I'm from California, and I'm in Culiacan, Sinaloa visiting, staying at was my mother's property, and I recently hired a plumber over a leak under the sink, and he charged me just 100 pesos. Culiacan, however, is one of the most expensive cities in Mexico. As for the cheap price, the owner or worker of the hardware store across the street recommend him to me when I was here in 2022
However, I know that when he says " ahorita" it could mean hours later, or possibly the next day lol
When I first hired him he showed up 2 or 3 hours later with his dog carrying his supplies. Very humble person. Its It's all about relationships in Mexico, and being kind. The guy, while working, also tells me interesting or funny stories regarding his job. Also, he did comment last time that to some people who have financial issues he charges them less

@@hoppeanofasgard1365 Yep, when I first messaged him he said that not until the next day he could be available cause he was already booked. But after asking what was the issue about and learning it was nothing complicated, especially since he lives nearby, he said " I'll be there soon". So he changed his mind. He also, while on the middle of something, goes back home for something he forgets or needs, and he on previous jobs has taken his time, but it's cool with me. But there's always an uncertainty. Once I had a little urgent problem and happened to call late evening. On 2022. He said " ill be there soon". And in spite of my insistence that if he couldn't come, since it was late, it was cool with me, he insisted he could be there the by night time. And he didn't show up until the next day at afternoon lol. But it's just the culture. In the states it's more professional but you pay a lot.

The person needs to find out about Canadian laws. Does the pardon eliminate the conviction, the court case, and/or the arrest records. Are all records expunged (torn up) or are they simply sealed (kept from public view). The pardon may eliminate the effects of the conviction, but if the court and arrest records are still available, then what you answer will change.
Also read every question because it affects the answer. "Have you been (convicted), (charged), or (arrested)? The pardon may eliminate the yes to conviction but might still require a yes to arrest.

I would rather worry about having to walk to the store than worried about getting stopped by the police on my way to the store and end up getting shot over nothing and have it all blamed on me as is common in the US. Much safer out here in Mexico 😅 i'll keep on "struggling" in Mexico with a smile on my face over the alternative of living in "comfort" in the USA with the constant threat of death or violence constantly hovering over my head.

Mexico would be a cool place. I like the fact it's more of a free for all. Lots of freedom is great, but there needs to be manners and personal responsibility with it. The only way it work for me in Mexico isn't to be living in Neighborhood's or cities. Meaning I would have to live out in the country side with nobody living close to me. Because I cant stand noise makers or rude people who don't behave like real grownups with common sense. I like the country side with peace & quiet, No BS or drama around is what I like.

Not all expats are entitled/toxic. Immigrants in the U.S. who came from other countries are usually grateful and humble people (they are expats also). The toxic entitled ones are those coming from first world countries to live in under developed countries like Latin America and Asia. It's the culture of having a certain level of superiority complex. Not saying all, but most are.

Many come from their country of origin and just set up shop and keep living exactly as they did back in their home country. As a child of immigrants mostly living in Miami in a mostly immigrant city I can assure you Many immigrants refuse to assimilate to the US. It's not just an Expat thing. The main difference is culture and how Some Americans conduct themselves with a heightened sense of superiority no matter where on earth they land. Again we can continue talking about his exact topic for hours on end 😅 Thanks for sharing!

Not really, when you ask about pricing and exact quotes they have to stick by that. If they have to charge more, or purchase extra parts or equipment they will let you know. Rule of thumb in Mexico is that they have to respect the original quoted price, if they say it is more after its all said and done and you were not advised of the added cost Mexicans do not pay extra. The whole live and let live dynamic is interesting, I to have observed this from being in Mexico, and it's a real thing for sure, but different people have different interpretations on it. For example I know one guy that's all hell bent over protecting the envirmental and he says Mexico can't possibly be live and let live when so many people pollute the water, or people don't care to inspect their cars and get their catalytic converters replaced when to many toxins are coming out their tail pipes.
Of course I find that ridicules, because the alternative is to force everyone to do that at threat of losing their license which is clearly not live and let live, but different people think differently.
another example is how I agree letting your neighbors have loud parties at night without calling the cops is indeed live and let live, but others will say, the very act of them having those loud parties and keeping other neighbors awake is not live and let live because you're disturbing your neighbors.
I could say that Mexico has very respectful people that desire to have respect shown in return, and by all accounts I think this is true, but I've come across others that say Mexicans are not respectful because of the loud parties at night.
So it's just really hard to have a conversation with anyone about this stuff.

So, yea, I'd we are both in the right here with our depiction of this Jose, it's just some of these people are off their rocker when they say places can't be live and let live because of pollution, it's like, bruh, what? lol

Reminds me of my sister's home in California, who converted her garage to a room, and yep, she didn't get the permission from the city first. Nonetheless, she had the room for over 8 years until a neighbor called the city and reported my sister. And she had to hire men to tear everything down, not to mention the fines by the city.
It reminds me of an artist I meet yesterday here in culiacan, who made a drawing of an angel on a sidewalk, and was receiving donations..He said he moved from Sonora to Sinaloa, and at one point he only had 100 pesos left and spent it all on chalk, art supplies and started doing art that same day to survive, to be able to eat.
As an artist myself, I thought, in Los Angeles I'd probably have the cops come at me if I were to to do that. " land of the free"...

    • @hoppeanofasgard1365
      @hoppeanofasgard1365 6 місяців тому +3

@@sergiopacheco2939 Yea, the US definitely is not free at all. What I struggled with for a long time was so called "western" conceptions of freedom vs just what my eyes were seeing and my heart was feeling in Mexico.
Some people I'd have conversations about this with would try to convince me that freedom is not freedom with out responsibility, that you can't possibly have live and let live societies if they're dirty, crime ridden and noisy.
Today I simply don't listen to these people anymore.
freedom may not last without responsibility, I don't know, I suppose that's yet to be seen, but they're not one in the same.
Now as a declaimer I'm speaking in generalities and painting with a pretty wide brush, maybe some western nations are as free as Mexico,. I don't know, but I know the US isn't, I know for damn sure Australia isn't, I visited that hell hole years ago and the amount of regulation is absurd, and the same can be said for England.
Thanks for sharing your story about your sister, I'm sure the fines must have been crazy once they found out. Mean while in Mexico I bet you could probably rent out a place that's just as bare bones basic as it gets, simple roof over your head with no piping or electric in an area that's not even zoned for rentals, because in Mexico zoning is virtually non existent.

Anyway i love Mexico however i may eventually relocate to where there's hardly any gringos 😁

Jaja Very well said brother I totally agree with you. Every time I go out to the Pueblos i think to myself the same exact thing.... maybe i should just pack it up and move out there and open up a little store and call it a day. Live in the actual jungle with the other villagers and pretend the rest of the world doesn't even exist anymore. Live in peace in our own little bubble.... maybe one day.... Thanks for sharing!

Ya Im not a fan of the expat living in Mexico and making their own communities. You should go and try to mingle with the locals and do and learn the culture. I plan to move there soon. But I’m looking for a good place to do just that.

The chevron doesn't know that the mexicano threads are on the inside of the americano threaded bottle nozzle. Let me be the one to tell you that I would have been nice if they didn't walk up to me and instead of help me the start yelling "No mexicano only americano" " No mexicano only americano" when I am smart enough to know that the mexicano threads are on the inside of the americano nozzle. Something that everyone working at the chevron couldn't understand. They probably turn away business night after night based on the facts that they clearly don't know.

I love Mexican Coffee! Why is it so much better than American coffee, does anyone know? Isn't most American coffee from Colombia? so in effect by Mexican coffee being better, what we are actually saying is Mexican coffee is better than Colombian coffee?

    • @JoseArteagaTravels

Mexican Coffee comes from Mexico. Also the way they roast it is another major reason why the different taste. I think the reason you don't really see Mexican Coffee outside of Mexico is because it is much better quality and even more artisanal in some cases and most Americans want the most affordable option which tends to be Columbian. But I wouldn't quote me on that 😅

I've been going to Starbucks here in Mexico to use the wifi and their regular coffe, which I think it's called chiapas, just regular, not a latte, tastes much better than in California. I do observe, however, that the baristas really take their time making a drink. I admit that americanized as I've been I've thought they're slow, but it's better quality overall. In the states of course costumers would be getting really piseed over the waiting time. Seen it many times

@@JoseArteagaTravelsOh we have a few clownpats like you in SEA. Mostly Americans, and luckily they stick to the worst country in the region (the Philippines). Worried about some expats (who are very much the minority) when you certainly have locals where you are who can be "jerks", you know the type who decapitates people and skins people alive. That's the type of jerk I would be worried about if I was you. How much of your identity runs on you being a foreigner in another country? I bet if I go through your video history it's all issues pertaining to being a foreigner/expat. Lame if so. If it's not then apologies in advance.
