I owned the twin to your 55 when I was 17. I am building another 55 that I sold in 2009 and bought back. Will be out next spring. I also live in Mass. Maybe we will run into each other sometime. very nice 55
Sweet car, Fred, 55s hold a special place in my heart. Back in high school (early mid 60s), my late best friend had a 55 maroon convertible. He replaced the 265 with a 283, Duntov 30-30 cam, 12:1 Jahns pistons, Mallory, Headers, and various carb set ups including a single 4, 2-4s, and for a couple months 4-2s (story in itself). He had a 4 speed w/Hurst, 4.11 posi, chrome reverse wheels w/ 7" cheaters, no front bumper, and tack and gauges like your set up. For a couple years it was perhaps the coolest non-new car at Boulder High School out here in Colorado, it was just a back yard, high school kid hot rod but what great memories of cruising around in that thing, the solid lifter fuelie cam made the sweetest music. He also picked up a 2 door like yours and when he was drafted later in the 60s his folks had the junk yard haul both cars off while I, too, was gone in the navy. My friends and I had a collection of 55-57 Chevys and Fords with a couple other things thrown in, it was a magical time...
Centerline rims? Had those on my 56 150 utility sedan ..also had pairs of Magnesium wheels. Three pairs of old five spokes. One set of five spokes on my car now...the rest of my wheels we're shipped to two brothers back East that run their tri fives at a drag strip they run..sent me pics of the wheels on their cars..made me feel good they found a good home. I grew up in Santa Rosa and had American Graffitti next door in Petaluma..like crusing fourth street in Santa Rosa when I was in high school..good old days! 3:19
It's very nice. Looks like your hood baffle is smashing the upper radiator hose. You may have to move your hose clamp screw to the side and lower your radiator. It will eventually wear through the hose.
Nice Ride "uncle" Fred!
Nice car

Nice job, and with centerlines, great hot rod!
Love your car!

Great Eye! It is actually an illusion. The hood is not hitting it. The hose is flat and came that way. Thanks for the comment.
