Those new interactive figure sets I noticed are much cheaper than their starter course counterparts. Probably so people can get a cheaper counterpart of the LEGO Mario figure. I’m definitely gonna get the peach one, Someday…

Ikr... feel like hes trying to find something to complain about a little. Negativity does drive viewer interaction and whatnot. Not saying it isnt justified fomrom his pwrspective. But he didnt even seen to mention the fact this wave is clearly a kind of soft relaunch/reboot of this theme as a whole.

The new starter packs seem intentionally not made for people who already own the old ones. I’m honestly glad the Mario pack has nothing new so I don’t need to buy a second Mario

These all look so much fun! The Bowser Express and Soda Jungle look amazing, and the new Peach's Castle!
I'm excited for whatever different Mario-related games they can go into next. Maybe for the Donkey Kong expansions we could see sets based on Tropical Freeze, or other Donkey Kong Country Returns levels!

Nobody’s going to get the Mario starter set unless they’re new to the LEGO Mario play sets. That’s why I think it was a good idea to put older characters in there. And good characters, too! Yoshi and Bowser Jr are fan favorites so can’t go wrong
I might get it because my Mario is glitched and I can’t fix it and I don’t want to get another og starter course

Im going to play contrarian here and say this,
This theme is one of the most unique lego themes currently out. The electronic figures bring a lot to the table when it comes to play. This is a toy after all. And i dont think lego mario sets would have nearly as much going on for them if it was minifigure based. The fact that they dont have to make entirely new molds for every single character would have to make in this theme also adds to the vareity of the theme. They made less then a dozen molds and have made a massive vareity of mario character with em.
Also a lot of mario characters are pretty tough to translate to minifigure form. Like how would they do a goomba or a A yoshi even toads would be pretty tough to do well in minifig form. Most characters would end up like that roadrunner figure from that one cmf wave.
And finally i do want to bring attention to the fact that this is a nintendo thing. They love experimenting with gimicks and make wierd decisions all the time. I mean look at the switch or wii.
I have no doubt that lego mario is the way it is because of some nintendo influence.
@@TheBenjamanbut the electronic figures are just the definition of a gimmick, and I think that the enemy buildable figures are fine, it’s just that the main cast (Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, Yoshi, Bowser, DK) should be figures

I don't think the scaling of all the enemies would work if Mario and co were minifgure sized.
And as you say it gives it another layer of playability that's perfect for a Nintendo theme.
Vastly superior to the NES set or the Pacman arcade that are pretty useless hunks of plastic in my opinion.

Wow the lego mario course building sets are shelf warming like crazy. Its almost like nobody wants these course building sets and people want mario minifigure sets.

While you may have no interest in the new Mario starter course, my Lego Mario figure is very loose, covered in grease, and doesn't really function all that well anymore, most of the time when I add a new set to my digital collection I have to use Luigi or Peach. And as for the Luigi and Peach sets, I'll still get them for the Pink Baby Yoshi and the new Lakitu, I wish they fixed up Kamek's arms but it's fine.

Honestly, the only reason to really get the new Interactive Mario set would be if you can't get the original Mario starter course before it retires...or if you're a completionist who wants every Mario set, such as myself, who will be getting that even though it offers nothing new. Also Soda Jungle definitely looks amazing

These sets look so good, super excited for Bowser's train, and the buildings. I love how they fold up and become a full 3d diorama. Between these and the new Sonic sets revealed, it looks like I'm taking a hefty hit to the wallet 😅

i do like this wave! maybe i would LOVE it if they didn't slap on the lego figures onto those sets, then i would LOVE this wave. My faves are the poison one, the train, and the luigi and peach sets

And this wave seems like a soft reboot of the theme and a perfect time to get into the theme a bit more.

What is the difference between the interactive Mario, Luigi and Peach figures from 2024 and the standard Mario, Luigi and Peach figures from 2020?
I think maybe the new Interactive characters are able to be recharged by a cable now? I could be wrong

Perfect time for me to get back into Lego Mario! I kinda lost interest a few months ago cuz my cousins took all my sets apart and i wasn't able to access the app to rebuild, but tbh this is one of my favorite Lego genres!!
Good news, these new sets come with actual paper instructions now, so you won't have to look up the Lego website instructions if the app doesn't work

Well I don’t think that new Mario set is for collectors. I think it’s to replace the original set to be in line with their new branding so they wanted to keep the contents virtually the same.

Man… even sonic got lots of minifigures… why isn’t it possible for Mario? I mean I don’t wanna be THAT guy but I hate most of the Mario sets because the characters look so ugly especially the electronic ones. It just really hurts to see that literally every franchise gets minifigures with special molds and pieces.
I think the idea behind the new Mario, Luigi, and Peach sets is that they're cheaper than the original start packs for each ($50 compared to $60 and there's a chance stores might not be carrying the originals anymore

They’re finally getting rid of those stupidly shaped boxes. I can see this as another sustainability move because square boxes take up less room on shelves and are easier to ship and store.
And maybe a $10 price drop makes it more appealing to new customers.
100% that letter 2x2 in the new Peach figure will be Inter active and it maybe something like they'll one of the readable mario 3 letters or be bowser laughing from super mario 64
