I think it is safe to say every time dwarfs talk about the stone it is reference to the Titan. So child of stone child of the Titan. Also dwarfs believe their spirit returns to the stone so a Titan is a collection of all the dwarf spirits. I think the reason the dwarf spirits stay in the stone and don't move to the fade is because of an original group of good spirits (forgotten ones) that guides their people. The dwarfs are connected to these spirits they revered these spirit that is why they developed a connection. In trespasser the heart of the Titan in the mural is elven symbol for spirit so mythal destroyed original spirit and the rest of dwarf spirits return to the fade. Also when myrhal killed the Titan she received knowledge of how they share knowledge from their dead spirits (dwarf say ancestor guide me). So she used this knowledge to create the well of sorrows that holds the knowledge of all the dead high priests. I think this is backed up by the similarities between valta after connection to Titan and Inquisitor after drinking from Well trying to make sense of voices they hear guiding them. Sorry this post ended up longer than I Intended.
I see the dwarves as part of the titan. The houses inside the titan seen in descent seem to show that the dwarves serve to maintain the titan and the titan served as their home at one time and were tied together through lyrium. Apparently if you weren't pure enough you were cast out, like the casteless of the present dwarf society. Valta was apparently able to be purified. This explains dwarf obsession with bloodlines. Awakening a titan to help defeat Solas or the old gods he seems to want to unleash could play a big role in the next installment. It would be cool if your character were a dwarf then the titans were the main way to win the game, just as if your character is a Qunari finding out about the connection between Qunari and dragons could also be a way to win. The way to win would depend on the character's race.
There is also when you meet Flemeth/Mythal she says...as long as the music plays we dance! And also the epilogue in Trespasser if you killed Léliana in DAO and at the end of inquisition didn't become Divine,it says that she left a cryptic message saying"the song sang thought into being".......from what i can understand there is more between Titans,Lyrium,Blight, and mix together....Red lyrium!!!
If lyrium is both the blood of titans and a bridge between the fade and thedas, maybe it's the result of how the elvhen slew the titans. They didn't kill them so much as locked them away in a mostly eternal slumber. They dream forever because their very blood is in the fade, part of it even. Maybe I'm just high af tho 😂😂🤔
If you want to get technical, dwarves do have a connection to the Fade. Elven records state that first contact with the dwarves was in -4600 Ancient, some 1500 years before humans first arrived in Thedas and well before the creation of the Veil
I think the dwarves still has some connection to the Fade. Just like the templars they block magic and the Fade unintentionally. Then the Titans could be cutting Valta's connection to it completely, there by making it so that she can cast natural magic drawn from "pure" blood, just like the dragons of old, that existed before the Fade, that could be the reason blood magic makes it harder to connect to the Fade. We know that the dwarves were around during the height of the elvhen empire, who's to say that they weren't around when the dragons ruled the land?
First of all, I really appreciate your fan theory videos. I hope you continue to make them. Now I'm gonna try to test some of the things you said, agree to some and try to expand on others. At 1:45 you said that "We know it (lyrium) is the primary source of magic". I would argue that that is false. The Fade is the primary SOURCE of magic, and lyrium amplifies magic. (Source: Codex Entry: Mana and the Use of Magic. World of Thedas vol 1. page 92) How this could change your theories on Titans, I do not know. At 8:00 you mentioned the Titan hive mind. I am myself a believer of the theory that the Titans did exert influence over the dwarves, until they were struck down. I also find it interesting that the darkspawn seem to operate under a hive mind under the power of the blight (or archdemon or corrypheus). Add to that the elven murals of "zombie like elves" that we see in DAI and the collective thinking of the Qunari. This theme of "enslavement" or "lack of free will" is something that Solas seem to protest at every opportunity. Could this have been the motive for striking down the "pillars of the earth" and "make the earth blossom again"? At 9:10 you give the opinion that the Titans are asleep, and that the recent breaching of the veil awoke a Titan. I also share the opinion that the Titans are asleep, not "dead". In this case, I wanted to point at the fact that a Titan seemingly awoke in -1170 ancient, which interestingly is exactly 1000 years before the death of Andraste. It is said that the rhythm "bled dispair" when it awoke then. Lastly, I want to point at the Avvar beliefs and the fact that "Korth the Mountain Father" is depicted as a humanoid shape lifting a mountain. Anyways, great video and I hope you can reply!
mudbacon I really appreciate your comment!! There's so much more I want to talk about, and comments like these really push me to keep going :) I wanted to mention Korth, specifically, but I decided not to because I didn't have enough info yet, and I didn't want to throw it in without much explanation. Between the Avvar, Chasind, and the original Alamarri, they might deserve a video of their own.
Very cool! I must say that your theory on 'Fate of Elvhenan' really got my noggin' churning. Have been knee deep in the lore the past week myself, trying to find some answers. Let the videos keep coming, as previously said they are appreciated!
I think it would be closer to the Titan being Tranquil because it has being cut off from the fade when Solas placed the veil there. And the small breach the Veil caused him to regain its conscious a little and that caused him to panic, so he caused earthquakes desperately looking for someone who could "calm" it.. I mean dialogues even say such a thing I belief.. The Titan tried to reach out to anyone capable of hearing him and Valta seemed to be the only one or one of the few that actually did hear him.
h my god. What if Golems are simply mini-Titans? By that I mean, the Titans came first but Golems are simply an attempt at recreating what once was. Whereas the Golems are living stone imbued by the soul of a single dwarf, Titans might have been MASSIVE living stone constructs with thousands of souls within them, all interfacing and thinking in unison.
Great video, thank you! Every time that I've looked into the Titans lately, I have drawn some similarities with the Darkspawn, and the Old Gods. Like how the music in the Lyrium seems to have a song very similar to the Calling. The whole hive mind deal once you've linked up with said creature of power is also too convenient for my taste. Also, the Dwarves insist that the Darkspawn came from the Deep Roads first, not from the skies, and the Old Gods are buried far below the Deep Roads as well, just like the Titans.
I didn't get the impression that Titans drew life from lyrium. Rather, that they create it. (Since it exists on both sides of the Veil, maybe that's one of the ways magic gets drawn through to the waking world.) The heart, though it turned out to be a guardian, seemed indicative of this, as do lyrium veins (both in mining and anatomy). Red lyrium is corrupt, so I'm thinking it's analogous to an infection - which is what the Blight seems to be. Hmm... maybe that's where the idea of blood magic comes from? The lyrium vein/Titan circulatory parallel, that is. It does seem that the Veil may have cut the dwarves off from dreams and magic. Perhaps the memories in Kal-Sharok are more honest and complete.
TourAbsurd My idea for Red Lyrium is similar. According to the draconologist, dragons are resistant to the Blight because they create cists around the infected area to slow it's spread. What if the Titans do something similar on a large scale?
What would that look like, then? Is there something you're thinking of that resembles a large scale red lyrium cyst? It seemed to me that they were particularly vulnerable to it, what with it spreading so quickly across Thedas. I wonder if it's more like gangrene, in that their circulation (of magic from the Fade) has been restricted. Maybe removing the Veil will both cure the Titans and bring back the hive mind, dreams, and magic for dwarves. I'm just digging into your videos, so I apologise if you've already addressed some of this. I do wonder why Solas thinks the world is going to burn if he removes the Veil. Couldn't he just take it out in parts, here and there, and let the levels of magic equalise?
TourAbsurd (About Solas) Not sure it works like that, but maybe. That would be a much more sensible solution, but it would probably lead to another war with all of Thedas against him. As for the cists, I was imagining something like the primeval thaig, but the way you described it with the Veil preventing circulation is very interesting!
I completely agreed that - just as we create blood, and can bleed out around us - Titans create lyrium. The red lyrium plague is basically septecemia. And moving just as fast.
Lyrium and the titans reminds me strongly of FF7. Lyrium is like mako, the essence of life and memories of those who died. Living somehow makes more and dying returns it to the planet, allowing it to thrive with the life and death of those living upon it. Titans and dwarves basically work like that but on a smaller scale rather than the entire world and everything on it. Mako poisoning even does similar things to lyrium poisoning.
I've always thought that the Fade was the source of magic. Lyrium "...bridges the gap between the dreamer's world and the waking world..." I suppose it's a matter of perspective. If you fish, is your fishing line the source of fish or the body of water from which they come?
So, the Titans sing through the stone but are asleep. The Old Dragon Gods were imprisoned underground and are awakened by Darkspawn that follow their corrupted song. Drifters hear the song and use it to follow Lyrium veins. Spirits hear the song but it sounds familiar, but they haven't heard it before. Could Solas's creation of the veil have separated half of the Titans, one group in the fade and the other left behind? Could the breach have allowed the Titan to hear the calling (very specific word) of those other Titans trapped in the fade?
jaspr1999 That's definitely possible. But my own theory is that Titans/The Stone/Dwarves are the embodiment of the physical world. The Fade is described as "the sky", which dwarves have ancient laws against seeing. But again, that's just my theory. Yours is equally as likely, I think. Thank you for your comment! :)
Thank you. I wonder what the Titan's and Dwarves world was like before the creation of the veil. I do like you theory, it gave me a very different point of view and much food for thought.
Let's say lyrium is the literal blood of the Titans. Am I the only one who sees no difference in using lyrium instead of blood of other beings? Wouldn't that make all usage of lyrium some form of blood magic?
Lee Only that Valta said the Stone must have existed first. Other than that, not really. But the way the Titans are connected to lyrium, they seem similar to the golems and harvesters, which were also given life from lyrium.
I was re-watching this the other day and I got to thinking about the Tranquil and their (lack of) connection to the Fade and Lyrium. And if you've read Asunder, there is a wealth of information there on the Rite of Tranquility and the events that lead to the Mage/Templar war. Will you be making a video on Tranquility some time? I think there is a lot to explore there.
Sarah Marie James You (and anyone else reading this) can send me a message if you find anything of note :) You can do that under the "About" tab on my channel
Back up a little, raw Lyrium emits a song ? So following your logic on the old gods video, assuming Solas sealed the souls of the old gods in the black city, what if brute forcing that seal altered the call, even if unintentional, it could explain the arch demon calling, Solas seems to be against premature killings of those 7 dragons, but I cant remember anywhere that would suggest hed be against killing them during a blight
Could it be that dwarves are the consciousness of the titans? Maybe the titans are asleep because their minds were removed from them and made to take physical form as dwarves while their bodies were torn to pieces and merged with the planet by ancient gods (tevinter old gods)? Maybe dwarves don't dream because they are the dream taking physical form, they are in a sense titans, that's why dagna thought al the thoughts and why you're told that you can't be tall without the titans, it's not like connecting with titans will make a dwarf tall but it will return him to his proper body? that's also why you're inside a titan below the deep roads, it's not like you're inside the complete and cohesive body but in the place where the body of one of them was deposited? It sounds weird but what isn't weird about dragon age mythos?
So the titans are basically the fade for dwarves. They act as a network, creating a hive mind for the dwarves, but something, possibly the veil, or something mythal did, cut that connection off and made the titans go dormant. We know that the connection to the stone still exists since dwarves can track lyrium veins. It’s likely we will never get the full answer, but the real twist here is how red lyrium and the blight play into this. Dark spawn don’t come from above ground, they come from underground along with the archdemons. If the maker created the dark spawn as punishment then why put them underground where their first target would be the dwarves? Why not put them above ground? This leads me to believe that the blight is directly connected to the titans, maybe it was created when mythal killed a titan. The elves mined its body but later sealed it away out of fear. Fear of what? My theory is that whatever mythal did to that titan when she killed it also tainted it, creating red lyrium. The elves were terrified of it, so they sealed it away deep underground, where it would later be rediscovered. We also know that people infected with the blight eventually become dark spawn, so that would mean that dark spawn don’t just come out of nowhere, they come from different races. There’s a bit of evidence that ogres come from qunari, and genlock’s likely come from blighted dwarves. Dark spawn hear a song that calls them to archdemons, just like dwarves hear a song that calls them to lyrium and the titans.
> Dark spawn hear a song that calls them to Archdemons, just like dwarves hear a song that calls them to lyrium and the titans. The prisons themselves even still sings after the Old God/Archdemon inside has been dug out, corrupted and freed. I am betting on the theory that the Archdemons were imprisoned inside Titans, and that the song attracting the Darkspawn isn't purely a product of the "Old God" but a unique Titan song created by the interaction of a sleeping "Old God" and its Titan prison, which is also somehow asleep, they synergize to create a song the Darkspawn are attracted to. I don't think the "Old Gods" intend to call the Darkspawn to them, nor would they want to be blighted and become Archdemons. If the Darkspawn hivemind came out of a blighted Titan, IE it's a corrupted and twisted version of what the Dwarves once had, it makes sense they would still be able to connect to Titans, and it might be the vector of infection for the Old Gods, their sleeping minds are linked with the sleeping Titan around them and when the Darkspawn connect to the Titan they blight both the Titan and the Old God, creating an Archdemon. This could also explain why the First Blight came about right after the Magisters Sidereal entered the Black City, if one combine it with the idea that the Black City is Arlathan and its 7 gates are the locks keeping in the Evanuris and the Blight. I would suggest that Dumat may well have been imprisoned in the first blighted Titan that the Evanuris sealed away, and that the Magisters broke the seal on the blighted Titan by breaking open the Black City. That would explain why the First Blight was so rapid, the Darkspawn didn't need time to build numbers or to reach Dumat, because had already built up their numbers and corrupted Dumat inside their prison for ages.
"Whatever, I'm done. Lyrium is whatever the plot says it is at the time." Hey! Wish I'd seen this earlier. I understand it ALL now. EZO is lyrium! More seriously, I have more faith that the devs will fix the world physics, even if that means a ret-con or two, and a whole lot of unreliable narration exposure. I mean, I HAVE to believe that, because otherwise, WHY spend all this time trying to speculate, or worse - fix it in fanfiction. Nodules in your body. Riiiiiggghhhht.
if what you say is true, and it does make sense. I have a theory, mostly pertaining to how dwarves dnt dream. when Solas created the Veil, it maybe caused the Titan to, not panic, but lash out, like in Descent with all the earthquakes. It was cut off from the fade; since the Titan's blood is lyrium, and lyrium amplifies magic, Im willing to bet that mayb there was a time when dwarves had some magic abilties, maybe not I dnt know. But when the Veil tore open, it awakened the Titans. causing earthquakes. Mayb being cut off from the fade had an impact on the dwarves afterward. There's still a lot of unknown and lost knowledge long forgotten, Mayb a Savant like Sandal, with the ability to enhance weapons and armor with enchantments, was mayb more like the ancient dwarves. He has more connection to the fade and I feel that maybe there's more to Sandal then we know.
Oohhhh, so basically the veil made the titans "tranquil" so all of the dwarves, through their connection with the Stone have some sort of high-functioning tranquil affliction. No magic, no dreams, but they still feel and want as intensely as other non-tranquil beings. Wow, that works really well! I always wonder about the blight, too. It's a corruption that affects all living things, including lyrium which, as we now know, is the lifeblood of a living thing and therefore "alive" enough to be similarly corrupted. But where did that corruption come from? And what the hell are darkspawn exactly? The common confusion seems to be that darkspawn are like zombies that spread the taint and a tainted person turns into new darkspawn but with a little digging we know that's not true. The taint kills, and only broodmothers make more darkspawn. The broodmothers ARE corrupted versions of each original race and all that, but they can't have been there from the beginning. Unless... maybe the corruption started with the lyrium. We always assume Genlocks are the most abundant because it's mostly dwarves fighting and being adbucted by darkspawn and that does make sense... but what if the original darkspawn were dwarves (genlocks) corrupted through the lyrium. Maybe even Sha-Brytol?
I love your videos, but I think all of our questions really just come from a lack of good writing. They purposely leave it vague so they can use it for future games... Want the answer buy the next $70 dollar game just to get the same question.
This is all fucked up. Solas said they can twitch, but they can't dream. Does it mean they can NO LONGER dream, as if they were able to dream before, and whatever they did stopped them, possibly sundering their connection to the fade and the dwarves? And what of the dark spawn? Are they sustained by lyrium too, which is why they tend to stay underground
That's all? You made a little mishap, the titan is the stone i think that is at least a certainty Maybe the Titan is the maker considering a certain chantry verse: ''When their was no earth you were the earth and when their was no sky you were the sky'' when viewing where the heart is it makes the possibility very promising... The whole under the deeproads was likely mean the centre of the earth? The titan is the planet itself more then likely :/ Sha-Brytol are basically what Templers are, Sampson and his Red Lyrium Armour pretty much proves this, the reason why their disconnected is because their not pure meaning their not part of the stone....When they reach for it, it blocks magic; my reasoning for this is because their not mages so this reaching is like trying to use magic they do not have so it drains the magic around them trying to make use of it but they can't, sort of like trying to fill a water basin without using a plug to why the dwarves became disconnected it is as simple as knowing the blight happened so maybe that's how Mythal attacked the titan? Or maybe it was solas himself by creating the veil which made the titan slumber, the dwarves it connected to obviously had died and that's why it panicked when it woke because it could feel no one... Still you should think about why mages turn into harvesters which is basically melted flesh and why non mages can become golems? The first enchanter of Kirkwall transformed with a simple spell if i recall and he learnt that from a friend apparently...It's weird that it can be so simple? Is it because its drawing on the magical essence of his being? that being why lyrium needs to be carved into the flesh of a golem to be? Oh well...gah i type basicially way too much...
[Spoiler for Solas] Do we know how much was actually affected when Solas created the Veil? And when did it happen exactly? Were there humans and dwarves, even Titans before?
We know that elves and dwarves existed on the same plain, since mythal killed a titan. The titans could’ve been connected to the fade though, and when the veil went up the titans became cut off, as well as the dwarves. We also know that red lyrium has the blight, and since lyrium is like the titan’s blood, it’s possible that a titan became tainted, this creating the blight.
Letícia Chavaglia She says it's alive or "something like it." Like, if a human was infected with the Blight, then you would find that in their blood. So if lyrium is Titan's blood, that would work the same way, I think. But I do kind of agree what you said. I think Titans draw life from lyrium. Like...Imagine if the world existed first, back before the Veil. Then the Titans came to be underground by drawing life from the lyrium. Sorry if I'm not explaining this well XD
So Titans were Archdemons for dwarves? Also, the whole infused with lyrium reminded me of Fenris. Maybe the ritual done to him had something to do with the Titans?
So, I like your videos. (Having recently started a new play through of the entire series) It's nice to have some speculation. Here is my guess about what the titans are. sorry about the length. My guess is that the Titans are pre-veil. They were massive beings of magic, only allowed existence because of the semi-malleable state of the world. "Natural" beings always existed in my theory, usually subservient to the more powerful beings. Dwarves, being the closest to the titans, have developed a certain tolerance. Upon the creation of the veil, tolerance turned to immunity. Think of it like drinking caffeine to stay awake longer, it works for a while and then you need more. And more. And after a time, it doesn't even matter and you crash. I think that would be what happened to the dwarves. When the veil was created by the elven gods (if memory serves) most of these beings were cast into the fade, or chose to remain there. The ones separated from the fade, their power source, eventually fell into their slumber. They would never have awakened had the corifinus event never happened. Just hibernating and "bleeding" lyrium until there was no more and magic ceased to exist. The dwarves being in decline since their disappearance makes sense as they would have developed a codependency on the magic of the titans. Now, with the first titan awakening and subsequently being discovered by Valta, would seek to restore its connection to its servants. Valta, was the first it found that wasn't perverted by its own blood, clean or "pure" so to speak. Going back to the elven gods, they were just powerful mages. At first, the elves enjoy a type of utopia because of their power in relation to everyone else around. With the dwarves having no magic and living underground and humans both not having magic and not even being on the mainland at this point. Their fall only happened with the onset of humans coming and learning from them, splitting the dwindling magic in the world even further. The elven gods must have been the ones to teach humans, being named as Tevinter's "old gods". Even letting their spirits take the bodies of humans during their long slumbers. As time progresses and the elves lose their immortality, some of the gods become embittered towards humans. Leading them into blood magic and eventually the black city. I doubt they understood what the black city was or what the consequences of their deception would be. Enter the dread wolf (forgetting his name at the minute). He sought only to put the conflict to rest, but as is the trend here, his goal was accomplished with side effects. With the most powerful in the world gone, the blight runs unchecked. The elves, aware of the threat, are helpless to do anything as they have to deal with another new threat. Death. Knowing they are dying and trying to combat this new blight, their civilization crumbles. Humans and Tevinter become the superpower of Thedas, and the story of expansion, ruin, and then decay rule the world until present day. I have more but I feel like I've gone on long enough. anyway, I'd love to hear your thoughts on what i have here. As well as know if you see any glaring points that are known to be wrong and I just dont remember or havent seen/read.
stephen roy everything was good up until what you said about the fall of the elves. Fen'Harel, alone, created the veil to save the elves from their "gods" wrath. Humans only came once their empire crumbled. As for what you said before that...it's interesting. I'm not sure how it all works, but the coffee analogy worked, I think. Though I'm not sure I agree or disagree with any of it, it's definitely something to think about when I go to make more videos
Once the connection is made Valta says that she is "pure" she can defend herself. This made me think of what would be the opposite of purity: soiled, dirty, scummy,........castless.
luffyjam I like that a lot! There are also the profane which are literally "impure spirits of the Stone". I think I meant to mention them in this episode. I forget why I didn't. I think it's because it was getting long as it was and didn't want to have too much. I think I'll make another episode for the Dwarves at some point anyway
I think they should have just stayed with the DA:O storyline, simpler, humanity against bad things, blah blah blah. ya know could have started DA:O at the first blight instead of the fifth, and then took the story to the last blight through other games. i don't know.
Have to say this is my least favorite take of yours. Lyrium is not perfect as a concept and is either incomplete or intentionally misleading. However....you consistently just drop it when it “doesn’t make sense”. No one knew it was titans blood until the Descent. Know one knew it was alive until Binava’s revelation. It is very likely that the properties are confusing since it isn’t consistently used. Only Grey Wardens, Mages and Templar’s ingested it, and that was in its non blighted state. It seems more deadly to Mages, likely since their already connected to the fade. Templar’s and Dwarves can use lyrium in unique ways. (The Sha Brytal, Golems, Templars and Tranquil can work with lyrium with resistance to its magical properties.) But Mages are rapidly afflicted with the singing and can be poisoned and killed. Not to mention much more easily possessed. The Demons and Spirits can’t use lyrium but are attracted to it, and just like others they hear the song (but more clearly and can understand it more due to their spirit senses). If you keep looking at Lyriums properties it makes sense that it’s harder to define it by who uses it, how it is used and in what state. The anvil of the void uses the heat of the stone, properties of lyrium and talent of the crafter. Brancka and Caradin use it differently. Since Caradin is older, has a Golem body and created the anvil himself. But both can use it to create Golems. I don’t have enough space, but I think you need to do more research and discussion on this one....
Just to follow up: Tranquil can’t dream, Dwarves can’t dream. Both are somehow sundered from the Fade. Seekers can dream, but only because they reverse the right of tranquility by being temporarily possessed by a spirit of Faith. Dwarves do have spirits but are only connected to the stone, and as such they return not to any stone but to the organic stone of a titan. It seems likely that they can dream and use magic but only when they are properly “pure” and connected to a titan. Thus when they are corrupted via the Blight they cannot return to the titan and any magic they use is Blight magic which is not fade connected. It seems very likely to me that the enhancement of magical abilities and resistance/dampening is a reaction to the user. Are you connected to the fade? (Non-mage/Mage Elf, Human, Qunari (possibly elf and dragon bloodlines) = magical abilities enhanced via connection to the titan that uses Lyrium to bring the fade into the real world) Are they sundered from the Fade? (Dwarves, Tranquil and non-Mages) then it tries to connect you to the titan and this the fade but you have to be “pure” like Valta or else the connection isn’t right and thus that false connection makes you resistance to magic. Not to mention we still don’t know much about the Void, Blood magic and Blight Magic. Which could help explain more, as well as how the Veil might distort Lyrium and it’s properties. What if it also distorts Lyrium and it’s properties?
maybe titans were tranquiled by Mythal and that's why it can't dream again. And that's why dwarves do not connect to the Fade, becouse this 'thinking all the thoughts' is in titan 'mind'. Stone =/= Titan so dwarves are still connected to it. I don't know, I am not a scientist 😖 😆
That's a good theory, especially now since we know there is a cure for tranquility. I also liked the idea of the dwarves being hive-minded. Perhaps the Titans' bodies are each their own unique hive or colony, with their mind serving as the "queen" (using insect analogy here), and the dwarves as the workers. When a Titan was killed all the dwarves who dwelled/served within died as well. Those Titans who are sleeping are in a magically induced coma or sleeping to heal wounds. And when the Titan awakens the dwarves will lose their free will and become worker bees again.

Cole is cryptic as hell
If lyrium is both the blood of titans and a bridge between the fade and thedas, maybe it's the result of how the elvhen slew the titans. They didn't kill them so much as locked them away in a mostly eternal slumber. They dream forever because their very blood is in the fade, part of it even. Maybe I'm just high af tho 😂😂🤔

I appreciate your time and effort in every video. DA theory videos are far and in between nowadays.
What if the Titans are the Forgotten Ones?
TheWhiteWolf Precisely! :D
Mako poisoning even does similar things to lyrium poisoning.
so that's what shale was saying back in dragon age origins I'm still friends with shale that's a character they need back in the story
Please, please, please... do more of this kind of video! (and more frequently perhaps? :)
22RiaKon22 I'm doing my best XD my next one should be up within the week, if I'm lucky.
I've always thought that the Fade was the source of magic. Lyrium "...bridges the gap between the dreamer's world and the waking world..."
I suppose it's a matter of perspective.
Yeah Lyrium is the Ultimate McGuffin. Well that's how I see it.
5:38 that's exactly what I thought! But has it been backed by any codex or official materials yet?
Lee Only that Valta said the Stone must have existed first. Other than that, not really. But the way the Titans are connected to lyrium, they seem similar to the golems and harvesters, which were also given life from lyrium.
I was re-watching this the other day and I got to thinking about the Tranquil and their (lack of) connection to the Fade and Lyrium. And if you've read Asunder, there is a wealth of information there on the Rite of Tranquility and the events that lead to the Mage/Templar war. Will you be making a video on Tranquility some time? I think there is a lot to explore there.
Sarah Marie James I never thought of that. It's a good idea, though! I think I will. Got a lot of other ideas lined up first, though
I'd be happy to help with research. :)
Sarah Marie James You (and anyone else reading this) can send me a message if you find anything of note :) You can do that under the "About" tab on my channel
Ever consider the Titans embody the void and that's why there's no dreams
WHERE HAS THIS CHANNEL BEEN MY WHOLE YOUTUBING LIFE?!?
"Whatever, I'm done. Lyrium is whatever the plot says it is at the time."
Hey!
Emerald Munoz I really like these ideas! Thank you for the comment!
The titans are like Eiywa from Avatar? And the dwarves are like the navy?
This is all fucked up.
Solas said they can twitch, but they can't dream. Does it mean they can NO LONGER dream, as if they were able to dream before, and whatever they did stopped them, possibly sundering their connection to the fade and the dwarves?
And what of the dark spawn? Are they sustained by lyrium too, which is why they tend to stay underground
That's all?
You made a little mishap, the titan is the stone i think that is at least a certainty
Maybe the Titan is the maker considering a certain chantry verse: ''When their was no earth you were the earth and when their was no sky you were the sky'' when viewing where the heart is it makes the possibility very promising...
The whole under the deeproads was likely mean the centre of the earth? The titan is the planet itself more then likely :/
Sha-Brytol are basically what Templers are, Sampson and his Red Lyrium Armour pretty much proves this, the reason why their disconnected is because their not pure meaning their not part of the stone....When they reach for it, it blocks magic; my reasoning for this is because their not mages so this reaching is like trying to use magic they do not have so it drains the magic around them trying to make use of it but they can't, sort of like trying to fill a water basin without using a plug
to why the dwarves became disconnected it is as simple as knowing the blight happened so maybe that's how Mythal attacked the titan?
Lyrium is Element Zero from Mass Effect
[Spoiler for Solas] Do we know how much was actually affected when Solas created the Veil? And when did it happen exactly? Were there humans and dwarves, even Titans before?
We know that elves and dwarves existed on the same plain, since mythal killed a titan. The titans could’ve been connected to the fade though, and when the veil went up the titans became cut off, as well as the dwarves. We also know that red lyrium has the blight, and since lyrium is like the titan’s blood, it’s possible that a titan became tainted, this creating the blight.
But doesn't Bianca say lyrium is alive? If so I would think it works like the geth, you get a lot of it in a single spot and it gets smarter
I think the Dwraves used to be hive-minded giants... Think about it.
COMMENT. (Hype you see how this ends up in Veilguard)
I think they should have just stayed with the DA:O storyline, simpler, humanity against bad things, blah blah blah. ya know could have started DA:O at the first blight instead of the fifth, and then took the story to the last blight through other games. i don't know.
just annoying that a story is started, then ripped apart and seemingly pieced back together in a weird not so fitting way.
(The Sha Brytal, Golems, Templars and Tranquil can work with lyrium with resistance to its magical properties.)
But Mages are rapidly afflicted with the singing and can be poisoned and killed.
Just to follow up:
Tranquil can’t dream, Dwarves can’t dream.
(Non-mage/Mage Elf, Human, Qunari (possibly elf and dragon bloodlines) = magical abilities enhanced via connection to the titan that uses Lyrium to bring the fade into the real world)
Are they sundered from the Fade?
