    Baked plantain chips are chips made from green plantain. Plantains are members of the banana family, but more starchy and savory in taste. Unlike bananas, they aren't sweet and are lower in sugar.

    • @FashionRoadman
      @FashionRoadman  4 роки тому +1

      Your definition is halfway there haha. There are many types of plantain chips. If you use green plantain then the chips won’t be as sweet and will taste more savoury. If you use yellow plantain like the ones on the video, they taste a lot sweeter.
      Definitely right about plantain and banana being from the same family

      Tops/jackets that are Cropped in the body, high waisted trousers. Those types of clothes will really help proportionally with someone who’s shorter. If you don’t mind fitted clothes, they’d also tend to look proportionally better as opposed to oversized silhouettes, which can just end up making you look shorter and stockier. At the end of the day, wear what you enjoy, and it isn’t that serious.

    do y'all know where i can find/brands that do simillar trousers like maharishi sno pant? im female but i dont mind buying mens as long as the waist fits (27w)
    i have a pair of some early 2000s hishis that i've fallen in love with and wanna wear more stuff like that
    or just any recommendations for brands i should look for that do cool, unique baggier style trousers in general

      I’m sure plenty of people have some ideas for similar brands but maybe look towards Japanese designers such as undercover, Mihara Yasuhiro or Kapital. Also, don’t forget you can maybe buy W28/29 and then get a nice staple piece belt to rock all the time

    • @ayumelove

      Buy the smallest waist then go to tailors and get them to take the waist. I know it's extra cost but the way it is. I'm 5'8 and often have to get my trousers hemmed. It's just life and move on.

    Things that this guide is lacking:
    1. Actual detailed research into the aesthetics and silhouettes that you like e.g. being into punk so therefore researching and collecting vivienne westwood, undercover and raf.
    2. Having a curated personal aesthetic, you can't just fling together random brands and designers, personal style is all about reference. No offence to the way you dress but its literally just designer clothes mashed together with no cohesiveness just simply colour matching.
    3. Stay off social media and be inspired by art, architecture, photography, music, film and more :)

    • @FashionRoadman
      @FashionRoadman  4 роки тому +19

      Ultimately this is a 10 minute UA-cam video, it can’t have EVERYTHING. It’s more an entry level for people to understand how to start developing their style. But I don’t really agree with what you said - however, each to their own opinion. In regard your your first point, the thing about research into aesthetics is that it limits you into one box. The reason people such as ASAP Rocky or Luka Sabbatt are held to high acclaim for their style is due to their ability to delve into more than one style or aesthetic and being versatile with it. Yes some days I might wake up and feel punk/rock but other days I might not. What am I suppose to wear on those days? Fashion is partially a reflection of mood and you as a person, this is something that is constantly changing - that is why I personally don’t agree with limiting yourself to one box.
      For your second point, I understand what you mean by reference but there are literally 365 days in a year. You slap on clothes over 365 times each year, not every single outfit can be a reference to something, that’s not just realistic - especially for someone who is trying to start developing their style, which is who this video is primarily aimed at.
      For your third point, I completely disagree. You said stay off social media and take inspiration from art, architecture, music... but these things literally ARE what social media is in this day and age. There are art accounts, music accounts, architecture accounts. Infact, you can be more in touch with these things than you have ever been able to as not only can you hear music, but you can go on a music artists Instagram and literally what they take inspiration from and what inspire them and how they dress etc. Social media is the cumulative and cohesive amalgamation of all these art forms you’ve described.
      each to their own opinion - I strongly disagree with yours but someone else might agree. However, like I said, the target demographic of this video is more entry level and the kinds of things you are talking about is more advanced. A video to cover EVERYTHING to do with style would be several hours long 😀

    • @SDG951
      @SDG951 4 роки тому

      @@FashionRoadman Fair enough you gave some valid points especially with the last point I probably should have said try to stay away from fashion influencers. fashion/style opinions will always be subjective I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. and for the luka and rocky comment they both have a pretty cohesive style. cohesive doesn't mean wearing the same stuff everyday. if you wear to say who wears western boots and Celine you'd think of luka, i'm just advising people to gain a style that personally and solely identifies with them and not the instagram explore page and bait pieces. But yeah completely understand this is for starters in fashion.

    • @VarietyShow
      @VarietyShow 4 роки тому +2

      S D I think your points are largely valid, but like they just said, I believe versatility is better suited to most people than a firm commitment to a certain aesthetic. I find myself enjoying various aesthetics in my wardrobe, whether it be largely vintage inspired, to Undercover-punk inspired, to contemporary Raf and Yang Li, these three aesthetics are ones I’ve found make me happy after about 4 years of frequent experimentation.
      I do agree with your point though that most “style” these days lacks a lot of visual cohesion, and is instead focused largely on colour coordination and branding. I would suggest to people to avoid these types of styles, and rather look at colours, silhouettes, etc. to form their own personal aesthetic.
      As far as research goes, I think the research comes with the curation of your personal style, or styles. Raf is what originally exposed me to Mapplethorpe, for example, and now I really love his photography and own several pieces from that collection. If you truly care about the inspiration and references that go into fashion, you will do the research into the clothes you love. The same thing goes for films, music, and art. If you truly care, you’ll put in the effort.
      I appreciate your different take and thoughts. Always nice to have a differing opinion on topics such as this 🤘🏻
