Low cam angle landing is easy. It's when your 45 degrees and up, that you can't see crap under you. Then just "toilet bowl" or "tornado" over a spot and disarm.
Thank you Joshua Bradwell, this is exactly what I needed. I managed to do rolls and loops even split S. Though I still have trouble landing. Last time I hit a branch and crash landed with a flip.
Took my drone out for a first flight, however when i land it and lower the throttle to zero as soon as it touches the ground it ramps the throttle back up and bounces around until i disarm it. Any advice would be much appreciated 😅
Why not simply change to angle mode, let the drone settle, take off the goggles and land gently with LOS flying? Seems much simpler than trying to land in acro. You wouldn't sail a sailboat into a marina, right?
Definitely an option that I do occasionally. Acro landing can be thought of almost as a trick itself, like the easier version of perching on a ledge. I guess it comes down to whether you view the landing as a part of the flying experience or not.
I found this video disappointing. In my short experience what really matters is picking a soft (grassy) spot and disarming the shit out of the drone before it touches the ground. The other day I was late in disarming it and the contact with the ground sent the drone in some kind of engine frenzy, it flipped, and it managed to damage itself by hitting small rocks in the grass and propelling them on the camera lens. Lesson learned. Disarm before touchdown. Use grass as a pillow to make landing forgiving. Remember that if you start lawnmowing the grass around the landing spot you gonna loose the camera that will get covered in grass dust.

Its literally the same for an approach to a landing in a helicopter...except you can't look down. Excellent series!
Absolute legend of the hobby

Yeah that's what I was gonna say just turn around instead of pitching back like crazy.
Yeaa... but it will jump again if your battery under quad
Ronaldo is to soccer as Joshua Bradwell is to FPV. Love the content man😊

A very comprehensive set of videos. I could have done with them when I started flying FPV. 🧐
Very good serie.
Great video! #usetheforce

Air mode is making your drone do that. Disarm before touching the ground or configure air mode only with acro mode and it will fix your issue.
prop wash?
Then add in the complication of trying to compensate for a dying battery with voltage dropping as you're trying to land 😉
Is flipping drone into level mode for landing considered bad paractic or just uncool? :)
Was in the sim feeling nice. Then i was like wait... how do i land... lots of crashes... i mean its stopped tho 😅
What would cause the motors to not want to throttle down even when I pull the throttle stick down and only after I throttle up past half way ??

I have told people to find that throttle point, but to adjust their descent with pitch..

Good point, i used to do that too but i found that landing in acro is more fun and it trains slow precise flying.

Not an option for those with glasses / bad eyesight.
Great Content
Why are fpv drones so prone to hopping when they touch down?
Since RID sort-of went live in September, JB has made very few, if any, live flying videos. Is that on purpose?
Unrelated I assure you.
You Take off get your shots pick a landing spot ZERO OUT and slowly ROTATE DOWN Game = WIN 95% of time

me and my boys don't land we just smash our quads in to the wall or tree
