My aunt met Ted Bundy. She was at a small diner in Orem, Utah after a terrible break-up. She was there alone trying to pull herself together when this man walked in. He sat down and introduced himself with an alias, putting on the facade that he was trying to comfort her and make her feel better. He told her he was a psychiatrist and invited him to go with him to his office to spend the night with him so he could help her even more. She used a pay phone to ask my grandparents for permission to go, and they told her no because they didn't know him. My grandfather asked what he looked like, and when she described him, my grandfather told her no and told her to wait there so they could come pick her up and told her not to go anywhere with him. My grandfather immediately called the police and told them that Ted Bundy was at a local diner with his daughter. By the time my grandparents and the police got there, Bundy was long gone. And yes, this is a true story.

Matthew: "Do you still feel comfortable talking to strangers?" Me: "Excuse you. I'm very anti-social, so I've never been comfortable talking to strangers😒"
Anti-social means to go against societies norms such as killing or being hyper aggressive(see anti-social personality disorder to understand what I mean), the correct term is a-social meaning to highly dislike or intentionally avoid social situations or activities hate when edgy teens mix those up
@@morrisonpez6830 Sir anti-social means not being social or wanting the company of others. Anti-social personality disorder is also called sociopathy which is a lot different from being antisocial.
I know that Holmes keep firing and hiring people but it still shock's me. A man that had you build an section that has a chamber for human suffering, gas rooms, doors that lead to no where and other weird and creepy rooms. And they thought that was normal? I know workers only built a Part of a house and then was fired but I'm building a guy a gas room and I think that is normal? I am building a guy doors that lead to nowhere and I think that is normal? How did those people sit and say "Huh well the killer couldn't have been that guy with the gas room and other weird and unusual rooms and hallways."
First, this was the 1890s. A carpenter might not get the purpose of using a specific material for a wall, or understand the difference between water and gas pipes just at a glance. Second, there's legitimate reasons for any number of these things. An armored room adjoining the office? Sure, for storing money and sensitive paperwork. The scratch marks came later. Soundproofed rooms in a hotel? World's oldest profession has been known to generate noise, best not to ask. Gas can be used for heating and light, or in the kitchen. If you don't know where the kitchen is, putting a gas pipe in any given place, at that time in history, would not be suspicious. That's the fiendish cleverness of Holmes. Noone built enough strange things to register them as "off". I'll recommend Cayleigh Elise and Rob Dyke for Serial Killer stuff, as well as Pop Trigger's Murder with Friends. I can't seem to turn up a video on Holmes from any of these specifically, but there's chills to be had all the same.
mychemicalromance intherabbithole he never built enough things to consider being strange because of this he was able to avoid detection for a long time
The smartest serial killers of all time either wouldn't be serial killers, or if they were, you wouldn't know they were the smartest becuase they'd be such experts at covering their tracks so no one would know that they even were.
Ethan Cohen Kid, some of these guys did just that. The one thing they can't hide was the absense of the victims. There was no trace of that particular person (which is why serial killers like Jack the Ripper are still anonymous.) But really, it is in fact currently impossible to erase all traces of yourself. There are traces in such small things like the dust, the air you breathe, witnesses, etc... Although you can (theoretically) eradicate these things they were at one point there, and at that point there was a trace of you. That is still part of history and could (theoretically) be uncovered once more in ways we could not possibly imagine. In short, your expectations are way too high.
Really? Many psychos are considered smart since they learn to live with their 'weird' mind. They focus on everything and they sometimes even make themselves crazy.
Why would anyone assume serial killers have low intelligence? It takes skill to seek out victims, plan, and execute murders enough to do it more than once. The downfall for most of these killers is pride.
For Ted Bundy that was very true Given his intellect investigators used him in the hopes to find other serial killers. Eventually they had a good enough system were Ted was no longer needed and so he was fried
Bundy is last to be named because he’s the most popular on this list. We are all waiting for him to be named, so putting him last forces us to watch the entire video. Smart
who the hell thinks serial killers are stupid though ? i mean the whole point of a serial killer is that he/she has killed multiple people and will do it again . so in order for them to actually be a serial killer they'd have to escape the police atleast three times . the stupids get caught almost immedietly and theyre locked in jail
lain iwakura oh yeah it's awful. There's been quite a few that after they get caught police get their "manifestos" talking about how they are going to be bigger than bundy or Manson. There was a couple guys a few years back that video taped everything. They got caught of course, but it was quite disturbing listening to them talk after just killing someone. They were so happy about it. I mean the zodiac even had a copycat. People are weird :/
lain iwakura yeah I don't know where that came from serial killers have a wrap for being psychopaths though people might get that mixed up with being insane or delusional causing the idea that they are not smart but if people used a dictionary more I'm sure that mistake would not happen as often
It's not fan art.........its an official Police poster that was up around West Yorkshire in the 1980's trying to catch The Yorkshire Ripper (Peter Sutcliffe) - The maker of this video obviously made a mistake and used it as shares the Ripper name........... :) I remember seeing them as a child, Check out Peter Sutcliffe - he was a real nasty killer, mutilated women. A lot more than has ever officially been linked to him.
Really? Didn't know that, it's definitely got some affiliation to the game cause I remember seeing it (I'm a massive AC fan). But yeah I know of Peter Sutcliffe, I'm really interested in criminal psychology so yeah
The picture of the woman with her back to the viewer, who is standing in front of the ripper is concept art for the assassin's creed dlc. The woman is Evie Frye, you can tell by the robes she is wearing.
I don’t really care all that much for serial killers or villains in particular it doesn’t interest me that much but Ted bundy’s story caught my eye and I started reading about him looking everything up watched the shows on Netflix and stuff I do Believe he was smart but he didn’t make smart decisions at times caused by the psychiatric conditions he had and his arrogance that he had
Vaddix 99 Except Zodiac would win as he usually used a gun and the Ripper used sedatives and scalples...unless *plot twist* Zodiac was a prostitute..then the Ripper would win
Ashu Park I never said anything to imply that he would still be a killer, in fact, no one did. I only said that he could be alive. And you didn't really need to give me the "he would still be very old" comment. It's a no-brainer really and that comment does come off as you're telling me that I wouldn't already know this.
Is it just me or is a lot of smart serial killers from California or at least near there? I live in california so you know that's always a comforting thought
TL;DR : What you see as weird, some people see as normal. Depending on where you live, acceptance of the bizzare can be necessary, and if it's necessary it becomes normal. BTW, there are pervs everywhere. Everywhere. California is one of the major gateways in the US where opinions and ideas from around the globe collect and cohabitate. It only stands to reason that the number of "weirdos" is larger when compared to most other states. Think about where the majority of people enter the US (not including land borders). Texas (mainly around Austin), California, Florida, New York etc. basically all major hubs of transport and import. When compared to the majority of the US, the few states I listed tend to go against the grain in terms of what passes as "normal". I'd guess that your perceived abundance of "weirdos" in California is a result of the much wider variety of "weird" available. There's also the fact that the "weird" is more likely to be noticed by people who aren't from California. People from places like Los Angeles or Sacramento or San Francisco etc. (because let's be honest, when people think of California I doubt they're imagining any of the small farming towns) are introduced almost daily to ideas that conflict with their own or seem alien to them just by walking down the street. Eventually people realize that the best way to live in relative peace and still have time to get things done amidst the craziness is to be more open and accepting of things that may seem strange. Thoughts gradually change from something along the lines of "wtf, why is that perfectly sane guy smashing raw eggs on his testicles for fertility while also trying to eat grass with a spatula!? Wait.. is he wearing a burger king crown?" to "Oh hey look, it's the guy I've decided to name Frank. Hi Frank." Outside of states like California people can go for a good while without ever having to shift their perspective or consider things that are new to them. I'm not saying that's a bad thing in any way, it's just that the bar for what qualifies as weird is likely much higher in places like California while the bar for "normal" is much lower. Let's assume for a second that in every state 1% of the population meets the local standard of "weird". In a sparsely populated state like Wyoming for example, that would make roughly 6,000 "weirdos" with around 595,000 "normal" people scattered around the state left to notice the "weird". Still assuming that only 1% of each state is "weird", that means California would have roughly 450,000 "weirdos" with around 44,000,000 "normal" people left to notice. California is about twice as large as Wyoming in terms of land yet California has around 75x more "weirdos" with around 75x more "normal" people to notice the "weird". Of course the "weirdos" would stand out if you look at it that way. I don't get what you mean about pervs though. Sure California produces a ton of porn but that hardly makes them exceptional pervs.
Krickett I'd like to agree with you, but sadly whatever the majority believes is the norm. Still won't stop me from contradicting myself >~> you're right, there is no normal, we're all twisted in our own way
So this is about 2 smart serial killers as the rest were caught and therefore not smart. One day it would be good to see a list that isn't heavily American. You could think of it as a challenge.
gameroach81 That's like saying someone is dumb for failing one test but passed 50 other tests. You are bound to slip up eventually. Especially now with all the forensic equipment these days
Well there is a lot of serial killers from the U.S. I heard of a few others one is considered the most dangerous. He is from Colombia in South America. He killed over 300+ people... His name is Luis Garavito. This I will say sucks Colombia only holds criminals even the worst for about 22 years... According to what I read he was taken by police in April 22, 1999. So he is going to be released in 4 years...
+Ninja Weretiger He's only been confirmed to have killed 138 people. The 300+ is just how many victims he's possibly killed, but no one knows for sure. Pedro Lopez has possibly claimed 300+ victims too, but has only been confirmed of 110. He might even pass up Garavito since he's free right now.
It is scary to think that the actual smartest serial killers of all time will never be recognized /"acknowledged" because they were smart enough NOT to get caught...
Actually it´s not necessarily easier to catch a low IQ serial killer, as they are less likely to develop a specific modus operandi which would tell a lot about their personalities to profilers.
Nope, actually I am more into reading books by investigators, forensic psychiatrists, forensic pathologists, etc. I´ve been into reading such stuff for about 20 years now, so I guess I know something about that. ^^
1. Drink alot of water 2. Eat healthy food 3. Sleep atleast 7 hours per day 4. Keep your sleep pattern steady 4. Exercise your body 5. Expose thyself to sunlight 6. Explore your interests 7. Spend time with friends and relatives 8. Dont do drugs 9. Fuck 10. Conquer
zaid mahammed No theres a difference between sleeping between 23:00 - 06:00 every day, than sleeping lets say 03:00 - 10:00 one day and 21:00 - 04:00 the day after etc. Jetlag ukno
Mr. Waffles yes because even if they only kill 3, that’s still three murders that they managed to get away with for a long while without being caught by police. Ted Bundy killed people in over a decade before being arrested, and even then, people doubted that someone as helpful and kind as him would be capable of such brutality in his kills. Same goes for John Wayne Gacy, Jeffrey Dahmer, H.H. Holmes, and many more.
Not necessarily. For example, the killer happen to target people that people won’t care much about or whose disappearance won’t even be reported such as homeless people or prostitute.
Damn Matthew why you gotta be in a dark room and act like you scaring me, you such a big meanie badly guy who scare little children to their bedroom and hide under their bed

I love how matts in the background of these serial killers just chilling lol
Matthew: "Do you still feel comfortable talking to strangers?"
Me: "Excuse you. I'm very anti-social, so I've never been comfortable talking to strangers😒"
Me and you
Anti-social means to go against societies norms such as killing or being hyper aggressive(see anti-social personality disorder to understand what I mean), the correct term is a-social meaning to highly dislike or intentionally avoid social situations or activities hate when edgy teens mix those up
@@morrisonpez6830 Sir anti-social means not being social or wanting the company of others.
Anti-social personality disorder is also called sociopathy which is a lot different from being antisocial.
jack the ripper was active from 1888 to 1881? 🤔
Teccy y'know.its obvious that back then time travel existed. And even had windows 0.5
I heard that too. I was thinking to myself, "what's this guy talking about? 1888 to 1881? Did he flunk his math classes or something?"
He said "between" not from.
He meant 1891 and the killings in 1892 aren't for sure. Only the "canonical 5" are confirmed Ripper kills, which took place in 1888
Black Shinobi actually between late august and early november 1888
I know that Holmes keep firing and hiring people but it still shock's me. A man that had you build an section that has a chamber for human suffering, gas rooms, doors that lead to no where and other weird and creepy rooms. And they thought that was normal? I know workers only built a Part of a house and then was fired but I'm building a guy a gas room and I think that is normal? I am building a guy doors that lead to nowhere and I think that is normal? How did those people sit and say "Huh well the killer couldn't have been that guy with the gas room and other weird and unusual rooms and hallways."
mychemicalromance intherabbithole ikr that but always confuses me.
at the time serial killers weren't even thought about. they just most likely thought he was a weird and odd guy.
Actually most of the killing modifications were added by him after
First, this was the 1890s.
I can't seem to turn up a video on Holmes from any of these specifically, but there's chills to be had all the same.
mychemicalromance intherabbithole he never built enough things to consider being strange because of this he was able to avoid detection for a long time
Matt: your next door neighbor might not be who you think they are.
Me: FLANDERS
We always knew with his overly optimistic attitude, he must have some secrets. Like being the Zodiac perhaps.
he was a devil in one episode...
Why is some Steve jobs looking dude on the thumbnail?
steve the ripper
Lmfaooo just noticed that its so out of place haha.
Jeffrey Dahmer?
Pai Mei I was thinking the same this
I believe that's H. H. Holmes.
you have a nice shaped head
And you have a nice chin. ;)
Okay Jeffery don't get any ideas....
Yes he's cute huh?
I was kinda staring the whole video
Egg
The smartest serial killers of all time either wouldn't be serial killers, or if they were, you wouldn't know they were the smartest becuase they'd be such experts at covering their tracks so no one would know that they even were.
Ethan Cohen wats the point of being the best if u dont get any credit for wat u did
Ethan Cohen and its impossible to completely fov3r ur tracks so no one knows u were there
Ethan Cohen
Kid, some of these guys did just that.
*cough* you mean like Jack the Ripper who is on this very list?
Its smartest people *who were serial killers* Not just smartest people
Are we seriously not talking about how Matt seems to want to tell us something with that thumbnail?? 😂🤔👀
I seriously thought nobody was going to notice that...
@ren bao The host of this channel.
Why do they all have badass names?
Caleb Davis i dunno maybe it's the name of there knife if something.
Leeboy morgan hello "dunno". So the name of where the knife is at might be where they get THEIR names from?
Spell correctly, and learn grammar!
Caleb Davis so there victims get scared
Before they find the killer the police need a name so they give them one

Spree killers are not serial killers. There is an established difference.
Rob Kirby what it is? genuinely curious
Claire They have an MO. They kill in a certain way, or kill certain people.
Also, I think Ted Kaczynski should be classified as an eco-terrorist, not a serial killer
@@hubabaloop Serial killers have a cooling-off period. Spree killers do not.
It's actually rather surprising how smart most serial killers and psychopaths are.
Really? Many psychos are considered smart since they learn to live with their 'weird' mind. They focus on everything and they sometimes even make themselves crazy.
Felicity Most actually have a lower than average IQ so only some.
Felicity yeah but being smart and having wisdom are to diffrent things. serial killers come in all diffrent shapes and sizes
There is always something about Ted Bundy that really sets him different from the rest
Rajarshi Roy word
mofo looked like that pornstar James Deen..... maybe he was reincarnated and grow up to live his dreams without murdering any women
Asmah Noordin james deen raped a bunch of women so it wouldn't be a great second chance
He looks like Bob Saget...
Rajarshi Roy yeah i know right...like he literally even looks evil !
Why would anyone assume serial killers have low intelligence? It takes skill to seek out victims, plan, and execute murders enough to do it more than once. The downfall for most of these killers is pride.
Rome Alexander and bravado
Why goverment keep them alive after all they’ve done?
“Ohh, dont kill them, maybe we can use them” 👀
For Ted Bundy that was very true
Given his intellect investigators used him in the hopes to find other serial killers. Eventually they had a good enough system were Ted was no longer needed and so he was fried
Yes. Even Sociopath
@@luisf2793 same for Edmund Kemper
@@luisf2793 well, they used ted bundy to help them catch the green river killer.
Where's the good ol Bay Harbor Butcher?

LNSD spexii Dexter!
And also the ice truck killer...!
I can't believe a tv show can make you like a fictional serial killer :/
I knew it, Bundy would be the last to be named on this list.
What about Dahmer?
Bundy is last to be named because he’s the most popular on this list. We are all waiting for him to be named, so putting him last forces us to watch the entire video. Smart
Bundy was Evil Af .... look at his eyes
Rajim Wakefield honestly. I’ve heard some of the most CHILLING ted bundy stories of people escaping or avoiding him.
who the hell thinks serial killers are stupid though ? i mean the whole point of a serial killer is that he/she has killed multiple people and will do it again . so in order for them to actually be a serial killer they'd have to escape the police atleast three times . the stupids get caught almost immedietly and theyre locked in jail
Indeed, most wannabees think they're smart, but they leave behind a lot of hints without them knowing.
Aaricia // zeepaarden Serial killers have "Wannabees"? What the hell?
lain iwakura oh yeah it's awful. People are weird :/
lain iwakura yeah I don't know where that came from serial killers have a wrap for being psychopaths though people might get that mixed up with being insane or delusional causing the idea that they are not smart but if people used a dictionary more I'm sure that mistake would not happen as often
crazy Chicken1 Yeah they do.
,,Do u still feel comfortable talking to strangers?" 😆
The first Jack the Ripper picture was totally AC Syndicate fanart. Any other fans notice it? 😂
1-800- Agust-D 😂😂I realized now
Actually pretty sure it is official concept art.
It's not fan art.........its an official Police poster that was up around West Yorkshire in the 1980's trying to catch The Yorkshire Ripper (Peter Sutcliffe) - The maker of this video obviously made a mistake and used it as shares the Ripper name........... :)
I remember seeing them as a child, Check out Peter Sutcliffe - he was a real nasty killer, mutilated women.
I think you made a mistake, 1888-1881??
1888-1881=7 😏
Bianca Figovc 1888-1881 would be -7
Oh well now that I know context what he said still makes sense, since it was a timeframe. I just assumed it was an age. Whoopsies.

I watched the Ted Bundy documentary on Netflix and the second way he escape was crazy
Is it just me or did Matthew blend into the thumbnail?
Nabil Rashid HE IS A SERIAL KILLER AND THAT WAS HIS HINT
I thought the guy to the right in the thumbnail was Steve Jobs 😂

Imagine Jack The Ripper versus the Zodiac Killer?
Vaddix 99 epic battles of history!
Vaddix 99 Except Zodiac would win as he usually used a gun and the Ripper used sedatives and scalples...unless
*plot twist*
Zodiac was a prostitute..then the Ripper would win
Krickett Someone write a fanfic where Zodiac is a proso
TheMaskCollector hahaha I would definitely read that!
That will be really cool to see, and Jack would win the fight against the Zodiac Killer.
The scariest shit ever is that the zodiac killer could actually still be alive.😱
Panda 420 no way
Ashu Prak No, there is a possibility that he may still be alive. Unlikely, but still possible.
Natasha Davies he would still be very old and defiently not still a killer.
he would have died of old age
Ashu Park I never said anything to imply that he would still be a killer, in fact, no one did. I only said that he could be alive. And you didn't really need to give me the "he would still be very old" comment. It's a no-brainer really and that comment does come off as you're telling me that I wouldn't already know this.
My friend's uncle was Jeffrey Dahmer's youngest victim

very sorry to hear that
RIPE 😢
Woah there buddy
What's with the smile?
Is it just me or is a lot of smart serial killers from California or at least near there?
I live in california so you know that's always a comforting thought
Evelynne Moua There's such a huge amount of deranged criminals that come out of California you're bound to have some smart ones! lol
I was about to say the same thing...
Hi Frank."
Outside of states like California people can go for a good while without ever having to shift their perspective or consider things that are new to them.
There's no such thing as normal
Krickett I'd like to agree with you, but sadly whatever the majority believes is the norm.
Still won't stop me from contradicting myself >~> you're right, there is no normal, we're all twisted in our own way
So this is about 2 smart serial killers as the rest were caught and therefore not smart.
One day it would be good to see a list that isn't heavily American. You could think of it as a challenge.
gameroach81 That's like saying someone is dumb for failing one test but passed 50 other tests. You are bound to slip up eventually. Especially now with all the forensic equipment these days
gameroach81 and I have an odd feeling that your iq is quite low after a statement like that.
I thought the guy in the far right in the thumbnail was Steve jobs for a second
Xyz Misc me too!
Jack the Ripper was so terrifying they put him on “Assassins creed” never forget!
Where's Dexter Morgan?
Why wasn't I on this list- I mean... cool video... I said nothing...
TheEnderMiner 2 ummm DON'T GO TO IRELAND
TheEnderMiner 2 you killed all Steve's... oh my god
TheEnderMiner 2 huh?
TheEnderMiner 2 Lmao
you said jack the ripper killed people between 1888 and 1881, did you mean 1881-1888?
Chris Pike no 1888-1881 Jack The Ripper Time Traveled To The past every year
The order doesn't make it any different XD it's still between the same years :P
Jack only murdered woman in 1888
1888 -1891
It is scary to think that the actual smartest serial killers of all time will never be recognized /"acknowledged" because they were smart enough NOT to get caught...
Actually it´s not necessarily easier to catch a low IQ serial killer, as they are less likely to develop a specific modus operandi which would tell a lot about their personalities to profilers.
NKA23 , you've been watching criminal minds, haven't you .
Nope, actually I am more into reading books by investigators, forensic psychiatrists, forensic pathologists, etc. I´ve been into reading such stuff for about 20 years now, so I guess I know something about that. ^^
True. Henry Lee Lucas managed to stay under the radar for forever, just by crossing state lines.

who thinks serial killers are dumb you have to be pretty smart to elude cops well enough to become a serial killer
@The Amazing Gible you mean green river killer?
There’s actually quite a few killers with very low iq
Not necessarily. For example, the killer happen to target people that people won’t care much about or whose disappearance won’t even be reported such as homeless people or prostitute.
