and a huge gap at one side when it slides down your wrist making it quite uncomfortable. I have a 39 Seiko with 38mm bezel which sits perfectly on my wrist as it has only 44.3mm lug to lug size.

As a person who torn between 36mm and 40mm, i have concluded that it depends on what kinda brand and design language they approach. Rolex's design language has always been about sportiness and ruggedness that go along with elegance. So i think the datejust 41 make more sense. To put it in perspective, you can't expect a Seiko turtle to wear small and elegance on your wrist when it's make for ruggedness.
size is a matter of preference and wrist size. but the 36mm looks correct in proportions while to me, sorry to say it, the 41 looks like a cheap Chinese made copy of the datejust. proportions all wrong, bezel too thick/wide. just my opinion, harder to tell in this vid but having tried both on this was my feeling. so its not the "size" that bothers me.... but the proportions of the watch
I fully agree. I was set on the 41 because a) all my other watches are 42 and b) it’s actually 39,x so closer to 40. But something just felt off. And first I thought it was the lug to lug as the lugs are actually quite long, but on closer inspection it’s the proportions, mainly the bezel. 41 just feels like a different watch. If you like that more and can wear it: great. Personally I’ll go with the classic 36.
I think that 41 is more balanced given that the thickness is the same. Also from the measurements the real number is 39,5 thus it wears smaller than 41. What matters most is the lug to lug on wearability rather than just the case size
You make some good points. I however, prefer the dj36. Imo it's a dress watch and 39.5mm is approaching sports watch size territory. But overall both are amazing 👌
