Heya! CPT here, also a woman in her mid 30s. Strength training, esp for women, is VITALLY important, especially as we age. The more muscle we have, the better our metabolism functions, and the better our bone density will be as we age. Cardio is also important for heart and brain health of course, but I always want to encourage weight training for everyone but especially women as we move through the next seasons of our lives!

Thank you so much for keeping your videos and vlogs G-rated! Don’t get me wrong, I read some spicy books and watch R-rated movies… but not around my very young kiddos. Sometimes I want to throw on a video while making dinner or washing dishes, and it’s so nice to know that you won’t do me dirty by yelling out an F 💣 when my kids are within earshot haha Thank you!!!
My granddaughter is around Gigis age. She loves watering the flowers & never forgets. Get your girls involved, lol your plants will thank you

Advice for the flowers- water probably twice a day. When the roots and plants get larger, they will need more water because the root to soil ratio will be greater. (Meaning it won’t be able to retain as much water as when they were younger plants. They’ll also need more water to support all the growth) You can also plant each of those in the ground like they’re one plant, they will get large, so don’t put them right next to each other. It’ll give you more grace with watering. They’ll still be statement pieces, just a little easier to care for. I hope you see this and it helps make caring for plants easier!

Also, I wear dailies everyday and they are they best for my eyes as they’re very dry. Regular contacts would allow my eyes to “breathe” like the dailies, so DAILIES FTW🙌👍

sounds like you haven't experienced the joys of linen. Once you wear fabrics actually made for the season, you won't go back to denim shorts lol
Strength training is so important, especially if you’re a runner. As a woman, you start losing a bit of bone density starting around your 40’s and especially as you near menopause. Strong, built legs will keep your chances of fracturing (from the occasional spill, like I’ve done) much smaller. Strength training also helps with metabolism. You can’t go wrong with it. And you don’t need to lift heavy!
I’m admittedly not a doctor or a nutritionist…… but my objection about all the thrive market products is how many fall in the processed or ultra-processed category. There is more research recently about the impact of processed foods on our overall health, even if the ingredients in the product are “natrual/healthy” the fact they’ve been through industrial processing has an impact. It’s worth reading up about and considering eating more raw or whole foods. :)
You don’t have to be a doctor or nutritionist to know that and understand that or have an opinion about that. You are correct
If you’ve seen a lot of their vlogs and videos the cook a lot from whole foods. But, everyone needs convenience foods to fit their lifestyle. If people have access to better quality processed foods, that’s a least a plus.

I am so glad you are changing your approach to exercising and focusing more on strength training. You will be so much better off as you approach Menopause. Do all you can to fight against Osteporosis/Osteopenia.

PT here, strength training is so important for the body, it improves bone density and the key is giving 48-72 hours for recovery which gives you the best results, for lean strong muscles focus on lower weight and more reps/sets. Barre is the best workout you will have cardio wise and to maintain functional strength but it takes a lot to do(former ballet dancer as well, not professional) I am also not a big fan of running, its not good on your body in the long run in my opinion. ultimately find what you respond best to and fits your life. love watching all your videos!
Quick tip for your hair- let it cool completely before you break up the curl. It will set once cooled, and the curl will hold longer. When is hot, it's still in a vulnerable state.

Jess, here in FL, we wear a lot of skorts. They are so cute and comfy. It does not seem to matter what age because many look like golfing skirts, and old ladies rock them. They are fun and have so many bright colors!

My summer outfit staples are flowy midi-long dresses! They are comfy and easy to wear but immediately make you look dressed up. A new addition has been skorts! I just got a linen one from Old Navy- OBSESSED! Look a little more feminine and dressed up compared to jean shorts (and more comfy imo)😉

Hi Jess! Happy for a long vlog to keep me company while working. 🤗 Regarding the Uniqlo thing, your pronunciation sounds more like “unique-lo” but the real pronunciation is “uni-clo (YOO-nee-kloh)”. As in “unique clothing”, which is the original name. I don’t think you’re that far off, but I guess some people are perfectionists! 😁
My eldest works for Uniqlo and gave me the pronunciation lesson years ago.
The brand originated in Japan .Both my sons speak Japanese, and it is pronounced more like Unee-cuelow.Strong accent on second half.

I love strength training! I have started doing barre at home when I can’t make it to the gym. You can absolutely do barre using a chair or nothing at all!

I just found a whole bunch of summer clothes at old navy! Lots of cute linen pieces. Skorts, dresses, tops that go together like a set too. I was really impressed with the quality for the price!
Most comfortable summer shoes I've ever owned are Corky's. They have a yoga mat type inner lining.
I have their wedges and sandals and can wear them ALL day SO COMFORTABLE
