Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life -think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.

I heard (briefly) on the radio that the trend this past holiday season was to stay with family and not in a hotel. Bring lots of food and help out with chores and that will help family and save you $$. All the best to us all... ✨😊✨.

Husband and I went on our first no kids vacation in three years last weekend. $20 extra a night for a room with a kitchenette is cheaper than eating out three meals a day, and I meal prepped so we didn’t have to spend a bunch of time in the kitchen. It was such a nice weekend, and a little cheaper.

Every travel hockey tournament I bring cooked chicken and ground beef. We have tacos all weekend. I bring my small electric skillet. Cooked rice, meats, toppings, cheese. Snacks. Etc. We spend $0 on our tournament weekends on food. We eat what I already spent money on at home.

When the kids were younger, we always packed the first meal and snacks for the trip. We saved money on renting a condo or house instead of a hotel and could save money by grocery shopping. When we did eat out, it was a treat for them because we didn’t eat out at home very much.

Great ideas for travel with hungry boys. We are traveling this weekend for an anniversary party(2seniors) so we are staying in a hotel with a breakfast offering. I’ll bring some snack and goodies for the car, water bottles, etc to minimize expenses. You need to check out the video on making homemade instant oatmeal with fruit. No artificial ingredients and I use freeze dried strawberries and apples and dried blueberries. Less than half the cost of the packaged oatmeal.

Love it!! I do all of this. Non-money benefits: healthier than McD's, you don't have to stress about where to find food while on the go, you know your kids will like what you bring. I also road trip with a 2 gallon thermos that has an easy spigot for refilling water bottles. MUCH cheaper than bottled water. Also, we have have a well, so having the thermos means I don't have to listen to complaints about how bad bottled water or city water tastes.

Wow Christine, that metal Igloo cooler is older than you are! They made things better back then.
Last summer we took a budget vacation. I used frequent flyer miles on two of the four airfares, we found an AirBnB apartment, and I lucked into a free rental car. My wife made snacks and breakfast sandwiches for the plane (and the five hour car trip after we landed). We bought groceries in the local supermarket. We did have one dinner and one breakfast out, but we cooked everything else. We hiked, railbiked, and spelunked. The kids want to go back this year!

Making those road trip memories with your boys. . . PRICELESS! Driving vs flying 2000 miles, flying wins, if you are paying for lodging there and back. Also extra days off work. A days drive away and staying with family for the win! Go Mom! You're the BEST Christine. ❤ Thank you!

Love the Coleman cooler! My dad had one when I was young. We moved to AZ when I was 9 and every couple of years we went back to OK so in order for that to happen we had to pack food for the trip and the day before we left to come back to AZ my mom went grocery shopping for the ride home. I have carried that tradition on also and it saves us a ton of money. When we traveled with a 5th wheel it made it really easy to pack all our own food and stopping at the little rest areas without a bathroom wasn’t a problem at all.

I love to pack a cooler for every soccer game and 2 for every tournament. Someone is always hungry even if they just ate at home before we left. For the tournament, 1 for at the field and 1 larger in the car to restock the smaller one. Lots of Gatorade, water and electrolytes. Bagels and sandwiches, fruit, snacks, and maybe a treat or two. So much cheaper and healthier for all of us. Although, if my younger two can handle hanging with us all day, I have no problem grabbing them an ice cream from the snack stand at some point especially when it’s super hot. We always pack more than we need and have no problem sharing.

last year, i watched my cousin go from feeling completely stuck in life to absolutely thriving. they’d been talking about a book called Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane and how it wasn’t about “just think happy thoughts,” but more about getting real with yourself and your goals. at first, i didn’t pay much attention, but then they started landing dream opportunities, meeting new people, and just carrying themselves differently. it’s not some miracle story-they worked for it-but they said the book helped them focus in a way that made everything feel possible.

When we traveled to the Netherlands last year, the hotel we stayed in cost 17.75 Euros per person for breakfast. We went to the grocery store, bought Dutch bread cheeses and meats. Fruit, and we were set. I bought teabags, and used the brand new coffeemaker to boil water. Awesome. We used reusable water bottles. We bought lunch and dinner. With all the stands and grocery stores, buying lunch was easy. The only meals we ate out were dinners, and even that, we saw family who fed us too. 💕 Thanks for your tips today

When we go. If hotel - eat breakfast at hotel, take a couple extra pieces of fruit. Go to restarant for dinner. Go to the grocery store as soon as I get there for lunch. I get drinking water - peanut butter, chips, bread, and snacks. I use dinner as an experience. Go somewhere that is a "vacation dinner." Unique or high rating places to eat as part of my vacation.
When I went overseas for a few vacations. I always get things from the grocery store that doesn't need refrigeration. Some hotels don't have refrigetors in the rooms. They also have rooms that the electricity goes off when u leave the room.

It was like Mary Poppins mother in law style. Out came drinks, sandwiches, chips, fruit and even pie (she made the best). My husband and I laugh at that story all the time. She was an amazing woman. Point being making memories with family are the best memories to have.

Growing up we went camping a lot but couldn't leave until after my dad was home from work, so we would eat dinner in the car. Our favorites to keep us from eating out were pizza, pizza bread(pizza topings rolled into a french bread shape), or burritos. With burritos we would make a big bowl of filling (rice, meat, beans, peppers, onions). Put some filling in each shell a little cheese, sour cream, salsa, and lettuce and wrap in tin foil.
