I use to love doing this …..but on dirt bikes
From where you were looking back at Dropzilla the start was still above your head. This was definitely worthy of a video to itself
You have to see it in person to understand just how gnarly it is. Lance didn't mention the rock wall on the rh side as you ride into it, or the rock just left of the landing, ready to take out your pedal. This thing is ridiculous!
@@mikehickman7434 my camera footage just doesn't do it justice. It looks so much worse in person. I can't work out how to ride. Can't see tracks at top at all.
Awesome Lance. Had a really good day riding with. Next time we do Ultra Rosa, we will know what we are in for.
Great vid Lance. Looks like a riverhead grade 4. 🤣 🤣Definitely outside my pay grade, will keep to the road more travelled for the time being. Maybe after I’ll give it a go in my next lifetime. 😅
Was in Riverhead today. Had a great ride. Ultra Rosa is certainly a step up from Riverhead trails.
Awesome video Lance it definitely looks amazing trail but I think I will chicken out on that one. I think my skills might be a bit rusty for that one. But definitely look like you men had an awesome ride down it or you was glad you got down in one piece.
thanks bro
Very entertaining! Too easy for babies!
Great video. Reminds me of my Friday XC .trail. Not! 😂
Think I just saw a short video of Brook McDonald ripping this track. Looks like a green with him riding it!
He is doing a group ride in a few weeks in Rotorua. Would love to do that but am at a wedding.
@7:35 that corner is all blown to heck now on the oustide line. A tangle of dangling roots perfectly poised to catch a pedal. Made the mistake of trying to ride it straight after the rain yesterday...😢
I thought that looked nasty as, even on the go pro. Can't imagine how steep it really is.
It is not too bad. Has flat sections followed by short steep sections.
I did it early on before the drop of dropzilla was eroded badly - probably wouldnt ride it now as the LZ is pretty bombed out
Next time we’ll ride this top to bottom without stopping now we know what we’re in for. Could use it as a warm up before hitting Anxiety 🤨
I like that idea. Would have been great to have gone back up and done full run.
Great video Lance. Would you say that vertical drop is worse than the rock drop on riff raff?
@@bestdayevermtb2that’s nasty! Even worse than Cals Hill drop on new new floating bridge??
Surely the Boyz have a pump or co2?
Would have been nice, but no. The stupid thing is after this run we went back to the car and pumped it up. Later that day it suddenly let go again. I still did not have air. 🙄
Such a beautiful country. My mom is Australian so I have dual citizenship and an Australian passport. It’s my understanding that I can travel between Australia and New Zealand without a visa? I’m in the states. So I’m planning on heading that way for an extended stay. Hopefully meet a Māori woman and ride nonstop. The USA has turned to shit and I want out. Any pointers ? Will be moving to Rotorua.
My understanding is you can live in NZ indefinitely on an Aussie passport. NZ has also had its issues with increased crime and ram raids but overall is still a great place to live.
@@bestdayevermtb2 I just want to live in the country. Quiet. Maybe work @ a mtn as bike patrol/emt. As I am certified oec (outdoor emergency care) and emt (emergency medical tech) and work as bike patrol. Raise some chickens, work as little as possible (I’m 75%retired) and RIDE MY BIKE.

Who’s the best in dads army?
Best looking? Best jokes? Best cook? Best at trail side maintenance?
Better sort you out with a pump to go with your new bike aye 😂😂😂
I have lots of pumps and CO2 but was riding light. Apparently, everyone else was the same.
@bestdayevermtb2 hahahah one less camera and one more pump 🤣🤣 does the new bike come with conti tires?
At your age you should stop riding…
Because you’re making young adult like me feel bad about my level of riding. Not fair. Anyway keep up Lance, met you at woodhill, very cool guy!
The good news is skills come with time and practice. I didn't start riding until I was 35. 20 years later this is where I have got too. I often wonder if I had started as a kid what my skills might be like.😁
Every needs to remember the camera never shows the true steepness of the hills
