    Thank you for the issues update. I hope you get all issues worked out.
    I read maintenance reviews for Tucson Arizona LaMesa RV so I am not surprised at the difficulty you are having with them. Keep your head up and know that there are independent RV Maintenance shops to help you.

    Wow....thanks for the update. Ft Myers is my local dealership....the fact that they didn't even put the propane switch the right side up, just confirms for me that ALL of these rv manufacturers have gone down the shitter over the last 10 years. Now I'm convinced that a custom builder is likely a better option!!! Hope you had better luck with it since posting this video a few years ago!!!!! 👍👍👍👍

      This van is Long gone! And we have a van with true quality (Noovo). We completely agree that these days, a great custom builder does amazing, quality work on vans (example being Rover Vans). It is sad what the industry has come to. We are just glad to have some builders stepping up and truly making what we've always needed in this industry.

    Whenever you buy an RV you are buying many repair projects. New or used it is all the same. We have a Winnebago Travato 59k that we bought one year old with 5k miles. It had been garaged in a beautiful home and well cared for. Stove, sink and fridge never used. Bought it in Phoenix from a private party and drove home to Oregon. Our van that looked perfect and smelled new had 10 issues to be addressed. We also had the front top bathroom trim piece loose. The Truma issue for us was that the knob was too deep so the company said "put a small piece of paper in the hole and put the knob back on". That actually worked. Once the Truma heater fan would not come on. A pull of the fuse and replace and it did come on. Ours is a generator model and it had not been used by the previous owner so the carburetor was gummed up. Onan is a very large company and did have same day repair but the warranty does not cover carburetor gumming. Our running board light strip went out on half of it. Several more but I can fix just about anything. Glad you are in a new L model would love to have that. What percentage of list price did you get as a discount? Did you get a good trade in? I think one of the best things about the Winnebago is that while you are under warranty or even out you can go up to Forrest City, Iowa and get a repair by factory techs. Enjoy the Volta system it is an absolute must for full-timers and folks with pets especially if you live where it is hot much of the time. Also when it comes to the two popular floor plans the G is best for full time and working on the road. The K is best suited to weekenders.

      Unfortunately for us it was more than the basic issues we even discussed. Electrical issues behind the walls and such that we didn't get into. Huge fixes that were from serious lack of quality control and poor engineering. Lots of ethos owners have been chiming in on this and pressuring Entegra/Jayco for answers.
      Lesson learned on why you do not buy first year models for sure. One issue with the RV community, is the motto is you should expect issues when purchasing a new RV/camper. That would not fly in any other industry (coming from someone who was in executive management for over 10 years, the companies would go out of business if that was the case).
      So people need to start demanding more from these manufacturers. It's starting to happen and some are feeling the pressure with social media, but there is still a long way to go.

    I purchased a 2021 Ethos, our sink is leaking over our refrigerator. Had it in two times to get it fixed. the fix was setting the refrig, on floor, so now there is a space between the top of the refrig. and the counter, and the door now is almost sliding on the floor. I also had a window that wouldn't open.
    I do love to drive it and the gas mileage, We seem to have enough space for us and our two dogs.

    • @NealBritt
      @NealBritt  3 роки тому

      Yeah we ran into too many issues with build quality, being a huge reason we ended up getting rid of it.
      Unfortunately I think they will need another year or two to iron out some of the build function issues, but I am not sure they will address build quality issues because of the current state of the RV/ travel trailer market. Huge supply shortage and Thor (mother company of Jayco/Entegra) has 14 billion dollars worth of orders to fulfill at the moment. So they, like most companies in the industry, will try to keep pushing out the units as quick as possible.
      With so many people reporting issues to them hopefully they will get the major issues resolved though. The Promaster chassis is very spacious for a class B for sure and it rides very nice. I would say they need to fix yours properly, maybe try contacting Entegra/Jayco directly about the issue. They will most likely contact the dealer and make them fix it properly. Seems to be the only way to get some of these dealerships to do things the correct way unfortunately.

      La Mesa. We purchased in Albuquerque, NM but have been dealing with their Fort Myers, FL location for the repairs as my fiancée is on a travel nurse contract in Florida. I would not recommend them as they have been horrible for customer service (never return phone calls or live up to promises at this point).
      If I do not hear from them at the end of the week I will be contacting Entegra directly and having them send me the parts I need for the repairs and doing it myself. I have no confidence in La Mesa at this point.
      Have had the rig now for a good while and still haven’t been able to have hot water or heat. Simple fixes, yet they have not been able to do it. Waiting on parts now after a full day waiting for them to diagnose the issue when they already were made aware prior and knew exactly what they needed as I did all of the diagnostic work for them. They told me what I already knew and told them exactly after sitting there for a day 🤦🏼‍♂️

      We honestly love it overall and it drives amazing. The Truma system and solar on the firefly you can figure out when you are looking at your van before purchase. Truma dial should push easy. The solar should show right up on the firefly touch screen.
      The van radio I think is a fluke because from what we have heard thus far it is actually installed by dodge before delivery to Entegra. I will know for sure soon.
      I would just carefully walk through the van. Entegra has been great reaching out to us to help. The La Mesa in ABQ has been great and this afternoon I spoke with them, and they are trying to handle everything with their Florida locations now.

    On the road day 3.
    1. Fridge not working.
    2. Little folding table on passenger side broke ( the damn bottoms support is just a little 3/4 inch piece of wood fixed with staples
    3. 1500 miles and the odometer is flashing indicating service required
    4. Blind spot assist disabled and don’t know how to enable it.
    4. Shower wall delaminating near sliding door. Glue wasn’t strong enough to hold it
    5. Screens have 1/2 inch gaps top and bottoms so they are useless. Had to duct tape the holes
    I also had a bad pioneer but la Mesa swapped me a nee one before delivery.

    I just bought one. The only issue is the blind spot monitoring system does not work. Reason? The Pioneer radio disabled it. No warranty coverage from Ram because it’s aftermarket. Paid $200 for the inspection. It’s inexcusable for Jayco to allow that. Sent them the bill for reimbursement. Ha! A fix is supposed to be in the works.

    • @paulgrohowski6718

      Read my comments above; Entegra has a problem with the Pioneer unit communicating with the Mopar computer modules. After my first radio replacement and return trip to the dealer to get the Mopar systems up and working again, the technician was still registering error codes from the Pioneer radio. Mopar don't seem to like aftermarket stuff! Radio #2 failed yesterday.

    • @NealBritt
      @NealBritt  3 роки тому

      I would definitely be calling Jayco because everyone we know with the issue has had it covered 100% as it’s part of the warranty through Entegra/Jayco and a very known issue now.
      As Paul said, these issues with the radio and electrical system keep happening and Entegra has been made aware. We have a group with at least 5 people that have had similar issues with the radio.

    Here's an afterthought on problems with the 2021 Entegra Ethos; 2 of 4 of my sliding/locking windows do not function, and have not at delivery. They were on my punch-list and ignored by the dealer RV One. The delivery guy stated they are aware of the defects with these particular windows but they need to be changed out, post-delivery, and only if you complain to the manufacturer. Also, the manual reflects a water control panel that is non-existent in my coach. I've read a few on-line comments from other owners who have no way to easily fill their water tanks or to divert to city water when hooked up at a campground.

    • @NealBritt
      @NealBritt  3 роки тому

      I believe you have the version (only know one other with that hinged panel with the valves if it’s what I think you are referring to) and that is the switch over valves to fill the fresh water from the city water fill by putting the valves in a certain position. You can also put the valves in a certain position to set it up for winterization.
      Most of us have the version that we don’t have the hinged panel and valves. Instead we have a removable panel and can just access the water filter from there. No two valves like you have.

    We just purchased our 2022 Entegra 20a. The Finance guy offered us a 5 year warranty for about $5K. Is it advisable to purchase the extended warranty? It's our first van camper by the way. Thanks.

    • @NealBritt
      @NealBritt  Рік тому +1

      Normally no, most people do not purchase the extended warranties (just like with cars or trucks). They are normally overpriced for what you actually get for warranty coverage.
      So you really have to go through the details of the warranty, try to get the cost down as much as possible on the warranty, and in the end it’s up to you.
      If it’s a decent warranty, it makes you feel more comfortable, and you don’t mind spending the extra then go for it. Just usually it’s not worth it for most people.
      Plus, I believe it is still a 2 year 24,000mile warranty that comes with entegra class b’s so it’s much better than other manufacturers 1 year warranties. So it’s a pretty good warranty from the manufacturer and gives you time/ miles to use it and have any issues come up, so they can be repaired under that warranty.

    • @almamanuel9665
      @almamanuel9665 Рік тому +1

      @almamanuel9665 ahh yeah 2022, so you’d have to look if the entegra warranty can be transferred over (if it still has it). The prices on the extended warranties are negotiable, so definitely try to get them down on price if you do go for it and make sure to read the fine print on exactly what it covers. We have seen some decent ones and some horrible ones.

    Even though these RV's seem "expensive", you basically bought the cheapest one you could get with a Dodge, the Ford is better and the Mercedes is way better but you get what you pay for. There is a reason Air Stream sits on a Mercedes and cost more than twice as much for about the same size and stuff, it's much higher quality and with that comes higher price and way less problems on the road. You either pay up front for things or you pay later but you will never get what you don't pay for no matter how pretty something looks or what a salesmen tells you. It's the law of business.

    Let me tell you something.
    I have owned two travel trailers, a fifth wheel, and now the van all from different makers. And guess what. They all have problems. All of them. How many and what problems varies.
    But as for the van, I have basically the same setup and I have the very rare and intermittent pioneer radio screen not coming on which yes turns off the usb and aux plug as I recall.
    The Truma not working is odd. Have you contact customer support to guide you through checking all the hidden fuses and breakers not in the main electrical panel. Check with both integra and Truma.
    And as for the dealers, in my experience they are all the same worthless sacks. They are your best friend until you sign and then they don’t know you and the service department couldn’t care less. Learn to fix things on your own where possible and get in good with the service teams at the maker. Before Covid you could get in with them in Indiana. I did with my last rig. I have been to Elkhart many times. Not sure where integra makes those.

    • @NealBritt
      @NealBritt  3 роки тому +2

      Thanks for the great input. It’s really appreciated!
      I’ve (Neal) owned a few previous and I’m pretty handy (learned from my father at a young age to figure things out myself, work on vehicles, home renovations - electrical, plumbing, etc) so I prefer to fix it all on my own. Only issue at this point is I do not want to void any warranties.
      The radio I can easily fix on my own, but once I open up the dash it could possibly cause a warranty issue on that component. I didn’t include in the video to keep it short, but I looked over all the fuse box diagrams. Found in forums that it should be in the fuse box under the hood, but could not find any in the diagram indicating they were for the radio. The auxiliary and usb inputs run directly from the radio, so that makes sense why they are out too.
      Checking the grounds tomorrow and then letting Dodge/Ram handle tearing the radio out so I don’t risk a warranty issue potentially.
      As for the Truma system I trouble shooted and everything the one time we got the dial to work. It fired up, as I could hear it when I opened the storage it is in and it did get very warm. Even smelled burning plastic so we shut it down. Since then the push dial will no longer work at all.
      I expected issues and told Brittany to prepare for it, but I wasn’t expected the Truma system dial to not work lol.
      The full list of issues is:
      Main power disconnect not working - power stuck on at all times.
      Trim over bathroom came down the second day.
      Truma hot water not working.
      Truma controller dial broken.
      Steering wheel audio controls working intermittently.
      Pioneer radio now non responsive.
      Middle support to form king bed is stuck in the bed requiring dissembling the whole bed unit to pull out.
      Split in the wood where the grab handle is on the side entrance of the van.
      Window coverings for the front windows from the factory do not actually fit the windows.
      Side rear “house” windows not engaging in the locks fully when closed unless you shake them into place.
      Partially our fault for rushing to head to Florida the day after we received the van so Brittany could be hear and ready for a new assignment.
      The issues are okay and will be fixed, if not by the dealer I will, but the dealers response was the most frustrating. Rude on the phone and confrontational, and now three times not returning calls when I was promised from an employee by the end of the day just to schedule an appointment to be looked at.
      All in all life goes on and I enjoy the van. Once we make it more homey and exactly to our needs it’ll be perfect. I try not to be negative and just keep telling myself this is just part of the journey. 😂😁

      @@NealBritt Are you telling us you are still not getting a satisfactory response from the dealer or the manufacturer about these issues?

      The manufacturer has been excellent. We have an appointment with La Mesa in fort Myers, FL on the first. It was their customer service when we called that was frustrating. Twice with them promised a call back to schedule the appointment, never happened. The third time I was actually able to schedule it.
      I called La Mesa in Albuquerque, NM, where we bought it, yesterday about the radio issue. Wanted to verify if it was installed by Dodge or Integra, to see if I had to bring it to the Ram dealer to have fixed under warranty or at La Mesa - since ram won’t touch it if it’s considered aftermarket.
      Was promised a call back yesterday afternoon and it never happened. So I’m actually calling Integra directly in just a bit since they have been absolutely amazing.
      As Vanderlust stated, RV dealers overall are horrible. Always have been and always will be once you go off the lot. I know if we were still out in Albuquerque they would have got us in right away because they are much better than the Ft Myers location.
      On the first we should hopefully have our issues handled, but they want to keep it overnight. We live in it at the moment with our cat so it means renting a car and hotel. When it reality it’s simple fixes that I could do myself in less than a hour once I have a new Truma control panel. Just do not want to risk voiding the warranty is all.
      Worse comes to worse we will make do with gym showers until we are done in Florida and make a drive to Entegra in Indiana. You can hookup right at their shop and stay, then go out for the day while they work on the rig.
      Overall Entegra has been incredible. La Mesa bad, but I didn’t expect much from them to be honest based on the reviews lol.

      Good news is the radio is back on. I was able to dig into research and speak with a friend who works on Rams. It’s the ECM (computer module). I need to disconnect the battery and make sure to press the brake to drain any residual charge. If this does not fix the issue 100%, the ecm needs to be flashed at a ram dealer.
      Was able to figure this out because my odometer was blinking. It’s the biggest indication it is an ECM issue.

      We picked ours up today and because of your video, we were very thourough with our walk through. I hope we did well. Do you know about the Entegra Ethos Class B group? We joined it. Some good info there.
