@@AidanRitchie I’ve thought about going that route and I have a Rudy Meinl F Cimbasso Bell that may fit on the Chinese horns since they are a copy. I should probably just be happy that I’ll have a contrabass trombone soon and chill for a bit.
So I've heard now! Of course I pronounced it wrong, I've actually never thought about it. Interesting that he still has artist model instruments for sale.
I think people sleep a bit on the Bach D cup for bass trumpet and even alto trombone, model depending of course. The limited bit here on your bass trumpet really sounds like a low trumpet, I think we forget about the trumpet part when we're tasked to play it. Thanks for all you do!
Yeah, the D cup makes the horn really sing- it gets that awesome color to it and the intonation lines up WAY better. Most of all, it doesn't feel tiny when you play it, it just feels right.
Again, the y fort in a top spot. I am currently selling my instrument (hopefully will find a buyer) to aquire the 763. I am waiting for your full review 😊
I Have a Jupiter 594 brass Sousaphone it plays and sounds great. And it has been my daily driver horn for 3 years. but I do have an E F Durant bass trombone, but its a Chinese copy of that specific horn you have. My model number Horn is Jinbao JBT 830. and also the last horn in my collection is the Eastrock Tenor Trombone from Amazon, but it was $150. its surprisingly sounds great for a beginner trombone.
I haven't been following up with your content in a hot while, last time I remember you having a tuba was when you had that Kanstul 3/4 CC. That thumbnail was a jumpscare lmao
A couple of years ago, you did, "What's the Perfect 3-Trombone Stable?" Why is it, then, that you have all these bones? Is having a plethora of posaunes (or a stable of sackbuts, if you prefer) cost effective? What's your ROI? I know that my playing days in the Rocky Mtn. area pales in the opportunities you have on West Coast, however, I was able to make it happen on just two instruments (a tenor and a bass). But again, are all those bones worth the money you've put out?
There's a couple reasons. I love playing music, I love creating art in a collective act with others. I also, in a parallel way, love the instruments and things themselves. It's spendy but it's really my main hobby. The horns also don't lose a ton of money in my possession- they're more like assets you can play, to an extent.
I’m here for the tuba revolution.
I'm just trying to catch up!
@ Which one of us is going to get a cimbasso first is the real question!
@LowBrassU you can! The o'malley is very good btw

@LowBrassU what do you have on the way?? Voigt?
Siegfried Cieslik (CHESS-leek) was the bass trombonist in the Berlin Philharmonic before Stefan, during the Karajan and Abbado eras. He was a beast!

Need more K-valves 😏
Absolutely
Never again
B&S still to my ears sounds the best!
That's why it's so annoying!
There's a good Hammond mouthpiece!😂

BRAVISSIMO
Would be fun to see a picture of the physical space all these instruments take up, especially with two tubas.
*twobas
After cutting the tuning slide , I think just leave the 50bg as is! May be cool to have a single bass for some choice settings.
That's what I think every time I own a single... and then it never gets played. I've owned 10!!
@@AidanRitchieah dang it 😅
@@AidanRitchieperhaps 40s-50s Conn 70h ?
@michaelstanton4661 I mean sure, but I wouldn't buy one for very much. It just won't get used
Found a nice used Edwards B454E bass trombone for 4k flat in my area. Any thoughts ?
Thanks !🙏
If it's a modern horn with edge bracing and in good shape, that's a potentially good price. If it's anything pre edge bracing that's too high

Let me know if you ever want to sell your Bach 12. :-) I'm looking for a "cheap beater"
