This is a great intro. A few things I'd add. This is the most community driven game I have ever played. Joining a guild with other players that want the same type of game play is a big deal. If you want to know who is who is suggest joining the mo2 discord and searching the guild recruiting area. Another is that you are known in this game. 1 character means you carry your decisions with you. If you were cool to someone in x area that same someone might save your butt when his pvp guild is looking for easy loot. If you're a pvp centered person and let someone go that same person may create a cool set of armor later down the road that fits your build perfect. There is give and take here. I highly suggest this game. I've become a huge fan of the dev team and community in the 3 or so months i have been playing.
If you delete your old character and recreate a new one, you start at level 0 again, right?
If you notice after a week, that your built is botchered beyond repair (too old, too fat, too weak, too stupid) you might reroll and now follow a clear plan. (I personally find characters with small weaknesses more interesting to play! (shortsighted/arachnophob/chocolate-addicted/ ...))
If you ruined your reputation by annoying other players too often (not paying bills, not serving contracts, destroying, murdering, ...) you probably have to rebuild some month with your new (rerolled) character, before you are at the old level again. (And maybe this time, you learned to behave!)
@@michelaushamburg6766 you can raise or lower your weight/stats. The only reason to reroll is to change your race or height.

I suspect when you're reading books that's leveling up a skill as well as a prerequisite skill then that leveling goes up much slower, so don't be surprised if that's the case.
Cabbage and Karoton (carrots) are something that you can buy at the grocery vendor too.
Strength can be leveled up by woodcutting/mining, battle too. Intelligence is best leveled up by crafting stuff, even if it's garbage made with bone tissue, dexterity is also leveled up by crafting as well as running around to places to where you need to go.
Constitution and psych is probably the most difficult to level up, but psych can easily be considered lower priority for stats. So put a lot of beginning points into Constitution, some in dexterity, strength is the easiest to level up and if you use a dagger to spam thrust attacks on monsters you'll level up quickly. Zombies are better to level up on compared to bandits if there isn't many people in the graveyards to compete against because you can kill them quickly.
When leaving haven and picking your starting city:
Ghorim Kur (sp?) has no guards and is considered lawless, so beware!
Fabernum looks *exactly* like haven, but is not. Don't get confused.

Summary: 1) Get offline information, before you enter the game.
2) Go offline to get necessary information, when you are inmidst the game.
3) Your main source of information is *outside* the game, because in the game it is just try and error. [Chopping "down" trees increases your intelligence?? If you say/experience so ...]
Consider "immersive" only true, if you don't look for specific information.
Consider "sandbox" only true, if your ideas and dreams don't exceed the implemented possibilities.
Consider "MASSmorpg" only true, if the majority of players restrains from randomly killing players. (A good fight here and there is fine, but slaughtering is only diminishing the community.)
Consider "full loot" as true, but know, that the wise player travels naked with only the bare minimum of equipment.
I have the feeling, that SV creates the best fighting experience possible, given todays state of the art technology. But they don't care as much about crafting and they don't consider revealing information, not even basic stuff.
Also SV puts a lot effort into graphics, looks, cosmetics, architecture; movement etc.

This much weight into just research/creating a character along with stats being tied to looks for new players with the 2 hour refund on steam is going to cause a lot of refunds (opinion). Its very convoluted for the begginer. I feel they should add template builds with tooltip descriptions in the character creation.
It was a little confusing for my first character but one you grasp it , it becomes very customizable

The main point I'm taking away from this, is that I should lumberjack off more often.
The game *is* immersive (if no hostile players are around): at 12:05 I think: "How can flowers float in the air?" before I realise: "When programming this area, there happened a mistake."

Reading is a must first to atleast 40 no matter what he says. It make reading other books much faster. Reading to 40 should take 30ish mins to a hr.

This Skill system is loosely based off of Ultima Online how exciting!! This is the best system in my opinion hands down. I think the devs may have had some inspiration from Tibia as well. Great video I'm gonna play this game for sure thank you!
From what I've seen it raises higher skills slower, so you will hit the cap, but I think you continue to level the lower skills, it just auto adjusts them down with a modifier, so it will then go up those levels as the higher skills lift the cap.
I don't think you can change age or height or maximum stat limit after you've started, so those are critical otherwise you may need to reroll to get what you want. Consider clade gifts when creating your character because some will definitely tweak how you put in your stats at start. For example there's 2 clade gifts that give a size bonus to Thursar, but if you've already started out with maximum size then those clade gifts aren't worth as much. Research before you make your character so you don't need to reroll and start off again.

Having to work hard to make tungsteel weapons or armor makes sense, but starting at zero footspeed is idiotic. You should just start at full speed. It turns a huge number of players off, and when I first tried the game 6 months ago I was almost like "fuck this" and stopped due to the movement speed, but I stuck it out and liked the game... but it is a very annoying and awful first impression to a lot of people. No reason for it. Just makes the first hour or 2 miserable.
Good video mate, the only thing I'd suggest is (if possible) speak a little faster. I put the x1.25 speed and it was perfect, but thanks for the video!

Get the hell off Haven has fast as you can they severely nerfed clade gains farming them is pointless now. Training dummies only level your skills to 25 and you can only take 10 gold total items and gold with you.
Good luck with the murderers in the graveyards the over populated NPC towns it's going to be rough.

Amazing how fast stuff changes in this game, it's super frustrating. It's not 10g anymore, it's 3g. Also didn't say anything in the tutorial about needing 2 clade gifts to be able to leave. I made the 15-20 minute walk to the statues only to figure out I couldn't leave, even though the tutorial said it was up to me. Which of course it said nothing about the statues. I had gotten 16g while getting 2 clade gifts, and had to leave 13g of it in Haven. This game is honestly not what I expected it to be.
