Actually, that Binibining Pilipinas song is classic. It was composed by a renowned Filipino composer Nonong Pedero specially for BP and it was first sung in the early 70’s. It was rearranged to fit P-Pop’s genre.

Marites is actually a contraction of the Tagalog phrase “Mare, ano ang Latest?” (First and last syllables combined) loosely translated to “Hey, Sis, what’s the latest (gossip)?” Marites is therefore a person who loves to gossip. So the question actually asked for the difference between a historian and a rumor monger.

If I am not mistaken, the total amount of all her special awards was somewhere between P2.7M to P3M (or roughly above $50K). She may not have won a crown but all those product endorsements (contracts etc to follow, of course) have already set her up for a better tomorrow so to speak. She's the biggest winner for this edition!

I've been an avid viewer of your youtube video and I like how you critique and give your own opinions about the performances of different queens who compete in different pageants which I enjoy watching. The story behind the question "personally, how can you distinguish a historian from a marites?" Marites is somewhat a term that is used to describe a person who gossips a lot. The association of marites to a historian was trending because of a statement that was given by an actress who played a character from a very controversial movie related to the marcos era of martial law that is believed to have been revised. The movie is now showing in the Philippines and still continues to create a buzz here due to different issues.

One of the most watched upon segment of Binibining Pilipinas is the Q and A round. Long before the contest started I have been betting my "nom de plume" to my friends and it was not only the name but my credibility that one of the possible questions in the pageant would be the Ella Cruz gaffe in relation to her promoting her movie "Maid In Malaca- nang when she said history being tsismis. The whole house was turned to ear-splitting scream when the last judge Joshua Garcia (I was almost contrite and repentant for betting my reliability and plausibility just like that) but when he asked "how do you distinguish a Historian from a Maritess" that closed doubts in the discussion that CURRENT EVENTS indeed holds a spot in pageant Q and A's.
The opening song was composed in 1974 specifically for the Bb. Pilipinas Pageant. In the late 90s (1998-2010) the song was re-arranged. It was then not used for 10 years. So for 2022, they re-hashed the song and made it more P-Pop (Pinoy Pop) by tapping on SB19. I actually have every version of the song hehe.

Hanna is still assigned to compete at MI2022. Nicole won’t compete until next year. During Puteri Indonesia, the previous contestant that was supposed to compete at MI2022 (Ayu from Bali) decided to go back to school and gave the current winner the spot to compete at MI2022.
First Miss Grand International Crown is very possible. Roberta Tamondong is the most gorgeous Miss Grand Philippines ever sent to Nawat. Back-to-Back Miss Intercontinental Crown is also possible. Gabrielle Basiano is always making a great show. For Miss Globe, First Runner Up could be her highest placement. I don't see her winning the Miss Globe Crown but First Runner Up is very possible. For Miss International, First Runner Up position is her highest possible placement.

Her family is poor and they lived in a shanty but gained national attention when she joined a variety show contest and made people laugh bec of her funny style; she's a comedian. During Puteri Indonesia, the previous contestant that was supposed to compete at MI2022 (Ayu from Bali) decided to go back to school and gave the current winner the spot to compete at MI2022.
First Miss Grand International Crown is very possible. Roberta Tamondong is the most gorgeous Miss Grand Philippines ever sent to Nawat.
Back-to-Back Miss Intercontinental Crown is also possible. Gabrielle Basiano is always making a great show.
For Miss Globe, First Runner Up could be her highest placement. I don't see her winning the Miss Globe Crown but First Runner Up is very possible.
For Miss International, First Runner Up position is her highest possible placement.

I liked Ms. Basiano's attire (which paid tribute to her styling last year with the amazing headdress-turned-small-cape), but I would have preferred the removal of the hat sooner, to reveal her great hair & face.

👑Karen Mendoza really deserved a spot but unfortunately, the placements are very few and it is really expected that there are front-runners who won't make it and she's not alone in the case of Graciella Lehman and Cyril Payumo who already won an international title previously. Unfortunately, she posted an online remark about the result of the pageant which made her not very pleasant. I wonder if she will be joining again as fans have realised that she has not sportsmanship.
👑Nicole Budol won't be joining again (Miss Shrimp); she said she joined the pageant mainly just to accept the offer of her showbiz manager who offered her a house and lot if she accepts the offer. Her family is poor and they lived in a shanty but gained national attention when she joined a variety show contest and made people laugh bec of her funny style; she's a comedian. Update: Wilbert Tolentino, Nicole's manager who once represented PH in Mr Gay World, a rich and powerful businessman, is eyeing to buy some pageant franchise and says Nicole will be sent to an international pageant soon.
👑I think this is the best and very competitive batch of any Philippine beauty pageant contest. Many deserved to wear the PH sash.
