After Red Table Talk I revisited this song and it makes so much sense now. He fell in love while my good sis Jada was just trying to get her groove back. He wanted to be more but she wasn’t going for it so he stepped away. They both tell the same story just from different perspectives. The fact it was hard for Jada to even call it a relationship shows how she really feels. It was an extramarital entanglement.
This concept was BRILLIANT that's why he is August Alsina on a whole different level of creativity, wisdom and spirituality to be so young. I think Jada is still in love with August.
