- Prime Minister Boris Johnson acted unlawfully when he suspended the United Kingdom's Parliament, the country's highest court has ruled.
The suspension was "unlawful, void and of no effect", the UK's Supreme Court concluded on Tuesday.
The prime minister, who suffered a series of defeats when he lost his parliamentary majority and ability to govern through the legislature, suspended Parliament just weeks before the crucial October 31 deadline for the UK to leave the European Union.

It isn't but she would have to face pitch forks if she used her powers against democracy.
On paper, the Queen's authority is invoked in such actions regarding the convening of parliament, but in practice she only really follows what the Prime Minister tells her to do as a matter of convention. She never made the decision herself and is otherwise expected to keep herself out of direct politics and governance.

The PM exercised his prerogative, MPs challenged this decisions because they believed it was unlawful.
Then the courts voided the decision when they declared it unlawful.

The Supreme Court ruling substantiates the following: 1. In IT jargon: "Garbage IN is garbage OUT." The British voters were misinformed, offered "pies in the sky" and lied to prior to the Brexit Referendum. Lack of information or an abundance of misinformation leads to BAD decision-making; 2. It is high time for the British people to draft and implement a Written Constitution; 3. An Independent Judiciary which rules without fear or favour is the keystone of a Living and Thriving Democracy! I rest my case.
It's nice that there's still some people around from 1688 to tell us about the old laws we might have forgotten about.

Well whether the Supreme Court likes it or not Boris j still was honest and showed the world the position of the English country and should be congratulated at showing up the debilitated Supreme Court and their enterage. The hearing I believe was just a hash up void of critical positions and points for the financial position of the English country and their defence and defence forces even if the defence was against the English countries old position it was indeed a critical step for Britain’s security which was omitted and ignored by the Supreme Court. Congratulations Boris j as at the very least you brought this to the attention of the entire world otherwise there is no way that the English country could nor would be able to move forward in its attempt to leave the security of the EU. And good. 😎

Well said Carol Woolley. Some of Judges looked like they where wheeled out from a retirement home. We had a democratic vote and its unlawful for other parties to place their own person ambitions and greed above the wishes of the majority. Boris is a giant compared to the opposition midgets.

In a civilized democracy there is a thing called "The rule of law".
The state has "Separation of powers : a legislature (that writes laws)
and executive (government that executes policy) and a judiciary."
This is an example of the judiciary stepping in to chastise the executive.
The legislature (Parliament) has now to be recalled, so it can hold the government to account.
It's called democracy : you should try it.
