We just returned from Alaska …. Went on Royal Princess out of Vancouver 5/28-6/4. Absolutely stunning life changing trip. Glacier Bay is BEYOND gorgeous and so serene and peaceful
You are right! Seeing your video of all the glaciers, is even better in person. We did get to see one calfing, saw Bear, and otters like you, but also got to see some whales! And i do remember how cold our day was there, we had snow! We , were there the end of August! And we kept running in , getting hot chocolate, and out ...taking some terrific photos! A day to Remember! Thanks for taking me with you, and getting to remember our day! Vickie from SE Pa
Glacier Bay is one of our favorite memories. We stayed on deck from dawn till we afternoon watching wildlife, glaciers, and all the scenic views. We saw whales, orcas, mountain goats, bears, otters, seals, and puffins. We also were lucky to see and hear a large calving of the ice and several smaller ones…so exciting. Our whole trip we saw whales daily…it was in September so maybe there was more activity. Hoping yo return someday. We went on Holland America. We would only go on cruises that gave you the full glacier bay experience. The onboard naturalists were amazing!
You have Done such a FANTASTIC Job at guiding us through Your Cruise!!!!! First of all I want to tell You I LOVE ALASKA! I live in Minnesota which is a Beautiful State! However it does Not hold a candle to Alaska! Thank You for Your videos!!!! I LOVED Them! 💕 Great Job!
Thanks for sharing so many great views of the glaciers. Even if it doesn’t fully translate to film, videos like this really help me be able to experience things I may not be able to visually IRL
Sooooo nice to finally watch a video done right. Loved the whole thing. You kept the camera on the subjects long enough for the viewer to enjoy. You didn't jerk around and flash frames for two seconds. Loved it and thank you for sharing.
As a resident of Michigan, I have great admiration for the glaciers that gave us these fabulous lakes we get to enjoy and brag on. Sad to see them disappearing. One of our coolest experiences was on an Amtrak train traveling from our middle coast to the west coast. Being a party of 3 we were joined by the one of the on board National Park representatives for lunch prior to their exiting the train. Memorable conversation.
I am really enjoying this series of blogs what an incredible cruise of Alaska it is also so nice to see Sherri in such a happy and healthy state 😊🌸 So much fun as well to see the two couples together having such a nice time
Finally get to say that we are going to Alaska next month! 42 days and counting! These VLOGs have been invaluable, can't believe that we will be experiencing the same sights albeit on the Majestic Princess. What a way to experience our first ever cruise going on a ship to Alaska! we feel so lucky! I am nervous about the sea sickness so seeing Sherri still be able to experience all the things despite sea sickness at the beginning gives me hope. Thank you so much for sharing! Hello from Melbourne, Australia!
@@shehzadalani5238 We went in August, Glacier NP was amazing. Once onboard we upgraded our inside room to a balcony room and I can't rate it enough! We got to see the glacier up close from the comfort of our room. One of the nights we even got to see the Aurora from the ship deck. It was our first cruise and can honestly say that I would probably do that one again.
Omg what a fabulous beautiful scenic sail, you are so blessed to live in such a beautiful state. It’s great to see you both having so much fun 👍🛳🛳🥂🎉🎉🥰💕
we are planning an Alaskan Cruise for May 2023. Your videos have confirmed that the Royal Princess is the one to pick. Thank you for sharing your experience.
I didn't realize that there was so much informative/ learning nature stuff with the rangers. How cool! 👍👍 That sushi looked especially delicious. 🍣🍣I love Sherri's mountain earrings, but you both cleaned up pretty good for fancy night. 😊
Great video. And you’re right, to see the glaciers in real are much more spectacular then on photos and film. We’ve done an Alaska cruise in May with the Disney Wonder. We got to Dawes Glacier. It was only one, but it was also breathtaking. And there were so many blue icebergs around the ship. And when I saw those deckchairs, with the blue pillows I immediately thought of deck 4 of the Wonder. We sat there a part of the glacier day. Looking forward to te rest of your cruise. Love to see an other cruiseline.
Greetings from NJ! Glad I came across your Glacier Bay "sea day" on the Royal Princess. It was great! What month were you sailing? The views and glaciers - were as you said - no words were necessary! We are looking at Alaska in mid-August 2023. Oh, BTW - did any pups come on board as I believe, the rangers do bring on some pups (sled dogs) for everyone's enjoyment - I believe 2023 on Princess will be offering the Discovery Princess. Hope to view more vlogs too on some of the ports your visited. Thanks again and stay healthy and safe. Kathleen/NJ
I've been watching your Alaska cruise series in preparation for a similar cruise (on Holland America) this coming July. The itinerary will be similar, so I really appreciate the amount of detail you've been showing for each day as it is helping me decide what to do both in port and on the days on the ship. Even though my balcony will be on the side, it looks like hanging out on my balcony will be a great option on the days when we're sailing through Glacier Bay and elsewhere and will give me the option to set my tripod up without interfering with the enjoyment of others. I can't wait for July to get here - this will be my first time in Alaska and my first time cruising.
Yes, it most certainly was a wonderful day! It felt full and relaxing at the same time. Any time you can have lobster, glaciers, a nap, and karaoke in the same day is OK with me! :)
Love this series so much! So beautiful & relaxing in themselves, & so informative as well! One day I’d love to go… Also, not surprised folks found your books, such good choices!
@@LeggLife I am really enjoying the Alaska vlogs. It is nice to get the point of view of someone that lives in Alaska. We can't wait for an Alaskan cruise. Just waiting for the kiddo to grow a couple of more years to really appreciate what she is experiencing.
Wow the views of the glaciers were fabulous. What wonderful and relaxing scenery. The steak 🥩 and lobster 🦞 looked delicious. Nice seeing what your day looked like. How do you like the book you are reading Sherri ? Karaoke looked like a blast. Cheers
I'm really eager for the video where you talk about whether or not you missed the Disney magic! It looks like a lot of fun, but I'd probably still miss Mickey's presence. I've seen Glacier Bay a couple times- did a Princess Cruise there back in '99 and then did one with Disney when I was pregnant with our 7 year old. I definitely want to go back!
OMG How can you go to take a nap or go off in the ship while still in Glacier National Park? The scenery is so stunning even after the ship heads south out of the park. Glacier National Park is the main event of an Alaskan cruise! And you had one of the best views from your balcony......although not quite as good as the lido deck above you lol
Thank you so much for all of your videos! We have been wanting to go to Alaska for many years! Our cruise was cancelled in 2020 and we just booked a 10 day cruise to Alana for July. We have watched your entire cruise and it has made us so excited! You mentioned your binoculars….would you recommend the ones you had?
Is the cruising industry the only ones to be able to go into Glacier Bay? I will say this would be the one great benefit of an Alaskan cruise vs other destination cruises.
Great question! So, it's not the only way to see and experience Glacier Bay, but it's certainly the most common way. I know that Glacier Bay Lodge offers boat tours into the park, and there may be other operations that do as well. However, it's not terribly easy to get to, so options are limited.
Love your channel! Watching this series led me to book this same ship in Alaska this summer! You both seem like the kindest people, May I ask when you went on this cruise?
Great question! One thing, we really appreciate it is that in glacier bay the captain turns the entire ship around to get a view of the glaciers. So, no matter what side of the ship you are on, you will get a view of the glaciers!

Yes, there are certain times of year when the wildlife are more active and present. I saw whales on the last day, but no other whales.
