@@SonomaStrong I started this a few years ago with a box truck and a pick up but it was the worst so my thoughts was the same as your when I saw the guys at the dump with Pushbutton, dump trucks and trailers so I worked on getting these now iam ready to go to the next Level

I am so close I can taste it. I have the business setup, EIN, bank account, credit card reader, long bed truck with dump insert and logo is almost done. Then I have to get business cards, flyers, t-shirts, insurance, and the website is almost done! So close, so close!!

You're absolutely right about start with what you have. The ole toolbox fallacy. If you believe you need certain tools to do the job, you will never start. Hell, if you have a small car or SUV, start with that until you can upgrade to a pickup and/or trailer. The hustle is more important than the tools. Get it!

I just started my business got an EIN number, still need to make a bank account, get insurance etc. I wanted to start a power washing/junk removal/remodel business. Not sure what business license I need to get though? Would it be a contractors license? Thanks brother.

I started as Friendly budget removal. Then research more about businesses. Then when we went 100% legit. Change the name to Junk Zombies LLC. Because one thing i found out. Is its all about the name. Has to be easily rememberable. Plus its was 2020 and everything is share share share. Wanted business to be fun for ads and to play around with. Plus the best thing i found out is 10 name. Search what business your trying to do. Then ask someone to read the 10 names for you. Then when there done. Ask them what 3 name they remember right after. They will only pick out the names that stand out of the 10. The rest they wont remember 5 min later. So name has to be 1 of the top 3. Even today I look over my competition names. And i still cant remember most because there name was never catchy. Didn't want ( what was that business name on that truck ). They will just google trash removal and pick someone else to get there trash removed. Plus the name is a eye catcher when on the road. All people see first is Zombies within the first eye glance. People would never remember Friendly budget removal. They would always ask what was your business name again. But getting my debts card in and it has the word Zombies on it. Or filling out business info and putting Zombies on it. Priceless. Just hope it dont backfire when that guy at the IRS has to audit a business. What Zombies. That's the one im going to audit. 😂

Our junk yard open only from 8 to 12. Any ideas on what I could do to empty trailers. I could go to next town our just try to get jobs there but it’s 40 miles away

Thinking about doing this as another side hustle with my kids for this coming spring. I have always thought there could be a market for hauling away brush & tree trimmings in the springtime up here in Minnesota. I'd be curious to hear about your breakdown of jobs ... like how many are Brush, how many are moving couches, how many are junky yards/houses, etc.
Lots of calls for mattresses, couches, some calls for brush esp in the spring, lots of garage and storage units....lots of people moving out of the area and calling us to get rid of stuff.

You forgot Commercial Insurance which is easily 300 a month and if your in California you will also need a CA number if your truck or truck and trailer combined has a GVWR of 10,001 pounds or more.
We will cover that in the intermediate video. This video was for beginners, they usually start with a small pickup truck that does not need commercial insurance, etc... it’s best to start small like that without having those added expenses. That’s how we started. We will for sure be Covering that in the next video.

What commercial auto insurance do you use.. they quoted me 550….a month for a 2016 Isuzu npr dump.. and DOT insurance requirements is 750,000 bodily insurance.
We pay about 500 it’s not cheap

As a business owner myself. I partnered with a good buddy of mine.. the 1st yr was cool.. but after time things can get bumpy.
We all have our own work ethic and some better or worse than others.. so to keep it short. Realistically you can do it on your own. Ask yourself.. do I NEED a partner..

But your right gonna have to really think it through which is the best option cause those bumpy times can get rough but its all about being on the same page and not butt ego's too much peace and love thank for your input
