It's sad to see our beloved brands destroyed by big companies that only care about profit, I'm not naive I know it's a business but I wish they demonstrate a little bit of respect for the brands they acquire, lame human beings... Thank God for the small brands and the creative people in the industry that carry the flag of originality and creativity. I don't think I'll try this one or that I'll buy another FM fragrance in the future. Thanks for the review Sebastian!!!
Tried it on and fell instantly in love. Smells clean, soapy and just fresh. Bought two bottles and been wearing it since last week. A compliment getter..
I'm reporting (just like you ask) that I bought Acne Studio almost immediately after the decadent (sample). Then I bought the rest in a bottle, and recently I bought a 100ml bottle. This is my signature fragrance for today. I have never smelt such a fragrance before. Yes, it's a powdery fragrance, but that soothing incense in the base and the peaches in the heart won me over. For me, this is the scent of a holiday by the sea in luxury hotel
I'm sorry to hear that he's leaving his own brand. If you read his statement, Frederic Malle states "I have decided to part ways with the company.." It's one thing to run your own brand and another to be in a huge corporation, where you are no longer in control.
I wonder if he’ll start another house under another name, like how Jo Malone created Jo Loves and Bobbi Brown created Jones Road after they were bought out. 🤔 (I can’t wait to hear what you think of the new Paula’s Ibiza “Cosmos!”)
I’m obsessed with Heaven Can Wait! Not a lot of projection, but I get exceptional longevity, and a sparkle between the dried fruit and spices. ACNE studios is a collective ( not a single point of view), so it makes sense that they would do a collaboration with people who know how to craft a fragrance.
This parfume reminds me of lipstick Rose by Malle . Only has fresher notes I. The beginning. The dry down is very similar to lipstick Rose by Fredric Malle . Vey sad he is stepping down. But he does not look like a guy that likes to be bossed around 😊. So it’s understandable
I loved this release! but also find it odd that Acne didn't collab with fellow Swedish house Byredo! Acne has rebranded the last several years into a luxury brand after being in the industry for so long it makes sense to collab with a French perfumery. I get more peach out of this than orange blossom, though.
I tried it literally yesterday... the opening was wonderful very crisp white t-shirt fresh out the shower on a warm spring day. But as it dried down, it just turned from fresh, clean, airy and uplifting to weighed down and perfumey (yes I know it is a perfume but u know what I mean)... I am disappointed coz I was enamored with the opening... shame.😢
huh, despite not expecting those notes from this perfume it does make sense for the house of Acne. Acne is known for relatively clean/simple items for casual wear, with avant garde details that lean on the playful side. so a soapy fragrance makes sense. clean cut yet playful. however, i wish they leaned into those 'devil in the details' approach with this scent
Exorbitant pricing seems to be the trend now, even for the indie and artisanal houses. The fragrances of Les Indemodables retail for €220 for 50ml, which works our to US$480 per 100ml, and that's before tax. So even more expensive than this
Sebastian yes there was one more collaboration that you missed. It was way back and with Barney’s COOP. That fragrance was by Sophia Grosjman and later became part of the brand as OUTRAGEOUS!
Acne Studios is a fashion brand from Sweden , it’s been in the UK for years . Quite expensive. So it’s a collaboration with Frederick Malle, not really the name of the perfume but the the name of the fashion brand. Not a great name I agree.
Hello! I bought a bottle when it launched. I like it when it is powdery but sometimes it leans too floral. I will give it some time! It is very sad that Malle is stepping down, for sure it won’t be the same. I also could not agree with you more, seems like he has already left… his touch is lacking in the last releases. My two all time favorites are Carnal Flower and Iris Poudre.
I always buy when traveling markup is ridiculous. If you increase the price of my perfume by $100 I’m talking to you, Serge Lutens. I just won’t buy it anymore. I won’t ever stop buying Music for a While. But if I can buy it for a lot less at Harrods, than I pay for it at Neiman Marcus? that’s what I’m gonna do.
I can only assume with Malle stepping away is most likely due to Lauder wanting to destroy the brand and he won’t be associated with the destruction of his legacy.
Mentioning Heaven Can Wait, I found a fragrance by La Nuit Nomade, by your recommendation, called Memory Motel, smell is even better and stronger than HCW yet price is muuuch better and the smell is very similar.
Hey Sebastian. I’m not sure where I stand after that announcement. The price is a bit steep to say the least. Are our beloved perfumers just throwing in the towel? It begs the question as to where fragrances are going.🤷🏽♀️
I feel like the idea behind it is a perfume based on household cleaning products, but done in a way they smell luxurious. It's very good, it smells a bit like visiting a gallery or museum. Longevity is disappointing. The price is ridiculous.
I wasn't happy to hear EL bought FM and now with him leaving it's even more bad news... wondering if I need to stock up on backups of my beloved Carnal Flower and finally get a bottle of POAL before EL completely destroys the brand a la Mugler and L'Oreal😔
it felt to me like they used "Iris Poudre" as a template for this scent, and it has some kind of fizziness that makes it interesting and light in the opening. having said that, its not my cup of tea. I am more of a "French lover" kinda guy
to be honest, i'm kinda sick of these trend among the big houses: all their new scents are heavy floral, aldehydic, massively fem leaning, citrusy, boring dissapointments... WE NEED SOME NEW BANGERS! (i'm looking at you Kilian, MFK, FM, LV, TF, etc)
I think hands get tied and creativity gets hobbled and you have to move on. EL cannibalizes a brand. The original inspiration was genius. Crediting the creators really began with Malle. Looking forward to ACNE creations and releases.
Frederic Malle, and Dries van Noten for that matter, are both in their 60s and both been super successful in their careers, maybe its ok to just retire 🤗
I think it’s worse for perfumes but in fashion has been very popular for more than a decade in the U.S. I guess they have to continue to appeal to that specific audience
Pardon my ignorance but I saw this on IG and I thought it was a joke. I guess that people that are in the know, will not find this fragrance name weird
Perhaps he was grew tired of all the hormone disruptors and toxic carcinogens being dumped into his namesake brand, causing customers all kinds of health related issues? Maybe he wanted to once again sleep soundly at night knowing he's not harming his customers?
I purchased this in London two weeks ago. It’s my first aldehydic fragrance and I’m not mad at it. It’s a bit light on the projection but refreshing nonetheless. 🧼🫧🫧🫧

Whatever Estee Lauder touches, it destroys it.
Loreal is much worse.
@@isobel64 you’re so right L’Oréal is so much worse 😢
Yep 😢

I can see some people really enjoying this one! :)
I purchased as well! Its unique and delicious!
100ml for $470 is ridiculous. Total rip-off.

I hate the price but god... I have looked for a fragrance that is EXACTLY this for the past 5 years. It is fabulous.
I'm sorry to hear that he's leaving his own brand. If you read his statement, Frederic Malle states "I have decided to part ways with the company.." It's one thing to run your own brand and another to be in a huge corporation, where you are no longer in control.
So happy to see aldehydes coming back, this one is too pricey for me but love blanche and chanel no 5.
Pass. I’m banking on the Dries van Noten Par Malle, being brought back. Rumors say July, under a new name
Biggest surprise for this release is how many people have never heard of acne studios.
yes and people (most probably those outside of Europe) making fun of the name. It’s a Swedish brand. ACNE is an acronym.
Yeah I mean Swedish or not it doesn’t translate very well to the American market 😂
I wonder if he’ll start another house under another name, like how Jo Malone created Jo Loves and Bobbi Brown created Jones Road after they were bought out. 🤔
(I can’t wait to hear what you think of the new Paula’s Ibiza “Cosmos!”)
Synthetic Jungle was the best release in recent years. Carnal Flower & POAL will always be my favourites.
I sprayed quite a lot of carnal flower, but now I am selling it. Got tired of it, POAL & Musc Ravageur, on the other side, never!!!
Musc Ravageur and French Lover were always my favs..

What a crazy price for Acne Studios.

Frederic Malle is a brand I don't typically look for, but it is easily accessible to me. So I may just give this one a try next time I'm at the mall.
It would be fun to see a ranked video of your favorite fragrance packages and boxes. Xerjoff probably has one of the best pachagings and presentations

Great video and I enjoyed it and I'm going to check out this brand and have a blessed day
Hi Sebastian can you please do a video on top Bodicea the Victorious fragrances please?
Interesting. Acne Studios is one of my favorite clothing brands!
Reminds me of a warmer brighter version of metallique by Tom ford
Yes - that caramel note ! I’ve got them both .
For me Acne Studios is not good enough to be the last perfume of the house under Frederic Malle.
It’s fun to see fragrance houses collab with fashion designers who are not into fragrances normally
waiting for my bottle to come in. I'm excited based on your description!
Seb sampled it that other day at the Frederic Malle boutique in LA. To me it kind of smells like Tom fords Metallique.

i will try it, but not going to buy. flower powdery doesn't sound exciting
I love parfum industry scuttlebut. Thanks for the juicy 411. Sad about M. Malle.

Yes it does have great longevity for sure!!
Hi Sebastian, you are mistaken: they brought Dans Mon Lit by Ropion in 2020.

Hi! Do you know if synthetic jungle and synthetic nature is the same sent or it has been reformulated? Many thanks!
Not uncommon, big company buys the brand, the original designer has to go and leave their name behind.
Estée Lauder bought jo Malone and bobbi brown also. Seems everything they touch gets tainted in one way or another🤨
Frederic Malle leaving his brand is a true loss for the community and is like a stab in the heart to perfume lovers. Thanks to Estee Lauder.
@8:26 ha! Man i missed these reviews
I'm gonna skip this, mostly because of the price tag, it is a lovely fragrance but too expensive.
I didn’t see this on the counters at Printemps or Le Bon Marche when I was in Paris last week. Odd!
It is on the EPFM counters at Printemps.
@@marieb.1147 it wasn't when I was there but I'm happy it is now! I've smelled it since and it's definitely not for me.

That's what Estee Lauder and L'Oréal do best, take control and "optimise" revenue and destroy the art.
I think hands get tied and creativity gets hobbled and you have to move on. EL cannibalizes a brand. The original inspiration was genius. Crediting the creators really began with Malle. Looking forward to ACNE creations and releases.
Sans Angel’s Share (to which I was pleasantly surprised by) I haven’t purchased from Estée Lauder in years.

I would never call Acne Studios a designer house. Those clothes were really ugly!
He might pull a Jo Loves situation like Jo Malone but he wont be able to use his name
Ooh yes!!
@ThePerfumeGuy have you been able to try the Jo Loves line. Id love for a video of the whole line if possible since you do go to the uk :)
Zara for Her for 25 times the price

Acne Studios. What a huge brand naming mistake if courting English-speaking markets. 🤦♀

This perfume is not worth it, overpriced, expensive and longevity is very bad. There are better option out there :(! So sorry! as much as I like it!
"Acne Studios" wth were they thinking when picking that name

This is a really bad name for a fragrance company acne come on now
