Thanks for trying, I really appreciated it. And I think your right. I tried it on my mine and with the 4 cell it beeped 6 times, but not sure if it was at 100%. But it ran. I reprogrammed it for the 4 cell it then beeped 4 times, the power on the bench was about the same. I though it would change automatically from 4 to 6 cell. But don’t really know. Thanks for the shoutout. It must be warmer where you live, tooooo cold for a short sleeve here! THANKS AGAIN Danny from Tennessee
It's a shame that HH did not mention the ESC programming for a 4s in their introduction video. I did however downloaded the manual for this model and I did not see it mentioned in it either.
You can run her on 4s by recalibrating the ESC with a 4s installed. Or so I have seen, however this is a big bird and given the wattage of the motor vs the output of the 4s i am afraid it would be like flying with your wings in the sand. 6s all the way!!
I threw a 4S in my 2000mm fms Beaver just for the heck of it one day....it was a scary dog to fly.....6S all the way on these larger electric aircraft in my opinion....they just perform that much better....I'm always wanting a little more power on all these anyways....more power can sometimes get ya out of a jam when needed....just my opinion is all
You guys are talking in the wrong text. Prop size and RPM is all you need to know at a wattage that will suit your planes weight and flight time.( already calculated by Eflight) Changing the cell count and keeping the same prop only changes power which changes flight time and performance. you know that eflight has already done what you are trying to do, you won't like flying this thing on 4s. As far as the ESC not working on 4s is a Horizon problem. any modern ESC should count the battery cells and set the min. and max settings for you.. Shame on Horizon, they don't want you flying on 4s because all your flying would be at a higher throttle setting and leave you no emergency power to pull out of a situation. Every one probably already know this info but you got it again. Try and remember the rules of wattage verses weight and flying style. Feel lucky Eflight gave you enough power to fly and have some fun at the same tome. If you want to fly longer put the left stick to work and pull it back.
I was only going to try it on 4s because Danny asked me to and according to Eflite you can. But I agree she is to big a bir and I am afraid it would be like flying and dragging a wing in the sand. I only fly my big scale planes on 6s and thanks for your helpful advice. I suscribed to your channel also. Happy flying!
6S is the way to go. much more flite time better bang for your buck. a little more money for the lipo but big deal you paid over $430 for a foam plane.
i fly helicopters myself a GOBLIN 570 & 770. and wanted to try planes. something big but don't break the bank . not to mention this plane will will take a EC5 plug and i use a spectrum DX9 so electronicly this bird is right fit for me. 6s 5500 mah 50c i use and 6000mah for my 770 . helicopters are the hardest to fly and maintain to keep up with but i still love it. im thinking about this plane because it reminds me of my Dad because he was a pilot an always wanted a real piper cub, so every time i would fly this plane it would remined me of my Dad. My Dad was a aviation mechanic he worked on P51 Mustangs and worked on helicopters in the sevice for 35yrs so some of that rubed off on me. so i took up RC helis now go into planes. but just want know if this carbon Z is the real deal and if you recomended it. it does look to be easy to fly. not much runway it takes and i fly in fields. the big wheels attracted me to it besides the electronics. how is the eletronics? looks to me they should have 90 amp ESC. But is that 60 amp ESC good enough? i did see a couple of videos that changed to 90. also 2 videos had problems with the servos. anyone have there opinions on both these concerns. ok enough rambling. lol
@@topgun5399 The servos do whine at first. That will eventually go away. i have had zero issue with the stock ESC. The landing gear is very rugged and can take abuse. But would this be your first rc plane? I take the goblin and the other you mentioned are helis? right? If thats the case I dont reccomend this as your very first rc plane. Yes Helis are harder to fly but the muscle memory is totally different . This makes a great 2nd or third plane once your VERY comfortable with a 4 channel plane. I suggest the Carbon Cub s2 . Yes its smaller but they fly almost identically and the cub is much cheaper along with cheaper lipos. Your DX9 will work for both. you will need a few 2200 3s lipos for her. You can pick them up for about 20 to 30$ each. As far as the 6s lipos you have they will work great in the SS when your ready. But I do recommend the Carbon Cub SS if your ready for it. She is big and people can get intimidated by the size. Here is a link to the Carbon Cub s2 I mentioned: www.horizonhobby.com/product/carbon-cub-s-2-1.3m-bnf-basic-with-safe/HBZ32500.html another alternative starter plane in cubs would be the Arrows Big Foot and here is a link: www.hobbyzone.com/rc-airplanes/parkflyer/AH010P.html This bird will need a good receiver for a beginner I suggest the Admiral Stability plus here is a link: www.motionrc.com/collections/rc-aircraft-receivers/products/admiral-rx600sp-6-channel-dsmx-compatible-receiver-with-6-axis-stabilizer
@@FatGuyFliesRC If you check out the Goblin 770 on spool up is very intimidating. That copter kit alone is about $1700 for a kit. I got a good deal on it ready to fly. Check it out on Utube. RC ELEMENT has good video's but there are others. You better know what you are doing with that beast. It could kill if not setup right. The setup on this cub is nothing compared to that heli. The 770 is a huge heli. So this plane on setup for me is not that big a deal. In fact I have checked on setup and I find relatively easy. Collective heli's are much more involved .throttle curves, pitch curves governor's D/R expo so on. It has to be mechanically sound along with radio setup. It's not a matter of if I can handle it's a matter if I want to spend that much on a foam plane. The electronics to me as a whole worth about $80 and I'm being generous. My 160 amp ESC on my 770 cost almost $300, servos around another $300. My receiver witch is spectrum AR7210BX is a $300 gyro. So I'm use to hire end electronics. Personally I see this plane worth about $350 so that is why I ask questions but il take your word that you didn't have any issues. But some out there still complain about some electronics. But that is the hobby.
Yeah I did not relize you have to program the ESC for the 4s until I was out there. At the time I did not know how to program the ESCin this bird and did not want to try it at the field. FYI I subed to your channel. Thanks for watching!

Yeah it runs in the 60s to 70s right now, but its Florida after all. And your more than welcome on this attempt. Thanks for watching and God bless!
I know Im quite randomly asking but does anyone know of a good website to stream new series online ?
@Oakley Anderson i use Flixzone. You can find it by googling =)

You may stall a plane that big on 4s?
Agree not good on 4s in my opinion.
I'm here for the horse 🐎

Did mine on a 4s after reprograming the esc and it was Just Gutless No power very disapointing 6s is the only way.
Yeah it like flying whie pulling a bag of sand. I think they include it as an option because it will work, but they dont say ,"Just Barely!"....lol
Carbon S thats alot of power 6 S vs 4 S
This ended up being 6s because i could not get the 4s to run. i was not willing to reprogram the esc at the field.
