Man Chris is one of my favorites and for sure one of the best!! I saw him with Act Of Defiance and we all went out to dinner before the show. He and their vocalist invited me onstage that night to perform I’m Broken as a tribute to Dime. Getting to pay homage to one of your guitar heroes with another one of your guitar heroes is a surreal experience. You rule Chris!!!
Last month I met him and In Flames (except for Bjorn and Anders) at the airport day after seeing them play with Meshuggah. Had a badass conversation with Chris, asked about his guitars, his signal chain, his set, and Jeff Loomis. Broderick even dared to pay for my Starbucks coffee! Out of all artists/musicians I had the pleasure to meet, I have to say he is one of the best, most talented, and most humble ever! He deserves a lot more recognition for his insane talent and I'm happy I had the chance to tell him how much I appreciate his playing. Thank you for the upload!
I saw him with Megadeth once, he made playing guitar look as easy as tying shoes or breathing. That guy is really an amazing player. Only other player I've saw make it look that easy was Eddie Van Halen Really wish I could have saw him in Nevermore. Him an Jeff Loomis on the same stage? Best duo ever? As far as technical ability I think they were. Those two are both incredible, I saw Loomis in a club in Seattle that I can't remember the name of, it use to be called Under The Rail. It's a dive but I loved it.
The problem with Megadeth is that the players have to go all out there; pour their heart and soul. Give 100% all out. And all while walking on eggshells to not poke the bees hive, while eventually simply working and giving your all for somebody else's (ie Dave Mustaine's) dream. The bright side is that they do get their exposure. They also get to be associated with metal and music royalty, and Mustaine actually gives them a platform to shine, and invites them to shine too.
broderick is wasted in in flames he was pretty perfect in megadeth because he is so technical maybe the songs werent the best during that era but he was so good in his soloing
Yea he was the only one that could nail Marty's crazy solos to a T. IMO the best guitarist MD ever had in their modern era. That said, hes like Marty in that hes a musician first and foremost and no band can really contain them. It's sad as a Megadeth fan but it also makes me proud as a guitarist.

Great to hear. Chris is the real deal, no doubt.
Great podcast. Wish there was more Jag Panzer material though. Mechanized Warefare is a great album.
the most talented people always the most humble' great interview really enjoyed that
This mofo was immaculate at River stage in Brisbane when he played with Megadeth. Surgical precision playing and amazing chops

@21:30 for what we all came here for... You're welcome!
I would like him to stay in Megadeth. Those albums I like way more than the newest one.
