The only way Punk would ever be booed is if he did something unforgivable. Like if he attacked someone like Rhea and left her laying. And a quick GTS wouldn't be enough, because the crowd would still pop for something like that. It would have to be a prolonged assault that bordered on difficult to watch. They would never do it, and I'm not advocating that they should. But that's the level of thing that it would take to get the crowd to turn on him. Something that would not only paint him fully as a piece of shit, but would potentially leave the company itself open to backlash.
I think the way he gets booed is to go full corporate boot licker and go back on everything he said before he left. Even going as far as to praise his “old boss” and say that he was best for business or something. Other than that though yeah Punk just can’t work as a traditional heel anymore without still getting huge cheers
Punk has been great since coming back. His promos have been good, but honestly, his last three matches have been more impressive. Despite his age and injury history, he is putting on some great performances in the ring
Yeah, you don't need to work like AJ Styles back in the mid to late 00's to have great matches, the pace of Punks matches have been easy to digest, telling a sensible story and leaving room to breathe, at least for me. I missed most of Punks career, wasn't watching the E during it, but I'm easily seeing why people latch on to the guy from all this. Might never crack my top 10, but I'm never going to say he sucks, because clearly he is solid.
Hear me out, Cena chases the title all year, has epic dream matches, falls short to get the title. Then on his last night until retirement, he has a shot at the title, and cheats to win the gold. Setting up heel Cena for next year’s wrestlemania, where he actually retires. Probably not gonna happen, but it would be wild.
If New Day did it with a promo segment, CM Punk can do it with a promo segment. He's an all-time great on the mic. If he turns heel, it will be because of something he says, not because of something he does.
I honestly think it's a distinct possibility CM Punk might be booed if he tries to deny john cena of his record, screwing him out of it etc. They'd have to make it look like it's a legit possibility Cena doesn't beat the record.
I’m not sure if there’s anything Punk could do that would turn him heel. Some ideas that come mind are: - costing Cena his 17th world title, towards the end of the year so Cena doesn’t have time to win it afterwards. (Even with this, half the crowd would probably cheer it.) - A brutal assault on someone like Cody, Jey, Rhea (😬). However, it would have to be justified, not just a random attack. Even then, again, I still think a large portion of the crowd would cheer it. - Aligning himself with Heyman in a way that paints him as a villain. Perhaps they could get there with the Roman storyline, since Roman is so adored these days. Maybe something like Heyman turning on Roman *during* Roman vs Punk and giving Punk the victory/title. But, again, a lot of the crowd would absolutely side with Punk over Roman regardless. It’s a tough one because Punk is a phenomenal babyface but undoubtedly even better as a heel, and I would think he wants a heel run as he’s often spoke about how much he enjoys it. But I agree that it does seem tough to pull it off with how popular he is and has been since his return.
CM Punk is the true heel in WWE. He left WWE for ten years, crap talks them, tries to destroy them, tries to destroy every single wrestler who didn’t follow him out the door. He comes back; turns the crowd against Drew, someone who worked their ass off for the crowd since 2018. He turns the crowd somewhat against Seth, who has given literally his whole body since 2014, scratched and clawed his way, not just to the main event, but to future HOF. When CM Punk says he is a cult of personally; he truely is, he is the real WWE version of Charles Manson.
Wwe deserved to be trashed on back then 😂 why do you think fans largely cheered cm punk over seth? It’s because fans can’t relate to corporate bootlicker like seth who defend multi billion dollar companies. Get used to hearing the crowd chant cm punk for every raw 😂
Crapping on late 2010s WWE doesn’t make him a heel most people agreed that the product was bad. Vince tried pushing Seth as the guy that year so Seth started bootlicking and defending Vinces shitty ideas. Punk was in the right.
An idea I would really like to see is Punk Vs Cena at the end of the Rumble. Punk beats Cena to become the 2025 Rumble winner. A despondant Cena is then given his final chance at getting a title shot. He has to qualify for and then win the elimination chamber. Which he does (he beats people like AJ Styles, L.A Knight, Logan Paul etc in the chamber). He faces Cody for the title. (While Punk faces Gunther or Gunther and Drew who wins the other Elim Chamberĺ) In their wrestlemania main event match (I have two ideas for how it goes). Option one: Cody, incensed at being unable to beat John during the match, turns heel and wins by cheating. He then becomes a mega heel as he is desperate to defeat Romans reignl Option two: In the lead up to the match, Randy grows increasingly jealous of Cody and during the match, while the ref is distracted by K.O, he RKO's Cody and John picks up the win. This leads to feud between Cody and Randy.
Nah, the crowd are firmly on Punks side. its not even 60/40 with this Seth thing, crowds are like 90% behind Punk, they like someone who can speak with conviction, its one of the bigger points in Cody's favour. These aren't the hyper tribalistic ones, like in AEW who turned on Cody, most of the WWE fanbase is far more lax. Not to say they don't have awful tribalistic tools on WWE's side too, but they will be drowned out IF they turn on Punk. That's my dummy opinion anyway. The only thing at this point he can do is walk up to Big E and tell him he's glad his neck is made of gummy bears. Then sure, we're all homies who hate on Punk. Big E is love, we shall die on his hill.
I obviously disagree with Ilja beating Gunthers record, but I would love to see him as champion. While it is very unlikely, it is more likely to happen than him turning into the title itself.
Here is how you turn CM Punk heel: 1. Cena and CM Punk are the final two remaining in the Royal Rumble 2. Cena wins the Rumble, second year that CM Punk comes second. 3. Cena vs. Cody at Wrestlemania. Cena loses. 4. CM Punk wins Money in the Bank 5. Cena vs Cody II at Summer Slam. 6. CM Punk cashes in, winning the title. Defeating Cody and Cena.
