Just a note on the other cars. The halo single seaters are GB3 cars, a bit slower than actual F3 cars, and the car in the gravel at the 6min mark was an old F4 car which is now raced in the GB4 championship
@ChapmansCorner the GB3 cars are brand new, made in 2022 by Tatuus The GB4 cars are the old British F4 cars before they moved to a halo based car. Really interesting to see the pace difference between your car and those ones. I imagine £/lap time is pretty good!
@@dombessell5876 interesting! I use the Tatuus in Assetto Corsa. Yes the £/lap time is the best you can get for less than £30k a year. I hear even GB4 is minimum 3x that
So what about a video explaining the differences between F1000, F3 & F4? Also why are the American & Aussie F1000’s different (longer & faster) than the British F1000’s??
@@ChapmansCorner Actually mate, I met up with the nice people from the 750 Club at the Autosport show and had a long chat with Frazer from Jedi. They explained everything to me. Though still think you should do the vid as was really interesting subject. Doing my ARDS test end of Feb….You might see me on the grid this year???😁😎👍🏻
@@steveindorset that’s awesome, I was gutted not to go. Frazer is a legend, he helped me get started too. I will definitely do the video, next test day with all the single seaters. What track are you doing your ARDS? Hopefully will Steve. Are you based in Dorset?
South Africa is celebrating the 70th year of Formula M racing. Single seater 3/4 scale Formula One lookalike powered by Motorcycle engines. Easy to build and installing a bike engine take care of the gearbox which is still sequential though a link and sprockets on a solid rear accell alows you to change front and sprockets for ratios needed at different circuits. The best of all is you don't need a diff so you can enjoy every corner like a gokart on steroids
It’s got character and quirks but is great to drive. Straight line we do, and smaller tracks, but high speed corner tracks we are a second or two slower
If you watch my latest video, F1000 Racing Highlights, 2:09 grid start you can definitely see the wear. Not sure if the manufacturers have markings, I’ll find out and let you know. Typically tyres last a race weekend which is 15 min Quali, and 2 x 15 minute races. Apparently old tyres can make 1.5s difference on a lap Manufacturer is changing for the first time, this season
Yeah it's weird right? I think it's the camera stabilisation, I've turned it down to standard. I'll try it completely off at the weekend as see if it works, without vibrating too much. Thanks for the comment!
I would rather that too! The F1000 Jedi championship doesn't allow that currently, I have heard they've started testing new cars with paddle though. Check out Monoposto, apparently paddle is accepted in that mixed car championship.
@@ChapmansCorner nice, thank! Love your videos mate. You’re doing as I wish I had done..hopefully I can find a drive somewhere for a decent price. All the best!
My dream ride would be a single cylinder 250cc kart, preferably on those DEA engines, they are able to lap this track at low 30s with roughly 70-HP and I'm sure they are cheaper to buy and run still. A lot of people prefer cars but having raced short-circuit karts for many years, if I could stay with a kart whilst migrating to the big circuits I'd very much prefer that feel. Unfortunately it's only in the UK that the single cylinder 250cc class blossoms, everyone else is about the twins and the big HPs and top speeds, but that is for the select few with the big pockets and I doubt they would be more fun anyway, certainly less reliable.
@@ChapmansCorner - the insta360 x3 would be a good choice, giving you the ability to change the view (to watch a car pass to the side and behind you as you pass for instance) is wildly cool but does add to the editing time in a not insignificant way. if you just want a single lens gorpo style simpler editing, the dji action 3 (the 4 might be out?) is really nice, doesn’t overheat and has all the dji extras.

@@ThePerpetualStudent they have the advantage of more aero through faster corners. We are lighter and more nimble for smaller tighter tracks and have more acceleration I believe
You are certainly a good driver, but to say that you are gaining ground in the wake of an F4, the driver in front is likely to be off with the handbrake on😂 You may be lighter, but you cannot compare your F1000 with a motorcycle engine to a car with a fiber chassis of carbon and a compressed turbo engine with over 150 hp. with excellent mechanics, a real Formila compared to yours and you can't compare your frame with his. Ok, maybe you were dreaming but don't make these comparisons, a driver racing in an FIA F4 Championship would definitely have pissed you off.
