@5:30 the best answer.. Wise man.. Think Wise.. Rabbi Friedman is a RESPECTED man for this reason.. He has a role in his life, teaching the world on how to stick up of what's RIGHT!! Thanks Shmeuli for bringing this Q. to the table... So ppl could hear the right words from the person who changed a lot of this generations bitterness...
I loved it. Yes, I may be a little biased because I already love Rabbi Manis very much, but even when trying to be neutral, I still think it was an amazing podcast.
I agree and see my comment above. Most of his listeners are like this. The solution is simple, even if it involves more work by Shmueli: add subtitles if you have this desire for “wide reach”. Solved
Are we in 49 or 51 sharei טומאה? With all due respect to the Rabbi, but the צמח צדק זצ"ל writes that BEFORE matan Torah, we couldn't go deeper than -49 and survive. BUT with the Torah we are assured to come back even from -50! Furthermore, the אור החיים הק writes the before the גאולה, klal yisroel MUCHROCHIM LERED to -50! A good Shabbos! A pleasure as usual.
Great guest to bring, thank you! Just went there a bit off topic for way too long with Moshe and the hagaddah... I personally understand Yiddish, but I think it would be a really good idea to provide English subtitles, so then you still reach the Yiddish-speaking community, but anyone who only understands English but is interested in the interview can still understand what's being said.
That’s the real solution. I think most listeners wouldn’t watch this podcast if it were an English due to the amount of similar alternatives, the whole reason we watch it is because it’s in Yiddish (although we appreciate the great and deep content.) the only solution to get both of what you’re looking for of maintaining your audience yet allowing a possible wider spread is to add subtitles. It does add some work for smoothie or his team or maybe it will have to get him to get someone to be a transcriber and translator but that’s the way to do it.
Shmueli. Beautiful podcast. Just 1 comment the mic should be more down so the mouth should be more visible. Easier to listen to people with hearing issues. Thanks. In keep up your great work...
For your idea of viral spread just add subtitles! To your point of Yiddish or English, counterintuitively you will get much more listeners in Yiddish. The whole specialness and unique nature and reason to be for your podcast and someone to listen to you rather than a similar topic in English (yes you have wonderful deep content) is davka that it’s in Yiddish, to be honest if your podcast were in English, as much as I love the content, I would not listen to it, but rather to the other tens of thousands of options that already exist on similar things. It’s specifically in Yiddish that you can break forth in your special niche and no one else does it, that’s the whole koach The best example and mashal of this is Matisyahu, he was very famous and listened to specifically from the koach of his being frum and with chassidishe clothing. The minute he discarded that he got back to how he was before, with no one interested in his career, there are a hundreds of other “regular” reggae singers. (not meant as an impuning of his character at all, just observing professionally.) The solution is simple, even if it involves a bit more work on your side or hiring a translator/transcriber, is just include English subtitles, that can both preserve your unique and also get the wider exposure you mentioned. בשם ה תעשה ותצליח
Shmuley... depression is VERY REAL and the most debilitating thing. We are not talking about a sad mood here and there. Worst thing you can experience. Worse than physical illness. The fact that you asked if its real, is very surprising.
@@funnyall208 I guess ignorance is not always bliss. Hope you never experience it and have someone tell you that. With all due respect, you need to educate yourself. Why don't you ask someone with diabetes to " just snap out of it"?
Disappointed with some of the answers. They did not seem thoughtful. Especially when Shmueli asked about squaring the creation story with science. That’s a fair question. A lot of people think about it. There are approaches that square Torah with science. The Rabbi’s answer came off sounding a bit smug.
This is outdated, we’re an informal and close knit community and we can use DU as a closeness we’re all brothers without that in any way diminishing the honor and respect we are giving the other more elder party, we don’t need such official language not using IR is no way disrespect
Manis Friedman, It's not a Rabbi, can Look like one, dress like one. But really doesn't know anything about The Tora HakeDosha. In his book, he writes that Hashem needs us? It's not the other Way Around. Very Sorry For you Shmuel Ungar, I used to see your clips and hear your music, But you are Supporting "Santa Clauss", I can't any longer not Me or my Family and friends. Please come to your senses.

R' Manis is one of the wisest men out there. Bravo Shmuli, for going a bit out of the Satmar comfort zone and getting this Lubavitcher on your show.

Thanks so much for showing your love and appreciation!
It would be a HUGE mistake to make it in English. I listen ONLY because it's in Yiddish. Please never make that mistake.
I want to be able to understand it :(

I know it would be a lot of work, but maybe having English subtitles for someone like Rabbi Manis would help this get to a wider audience.

PLEASE address elders with" ir"
Yeah felt it as well, very not respectful
rabbi manis asked we should call him 'דו'
Thanks for the clarification.

@@---tx9xx well.. That's what you were obviously not taught. It's called RESPECT FOR ELDERS.
I’m disappointed. Whoever wants can hear rabbi mania Friedman all over UA-cam. Your show is usually light and easy. Not so intense.
Once in a while, listening to some deep divrei Torah is definitely good.
Can't wait for part 2.
This intensity is all the beauty!!
