    Bread is the first band I ever saw live. I was 11 and went by myself to the concert. Walked to the show and walked home. My parents let me go and never even worried. I stood in line after the show and got their autographs. How the world has changed.

      Yes "bepriceless" you could do things like that back then. But, it's not the world that has changed? It's the people who have changed. And Not for the better either? The kids today have No morals, No Respect for themselves, let alone others? What was & used to be Good & Right. It is Bad & Wrong these days. I'd Hate for people like my Dad and/or Grandparents to see what people are like now. I can bet you that They would Not be happy & would Not put up with it for a second? Dear God. Please Forgive them. Thank you for this video. It is amazing. I went in the Army day after I turned 18. I cared for a lot of young men that had missing legs, arms, I also worked on the burn unit at Ft Sam.While waiting for my orders.They had an annex off from the hospital. after all the hell those young men went through being bombed When they could at least get up and walk or use a wheel chair, they got moved to the annex. I can't remember its name. They had Red Cross set up there so the boys could play pool, table tennis, and fooseball. Gotta tell you if they were sitting in a wheel chair they had it made to beating you Even though it was horrible time, I miss the place and the men. We loved each other with such respect. Once I got my orders I got stationed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. They always said if you got orders to go there you did something right. These songs was a part of our every day lives. Wish I could see them today. Again thank you sir for the memory.

      You're totally missing the part where Jimmy Griffin also sang some tunes but none of them are put out as a single. In the classic band lineup was David Gates, Jimmy Griffin, Robby Royer and Mike Botts. David sang vocals and played guitar. Jimmy played guitar, keyboards and percussion and also was a vocalist, Robby was mainly the bass guitarist but he also was percussion, flute or recorder and background vocals and finally Mike Botts was the drummer. Ron Edgar and Jim Gordon were used for piano playing on the first albums. Royer left in 1972 and Larry Knechtel took his role over. Larry also played the harmonica on several songs. The band began in 1967 and took a hiatus in 1973 But returned in 1976 only to officially disband in 1978. David Gates went solo but they decided to reunite in 1995 for one tour. When the touring ended they disbanded for good in 1997.

    ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME WITHOUT A DOUBT.........NO LIPSYNC HERE JUST THE REAL THING,

    • @lawrencestaton1010
      @lawrencestaton1010 5 років тому +1

      Nope sorry it is lip synced. Otherwise who is singing harmony on Everything I own? The bass and other guitar player wasn't. The drummer doesn't have a vocal mic. He does have a boom to pick up cymbals. However it was common in those days due mostly to time and money for all bands to lip sync. The very best you could hope for would for them to sing to a prerecorded track(to give a live feel and appearance). Plus his voice doesn't change volume when backing to and from the mic. That doesn't make them any less great. It was really a money/time thing.

    • @lawrencestaton1010
      @lawrencestaton1010 5 років тому

      @@tjvanpopta really that's your comeback? I do kn ow the other members. Glad you took the time to look them up. Not sure what their names have to do with it. Being a Bread fan as you are please watch the whole video. Everything I Own has harmonies on the chorus. Please listen the watch the video. NO ONE ELSE IS SINGING. NO ONE ELSE HAS A VOCAL MIC. Just sort of odd. No looking for a fight but since I worked for Dick Clark production back in the 70s. I'm aware of what and how certain things were done then. Shit like this always bothered me. Similar to no cords for the guitars. Before cordless came along. Happy Turkey Day.
