Heavy anti-tank weapon (anti-tank grenade launcher) was named after this wind instrument. And yeah, I'm not particular fan of jazz or folk music (at least it sounds like this), but I came here to hear how actual bazooka sounds like (not so bad, to be honest).
I came here because I just read a news story of someone who was arrested for leaving rocket type weapons in a trash can. Said he was later found with narcotics and a Bazooka. I couldn't stop laughing, I thought they meant the musical instrument🤣.
the bazooka is a rocket launcher a RPG not a grenade launcher "rocket propelled grenade". a grenade launcher shoots 40 MM large caliber projectiles with modified heads for explosions or smoke not grenades. the Bazooka and Panzerschreck are the grand fathers of modern day RPG's not grenade launchers. grenade launchers are essentially portable artilleries they function the same way than the main gun on a tank or panzer. it is a massive bullet with a war head.
I came here after i read the origin of the name of the bazooka. I dont know, it kinda remind me of the intro to the cartoon called ed edd n eddy from cartoon networks.
No, the bazooka is a rip-reed instrument, like trumpet, trombone and tuba. The mouthpiece of my bazooka is shown here, while it is not ultimately necessary => goo.gl/yZHiEc
Where was this filmed? I love all kinds of Music. Jazz , Folk , Americana , Foreign Folk etc. Sometimes Jazz is too busy. Is this Rag Time. I love the Asian guys playing it. Reminds Me of a scene from The Bridges at Toko Ri where a Japanese band is playing a jazzed up version of My Spurs Go Jingle Jangle Jingle. I traded Two Israeli German K-98 NATO rework rifles to a Orthodox Jewish boyfriend of My Sister . He restored and collected all kinds of weapons mostly German and Japanese Machine Gun’s. He wanted those Rifles that were used in the Wars to Found Israel. He traded Me a type 38 6.5 Arisaka and a 3.5 inch Rocket Launcher ( Bazooka) . I found out how it got its name and voila Here I am. I want to build one of these musical ones . It should sound good when I play Serbia Strong on the Melodica or Accordian.
And thank you, too. I stole the concept from the front tension zither banjos and adapted it since I don't have a machine shop. Personally, I think I had the best results with t-nuts like my lyric banjo.
moncorp1 How can *anybody* believe it wasn't the OPPOSITE?? What's next, potato mashers were named after the German stick grenades?? Grease guns were named after the M3 SMG "Grease gun"? How about pineapples being named after the American grenades?? And why the heck would soldiers come up with the name "Bazooka" out of the blue for an anti-tank weapon? Soldiers made up their own nick names for weapons after what they most resembled out of the things they already knew and had experienced as civilians.
moncorp1 Inc Please, the RPG earned the nickname "bazooka" by the troops because *it resembled this instrument* . You've got it embarrassingly backwards. And like TheIronDuke said, people called the German stick grenades "potato mashers" , hand grenades "pine apples" so obviously they gave the new portable anti-tank weapons the name "bazooka" because it looked like the instrument - which FYI predated the weapon by several decades. Another popular nickname for the rocket-propelled grenade launcher was the "stovepipe". Again, soldiers made up names from the civilian objects they were already familiar with.
You’ve done Grampa proud!
You should be a very proud grandpa
"Mom, I want a trombone."
Mom: "We have a trombone at home."
The trombone at home:
"Mom, I want a trombone."
"Ew, why?"
It is very, very refreshing to see young people play something 1920's style.
Excellent work, please don't stop.

I'm hoping for the dual purpose model..anti tank and music in one.

@denis tardif
The Bazooka weapon is a recoiless rifle, not an RPG launcher.
@@iunnox666 it is a rocket launcher idiot it has no rifling hahahahahahahaha

Same here!
Wouldn’t be surprised if one was used as a background sound.
I can't understand why this instrument isn't more popular. 🙉
Because trombones exist lol
Trombones are actually somewhat different. The slide doesn't affect pitch on a bazooka. And it's a joke instrument.
@@iunnox666 interesting. What does the slide affect on the bazooka?
@@1happboy Harmonic overtones. Changes the timbre, essentially.
I was a musician for many years, and somehow never knew about the bazooka being an instrument! i've even played a sackbut lol
So you can try to build and play one, with a pair of PVC pipes and a funnel!
Nice! That one goes without backblast area receiving a hit upon use
Thank you! This is the original form, and that anti tank weapon was named after this musical instrument.
Sounds kinda like Charlie Browns teacher!
Ha, no it was great. The festive music puts me in a good mood. Loved it.
I have searched for charlie brown's teacher and understand that you are right! hahaha

So it's a giant kazoo.

No it just sounds like one
@Vinluv Handesbukia Sorry, not for sale. My very long text on how I built this bazooka is here (in Japanese)=> www.jazzboilers.com/posts/5520644
I built it from a tension rod, which is special one made of stainless steel for bathroom use. The funnel part is made from an engine oil can.
Kazooka
Ah I can hear why that instrument never caught on.
That's a very clever design.
I... acutally want one. Cus it looks really unique.

Quisiera escuchar esas bandas en mi pais que no molestan a nadie.
Lastima que solo hay bandas de borrachos que te despiertan alas 4 de mañana
I think that would actually be better at blowing up tanks than as an instrument.
That is purely an effect of which gained the most recognition by Hollywood, comic books and whatever the plebs enjoy.
I’ve got something in my front pocket for you…
Grandpa is happy for you

Can’t seem to hear anything.
It's the bassy kazoo-like parts reminiscent of Sax Man.
You got an NFA stamp for that?
they rejected my application. I can't understand why...
Are there any other videos of a bazooka being plaued???
Is that a square box resonator on the banjo?
Technically, it’s a straight trombone.
Nope, the tube is too wide to actually influence pitch
beta jam
So it's a modern tromba da tirarsi en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slide_trumpet AND ua-cam.com/video/nR54obIpf3Q/v-deo.html
You are right, thanks!
Oh, that big palooka that plays the bazooka done dealt a fatal blow to my heart. ua-cam.com/video/xEBRfb4hPQY/v-deo.html (Like so.)
Very, very nice.
I bet people will remember this more than any of the garbage that gets pumped out today.
And im only 32.
Cringy "im only x but I listen to this music" comment is cringy
Saying you’re only 32 like that meant you’re young 🤣 old man
whos here from Kai
That instrument was called a bazooka. Troops thought it resembled the new rocket launcher and thats how it came to be known as such.

slide bass clarinet lol
No, this is actually a short trombone. But a bass clarinet version, with a reed added, is also worth trying. Thank you for a nice suggestion!
