I posted I like some of the things but they are going about things all wrong. It should be all or none. Wood effect porceline ne t to marble looks dreadful. If you cannot afford marble they could atleast used ceramic tiles painted to look like marble. You can get some very good ones that look like real marble that are affordable. Also I like the new blue carpets but putting them against gray walls is horrible. Should be beige or cream walls. It’s like they asked different people to design diff things and then slapped them together. Nothing is cohesive. Like I like the outside look concept art but it doesn’t tie in to the rest of the resort. It’s all well and good creating a decent looking hotel but if if clashes with its surroundings then it can look dreadful. It’s like they just gave some company the size and shape of the land and asked them to design a hotel for X amount of money with nothing mentioned about its surroundings. That’s NOT how to make money- it’s how to loose money.
@@michaelsullivan3581Times are tough Brayden. I think they should use the leftover Incredibles stickers on the Grand rooms. And you know the marble was old. Time to toss it like you would an old bottle of wine. Of course printed tile is expensive. They are doing great things with linoleum flooring. What do you expect for $1,000 per night? Get with the program.
@@clarkkent7973 it’s not exactly about what they used but the design. Why gray paint? It looked awful off white, cream or beige paint would have looked a lot better. Plus more in keeping with the hotel. Plus the disgusting tiles YES getting real marble to match would have been sooooo expensive. But why did they have to get a disgusting wood effect painted porcelain next to beautiful marble? Wouldn’t have cost any more to have get porcelain or ceramic tiles painted to look like marble. My mum has tiles in her newly fitted bathroom that look like marble but they are porcelain or ceramics, they weren’t expensive. Yes the bedrooms look soooooooooo much better. No problem with the bedrooms at all. But the common areas- they are destroying the look and feel with certain decisions they are making. Yes I like the new blue floral carpets but as I said above the gray paint on the wall next to them looks dreadful. It’s cold and depressing. Whoever is a making these decisions in a BAD interior designer.
Brayden I really think you are the best Disney reporter out there, you keep it real and passionate about what we all love about Disney without being too negative or bias, great job !!
Wow!! A 1.5+ hour Mickey Views special. We're honored. Thanks so much for your hard work and dedication to keeping your content fresh Brayden. Know that you are appreciated! ❤
The Grand is gonna turn in to the Contemporary in the way the different era themes clash. Contemporary has a retro 70s lobby, a weird Fantasia gift shop on the 4th floor and Incredibles "themed" rooms. What's happening to the Grand is just a shame.
I love that Disney is using grey. Especially since I get updates on interior design weekly. Grey is out. Color is coming back. Gotta love how Disney is always behind the curve, especially since they used to be the curve.
You'd think with how little money they want to spend they'd lean into the timeless designs instead of opting for color-of-the-week trends that necessitate constant updates
@@MickeyViews I truly miss the hardcore theming of the 90’s(my childhood). They really pulled me in and made me dream of working there. It was a dream come true when I did, and I want to see the same light in my kids eyes that I had. It’s just not the same anymore. I don’t know how things will turn out in the long run, and I will always hope and dream for the best.
45:55 you’re absolutely right. At some point Disney decided the corporate numbers people were more important than the creative people, on top of dismissing and losing so much of its creative knowledge-base through the unnecessary attrition of Imagineering especially. I don’t know if they can recover from this any time soon.
The cast members make the park. We find magic everytime. They are trying to get back to pre-pandemic times. It’s a lot of work due to the amount of employees not willing to work for the guests. It can be a bit expensive but that’s why families have always had to save up to go. It makes it special. Plus who knows how Florida has impacted how they can run
Braden you are so right on Disney”s direction. They have definitely lost their way in a lot of areas .Great insight on Disney’s lack of direction.Keep up the great podcast!!!!!!
I wish they still wanted me and everyone that used to support them. I think they just keep pricing everyone out and giving us less of why we go there. The whole point of staying at a DW resort was feeling like you were at DW and not at a normal fancy hotel. I can stay off resort property if I want that. They are just forcing that to happen. Why would I pay $100+ more a night just to save on parking? Which has gone up again. 😢 I love listening and watching you Brayden. Hope your move and life goes well!
@@rosalieercolino7042 More to your point, if you are staying off property, you can get a rental house for way less. Even less than a hotel off property. Every time we go to Orlando we get one, and the entire trip price is cut in half, only by not staying on-property. That is the entire trip is half the price, not just housing is half the price.
DISNEY HAS KILLED THE MAGIC IN EVERY POSSIBLE WAY!!! I AM BEYOND ANGRY! WALT WOULD NOT BELIEVE IT! I AM A SUCCESSFUL ARTIST, AND I DO GET IT! I GET WALTS VISION!!!
Our extended family of 12 spent a week in three rooms at Grand Floridian and we all, young and old, loved it! It was fancy, classy, comfortable, special. That was before the renovations. From what I am seeing, I will not be going back there and spending a fortune for generic room and an ugly main building. It won’t be special anymore. Same goes for the awful update at Boardwalk, which we used to really enjoy! You are so right in your observations.
The Grand Floridan getting rid of the band, ruining the floors, and adding *insert word of choice here* grey absolutely broke me! While I’ve never had the privilege of staying at such a resort seeing the classic charm just be ripped away instead of improved upon hurts my soul
One thing I can appreciate about Braeden, he is honest and he does not cut corners. When he said “it’s extortion” I almost spit my soda out😂😂😂. I have been following you for a few years now, keep up the great work.
Great video! Love your passion for the resort and genuine concern for the direction that they are heading in. I've been going at least once every year for the last 16 years, but we will be skipping in 2024. Our last trip was just last month and unfortunately it just feels like a lot about what makes WDW special is gone. From the de-theming to the nickel and diming throughout the parks, its just not the same. There has also been a very noticeable drop in quality of the merchandise, cleanliness and the maintenance of guest areas. And perhaps the most noticeable change was the most disheartening. For as long as I've gone to the parks, I have always marveled at the buy-in that they've gotten from cast members. It was truly remarkable. But now, the on-stage presentation of cast members is miles away from that. Conversations openly bashing guests and other cast members while complaining about their job, poor service to guests in need of help and a general feeling of laziness were commonplace. This is not to take away from the many cast members who do genuinely care, but they are much fewer than they had been previously. All of that is why we are taking a break in 2024 and will decide if we want to return in 2025 at a later date.
As a south Floridian born in the late 90s it was my DREAM to stay at the Polynesian especially bc I loved Lilo & Stitch. Now it just looks like it’s getting wiped of everything that made it unique. This is Disney World, if I wanted to stay at an unthemed hotel I’d go to a Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton. I’m in Disney and wanna see Disney’s version of luxury. Not a gentrified apartment complex. I never stayed at Grand Floridian but I can’t believe they got rid of an orchestra?? That sounds so magical and all the renovations look cheap af 😭 where is the opulence??? Also I don’t remember it (even though I went) The Millenium Celebration at Disney seemed like one of if not the best “anniversary/celebrations” WDW has ever had. It looks of its time but I love that. All the merch, promo, the big wand in Epcot. It was actually noticeable and a valid reason to celebrate. My family and even friends have some of the merch til this day like cups, shirts etc.
I love the shorter updates, but equally love this format. Keep up the great work! We’ve gone a bit sour on Disney, and I do hope they find their way again.
Well watch people that hype it rather than criticize it. Maybe a balance of both and that helps. Majority of the complaints have macro factors that has nothing to do with the day to day that made us fans. Find positives where you can.
Imagineering isn’t what you think it is today, they have a few people on staff and the rest are suits. Imagineering was gutted over a decade ago, and now resorts to using subcontractors within the Themed Entertainment industry. The real imagineering is done by those small studios such as Landmark, Sally, Garner Holt and Storyland Studios. I used to think that Imagineering lost its way, but it isn’t their fault, it’s just not what it used to be because of the company leadership.
Great stream, Brayden! You manage to stay positive even when delivering sad news. BTW, that Tiana mural is God awful. I’m a DVC member and not sure that we will be back to the parks. It’s sad to watch the decline.
Love that you're so passionate about the Grand Floridian! So many other WDW fans I know don't like the resort, and it's my favorite. I agree with everything you said.
I said it before and I'll say it again, yours is the only Disney related channel that I always watch what is posted. Quality over quantity is a mantra that you should never give up. That was a compliment to your videos in general not a slam on this video being longer as I thoroughly enjoyed it. Speaking of, chomping at the bit for another Address Unknown documentary.
It would be cool if Soarin’ had randomized trips similar to star tours. I believe there are dozens of combinations of experiences on there. Maybe not that many here, but would be cool to see other different parts of the world. But actual footage, no CGI.
The camera talk wasn't boring at all. I'm a nerd, so I like to learn new info as much I can, and I can honestly say that I learned alot about the importance of buying certain types of cameras for various reasons, so thank you for that. I also want to thank you for your research and honest opinion on certain matters. It is much appreciated.
Thanks for the breakdown of the superior Soarin' Over California! The scenes, transitions and score hit all the emotions. Disney knows "California" is better/more popular or they wouldn't bring it back for special events.
It may be unpopular but I like soarin over the world more, there are better scents in soarin over the world and you can tell the age of soarin over california, I actually find the transitions in the California version more jarring and patch worked together, it borders on nauseating also I like that there are different soarin versions on both coasts as well
i had the opposite happen with genie plus. I was in standby line for Frozen (estimated 50 min wait) ended up waiting 90 minutes because they only did the lighting lane, the standby line only moved after the lightining lane was completely done. I get they have to prioritize lighting lane, but having standby wait 10 times the amount is a little insane imo. their's no balance
20 minutes ago I could’ve cared less about the hotels at Disney World.. NOW come on Disney! Get your act together I live in San Diego, California, and that hotel was based on one of the most iconic hotels here on Coronado! it’s sad to see them getting rid of something so iconic and going with something so generic… The sad thing is the Disney company as a whole has lost its way… Disney used to innovate, create something that had never been seen before make new technologies. Now they just reproduce over and over again things that people have seen 1000 times. The creativity with these immersive atmospheres and beautiful design details is what made them stand out and what made the “magic”. It’s sad to see it gone.
Braydon!!! This was amazing! You really are rocking your “journalism”!! Your passion and excitement is contagious. Thank you for bringing all of this information. Going to rewatch it because it is so packed full! Keep up the incredible work. It is so appreciated!
1:06:42 I knew this was going to happen the instant lightning lane was introduced. People are enticed into the lightning lane with promise of a faster line experience, like they were wuth fastpass, so it gets backed up further and further until the lightning lane may as well be the standby, but the difference between this and fastpass is that fastpass was free so if people saw the fastpass was backed up they'd just use the standby line. Now that its something people pay for, they don't want to waste the money on a lightning lane they don't end up using.
I've been watching for a bit. I've never seen you get as animated as you did for the grand flo refurbishment. It was entertaining. I enjoyed this whole video.
Imagine how crowded the monorail will be with the new Poly DVC tower. ‘Ohana reservations? Oof that’ll be a nightmare. Forget about the tiki Polynesian village theming with that giant glaring building next to the longhouses. The footprint was way too small for such a huge tower in the first place. We’ll see how it looks when the facade is put up but as for now it’s a massive eye soar. It absolutely needs its own quick service, sit down dining and maybe even its own Pineapple Lanai stand otherwise the Ceremonial House will be even more jam packed than it already is, which I thought was already at its limit.
Brayden, you've nailed it once again. We used to stay at a Disney resort when we went. The theming, the extra park hours and the ability to use park transportation or even walk into the parks was all worth the extra price. However, the combination of increased prices for the Disney hotels, extra magic hours only being 1/2 hour for resort guests, the de-theming, mean it is no longer worth it. We are now passholders and when we go, we stay at one of the hotels at Flamingo Crossing. Also, the original Soarin' is SOOOOO much better than the new one. I made a point of heading to Epcot a couple of weeks ago just to ride it since the original one is back.
Brayden, thank you for this. I know this was a lot of work but this is some high quality stuff. It’s very rare you see quality like this in a Disney news update. In fact, I don’t know of any channels in this community that are to your level of cinematography. Not to mention, you aren’t afraid to share your own opinions which is very refreshing. I hope you do something like this every month!
Is it possible that they’re just getting the hotels, parks, and the rest ready for a potential buyer? You know like when you’re getting ready to sell your house and you do just enough to make a sale… Just a thought…
Film photography gear talk was actually my favorite part! I’ve mostly stayed with digital, but I now have my family’s old film camera and have started playing a bit with that!
Disney has no answer to Epic Universe. They're not even trying to respond. Attendance is down at Disney and they continue to raise prices on everything. Hope they've enjoyed that #1 attraction spot in Orlando because in the Summer of 2025 Epic Universe is going to kick Disney to the curb.
@@markgroglio9922 Yes, attendance is down (compared either to pre-pandemic or to 2022 attendance), but Lightning Lane, etc. will probably still result in long lines/the perception of crowding.
Can’t agree more with the resort theming disaster it is so upsetting specially the Floridian so frustrating need iger and vahle gone quickly before they totally destroy the property. Love your passion for it don’t ever apologize for it
The GF isn't getting dethemed; the new theme is "Wedding Guests." They want everyone who gets married at that chapel to invite their friends from all over, and they want those friends - who are 100% the people who complain about the rooms, not people who are actually there to visit the parks - to be mollified (for as little money as possible, of course).
We just went to DCA and Disneyland Oct 2 and 4 (respectively) and did not purchase Genie Plus or Lightning Lanes and rode almost everything (we skipped more kiddie rides like the jumping jellyfish, carousel, and dumbo - but did everything else). We had one long wait time at Big Thunder for 60 minutes, and that was because the ride broke down. Paid attention to wait times throughout the day a few weeks before actually going to the parks and so we came in with a strategy to avoid crowds and waited no more than 40 minutes for everything. Refuse to give in to the Disney money grab to ride rides.
So I don't understand, Reedy Creek is a special Disney district but they're hamstringing themselves with their own building code? Also, and maybe it's just not a good example, but there are amusement and theme parks around the country who have rides significantly older than 1964, and who have budgets that are infinitesimally small compared to Disney's, and still maintain those rides. Lagoon is a regional park in Utah, for example, and they continue to run and maintain a carousel from 1906
I hate to break this to you, Brayden, but those marble floors in the Grand Floridian are NOT Victorian. Even worse - for you - but those wooden floors you hate? They ARE Victorian. Parquet - flooring that consists of wooden slats in a geometric design - is probably one of the MOST Victorian design aesthetics. Check out a Victorian design and that's what you're going to see on the floor, often covered by a busy area rug. Marble floors - especially these colors - go further back to the Renaissance. Which means they are Baroque, not Victorian. Also, fleur-de-lys are decidedly not Victorian. In the Victorian Era, they were a French thing, or a thing of people with French heritage and I don't even know why they are here in this allegedly Victorian hotel. I say "allegedly" because the Grand Floridian is obviously based on the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego, with added bits from other very American hotels. The problem with using the word "Victorian" though, is the exteriors were Victorian but the insides often weren't. These stained-glass domes are a perfect example. True Victorian stained glass is far more "church-like" in nature. These "Tiffany-lite" domes became popular nearly a century after Victorian architecture was a thing, and they were mostly an American addition. None of this means the original designers got Victorian "wrong". As Disney does, they just took a bunch of inspirations and "borrowed" liberally from all of them. Just like no Disney castle is based on one real-world castle. I have never heard what specifically inspired that atrium carpet, but it's painfully obvious they "Disneyed" up the color scheme. It's appropriately busy for a Victorian carpet, but oh my gawd is it ugly. Between that and the marble "Oriental rugs", I'm a little surprised people think this is "classy". I'd call those things tacky. I have no idea why they chose to keep the hideous marble outlines, but the watercolor carpets are a vast improvement. Are they Victorian? No. But watercolors in the art world coincided with the Victorian Era, so they are a clever choice. The cool coloring is also a much better choice than the "warm" colors you like, Brayden. Because those colors actually clash with what's going on at the top of the atrium, as well as the alleged theme of this place. The stained glass domes read cool and actually remind me of seaside resorts in England. The wall colorings now feel more "beachy" than those too-bright yellows. With the obnoxious furniture - which was very Victorian - gone and the carpet covered in wood, this place already looks way better. An Oriental Rug may read "Victorian" but it does not read beach hotel. I'm also down with the lovely floral walls, which is far more Victorian than the stripey bland stuff they had going on around the elevators, and the coloring does still adhere to a beachy theme. I'm actually surprised to see this floral wallpaper because the Disney thing has been to remove anything with character from the walls. And that's where the problems start. The atrium was lovely all-white. But Disney can't have that! They also weren't going to add a bunch of colors to these hallways, because that's not what hotels do now. It's not Disney trying to be like everybody else. It's Disney being cheap... like everybody else. They go neutral so the next time they need an "update" all they have to do is change the paintings and maybe the carpets. I'm fine with the desaturated blues, very seasidey, but you are right, they make the halls too dark. But the worst "update" is those rooms. There is NOTHING Victorian in them. And it really wouldn't be hard to make them at least Victorian-lite while still sticking to this easy-to-update decorating plan. Flower-patterned curtains would be #1. The bolsters should be as well. The headboards should be tufted, not paneled. The paintings should be larger and stylistically match that floral wall (no need to re-wallpaper). Introduce the stained glass from the atrium domes into some light fixtures. And then they should tear down half the walls and turn these tiny things into human-sized rooms!!! Honestly, why are people paying top dollar to stay in this Barbie house???? Frankly, they deserve tacky and ugly.
I was worried about that orangeness remaining for the Tiana retheme, so thanks for that update. I was actually worried about this after seeing how they muffed the coloring of the soil in the Moana walkthrough. Heaven forbid Disney have to build anything with the color black in it!!!!
In period-accuracy terms you are correct. But in the context of this resort and the style Imagineers went with, it doesn't fit. The issue is those floors at GF you call "parquet" are low resolution wood photos printed on giant cheapo pieces of tile. Nobody's fooled. They're not parquet floors, they're square pieces of overstock tile with prominent grout lines. Modern Disney can't afford the skilled labor who can cut that many perfect miters, and if they went with real parquet flooring they'd drown it in a quarter inch of resin like they have their original wood and stone floors around property because they don't do proper upkeep. I think if Disney did a real parquet floor there as you suggest, it would look great because it would feel authentic. This update lacks that
Loved this report man, really sums up the state of the parks pretty well. I will say, glad you stopped by the Port Orleans but really wish you had some footage of "Yeeha Bob Jackson." That dude is basically the Port Orleans version of the Grand Floridan Orchestra. Would love to see some 4k footage of that guy man (especially since he is getting older but don't let that fool you) and I can't recommend the show enough, it is worth your time if you haven't already seen it. I only say time because the show is free to watch, first come first serve!
This was a very in-depth news update , wow Brayden! Loved the info you brought us about the Grand Floridian updates-showing us how they are even changing out the classic GF marble floors in certain places, just somewhat shocking to see. Thanks for the detailed reporting 👍
Your channel is criminally undersubscribed in my opinion. Massive fan of Orlando Florida, 6 time visitor (in my lifetime) from the UK. Love your content and levels of detail. Keep it up good sir!
Another fabulously informative video. And may I say thank you for showing just the food instead of being like so many other vloggers who make us endure their close up eating moments!
Totally agree about the dithering hotels. Four seasons should hire the grand floridian orchestra and pit them up in their hotel just to show up disney.
I agree with you Brandon I don’t know what they’re doing to the grand Floridian but it’s unrecognizable if they really had a brain they would make a beauty and the beast hotel turn The beast castle into a hotel and replicate the inside exactly
Brayden, don't consider that slide film roll a failure. Some of those images are incredibly cool, even with the messed up ghost sprockets. Consider selling those as prints, extending the print to include the outer sprockets. I think the effect for some of those images will be quite artistic!
I agree I refuse to EVER buy a lightening lane even though I only got to Disney every 5-10 years. It’s disgusting that Disney are charging people to go on a ride. Especially when till covid lightening lane has always been free.
Seriously, the unfortunate beef swap in the Satu’li Canteen bowl is news! That menu item had been on my bucket list for years, sigh. Btw those little orbs on the sushi are masago, a type of fish roe. Speaking of Japanese exports, I’m looking forward to seeing the fruits of your medium-format film camera mastery. And thanks in general for your high-quality content that’s astounding for only one person to have created. As I rewatched “The Imagineering Story” on Disney+ last weekend, it reminded me of your C.V. Wood documentary on Address Unknown. It’s a must-watch for any Disney fan.
Thanks for the great video! I agree with a lot of your opinions about the current state of Disney. Also loved seeing you take some time to show off your film gear. Very cool!!!
Wonder why you would move out of the Orlando area, when you specifically moved there a few years ago to be closer to everything you cover for your channel?
One thing I love about your videos is that you remind me why I love Disney & also make me question why I would want to go back with everything that's wrong & convinces me to travel elsewhere. And I really appreciate that.
Brayden, your assessment is spot on. The Disney name used to mean something special. However, Disney has destroyed their reputation, from the resorts to the parks to their movies that no one wants to see. They would rather self destruct than admit to a mistake
We were on vacation at WDW last February, and on our day at Hollywood Studio, FIVE rides were broken down or closed. No Slinky dog Dash, no Tower of Terror, no Rockin Rollercoaster, no Runaway Railway, and finally….no Rise of the Resistance. To make matters worse……NO REFUND!!!!
What's crazy, is everything you mention where Disney misses the mark, such as the Floridian, everyone feels the same way. But for some reason, Disney never ever listens to the costumer. So strange to me. They have no clue......
We recently stayed one night at the Boardwalk in a referbed room and I personally thought it was very nice, comfortable and accessible to the boardwalk. It's a great one night stay! I Highly recommend it.
Disney, for some reason, seems to be striving for mediocrity. Concerning the Floridian, it's sickening what it's becoming. Guests leave the grey/beige/blah world to come to Disney for colorful, fantastical, grand themed ambience. Not to come to dreary "elegance" for $500+ a night. Yes, Brayden... Disney could do soo much better. It's puzzling why they aren't. If only those in the decision making positions were passionate Disney fans.
I was there 3 weekends ago and I wasn’t able to rise soarin over Cali. We were only there 4 days and the line was always over an hour while we were there
Your spot on Brayden with beautiful marble inlaid design was gorgeous at the grand Floridian. Why do they constantly go to that design of furniture Generic. The flooring, a little soothing of the carpet it’s not, but I’ll wait till the final finish product.😢 That fake wooden tile looks horrible compared to the beautiful marble inlaid tile. I’ve never stayed at the grand Floridian, but I have went for tea with my daughters mother-in-law, aunts and friends. I still can remember hearing in the background, the orchestra playing how relaxed and laid-back it was having tea party. Excellent memories. I know things need to change but not everything should be changed that marble floor was something everybody was taking pictures of picking out details that they saw. You’re so right, Brayden about getting the genie plus. To think that you’re already paying a substantial amount of money to get into that park for each one of your family members and then Disney wants you to pay again to go stand in another line it’s supposed to be faster.😂 My question is this they say if you pay more money you get to ride rides faster. To me it just seems another way to extort money out of us. Disney has created mass chaos and charging us more money to get into the rides faster. It’s good to see you got some new toys to work you created side that peaks your interest. Your photos are magnificent. Keep up the great work. 👏🏼Thank you Brayden🫶🏻
Everything I said is factually the case, I wasn't painting a narrative or "passing the buck." The EPCOT Building Code predates the new board so if you're defensive of the new board you can take solace in knowing this has been a problem for the past decade. The new board is getting rid of the loopholes in the code enforcement though, so the prospects of attraction updates are being impacted by the new board, and that is not speculation.
Brayden's analyses are always the best! So much attention to detail and great footage, you can tell it must have taken so long to edit. And always looking so dapper with the suit jacket. Great job, thanks so much! ☺
Even though my family was staying elsewhere, we would still visit the other resorts in part because of their unique features. This also usually meant we were spending money on food, drinks and gifts from the shops. Last time I was at the Floridian it was nice sitting down, having a drink and just listening to the band.
Here it is: the feature-length Mickey Views News of your dreams. Enjoy! Sincerely, Brayden

Holy hour and a half, batman 😮
Great job! Good luck with your new venture!
Braden,
Can you provide a link to your Address Unknown UA-cam site? I couldn’t find it.
Brayden you are 100% correct about the detheming of the resorts. Anyone who disagrees is wrong. I can’t believe what they are doing.
Yup! Detheming or mal-theming! Just plain blasphemy!
Get with the program.
Things needed to replaced. It is cheaper just to paint over it with gray paint. It is cheaper to use simulated wood than new marble.
1000% agree on your comments regarding the Grand Floridian. Bravo. Needs to be said and repeated often. Same with the Contemporary and Polynesian.
The new Polynesian DVC is the worst eye sore ever. Next up, casinos and strip clubs.
Disney needs to hire Brayden as a consultant!
Then he would not be "unbiased". Plus, they watch him, I guarantee.
47:15 I love when you go off on Disney about stuff like this! Don’t hold back. Speak from the heart. Makes me love you even more, Brayden. 🤟🏼
True. Gray is out.
Yes, grey really sucks the life out of a room.
Anyone that has been looking for a new house in the last 5+ years have grey walls overload. It’s overkill and can’t stand it!
45:55 you’re absolutely right. At some point Disney decided the corporate numbers people were more important than the creative people, on top of dismissing and losing so much of its creative knowledge-base through the unnecessary attrition of Imagineering especially. I don’t know if they can recover from this any time soon.
Sadly, no more vacations to the House of Mouse. It's getting way too expensive.
Same here my rent doubled in two years - tucson Arizona 🌵
The cast members make the park. We find magic everytime. They are trying to get back to pre-pandemic times. It’s a lot of work due to the amount of employees not willing to work for the guests. It can be a bit expensive but that’s why families have always had to save up to go. It makes it special. Plus who knows how Florida has impacted how they can run
This is hands down the best theme park news channel, you can’t convince me otherwise
90 mins on a Sunday evening! It's like Wonderful World of Disney (old TV show) all over again😊
I miss those Sundays

Braden you are so right on Disney”s direction. They have definitely lost their way in a lot of areas .Great insight on Disney’s lack of direction.Keep up the great podcast!!!!!!
They’re not lost. They’re intent on erasing the old Disney. Yet riding on its old brand till the wave flattens.
I love listening and watching you Brayden.
“What makes Disney, Disney”
Unfortunately, that standard is long gone.
"firstly, i do have a life" was so funny lololol
The honest and open news and information is the reason I watch you and WDW News. Keep up the great work.
I thought that. It looked really modern and rough. Is it culturally relevant for the time period? If so, I'll get used to it.
@@orangewheelie not from what I’ve heard.
@orangewheelie I thought it looked very Mardi Gras
Love that you're so passionate about the Grand Floridian! So many other WDW fans I know don't like the resort, and it's my favorite. I agree with everything you said.
This has to be one of the best news focused DW channels love this style so professional keep it up 👍
Your undying love for this dying park is admirable…
I said it before and I'll say it again, yours is the only Disney related channel that I always watch what is posted. Quality over quantity is a mantra that you should never give up. That was a compliment to your videos in general not a slam on this video being longer as I thoroughly enjoyed it. Speaking of, chomping at the bit for another Address Unknown documentary.
It would be cool if Soarin’ had randomized trips similar to star tours. I believe there are dozens of combinations of experiences on there. Maybe not that many here, but would be cool to see other different parts of the world. But actual footage, no CGI.
"It's like the company hates themselves." How true a statement that is, across the entire corporation.
Brayden went surprisingly easy on the Tiana murals
I'm honestly glad you aren't more like WDWnews. They spend so much time talking about minor changes like paint or a new sign.
They talk about both major and minor things though…
@@FG_Man I didn’t say they didn’t.
Well they make a living doing it so that's why.
They're both good for different reasons.
After seeing pictures of the Sphere in Vegas, the updates to the EPCOT ball seem so WIMPY
Thanks for the breakdown of the superior Soarin' Over California! The scenes, transitions and score hit all the emotions. Disney knows "California" is better/more popular or they wouldn't bring it back for special events.
Does "All around the world" not have scents as part of the movie? The scents in Soarin' Over California made the ride in my opinion.
It may be unpopular but I like soarin over the world more, there are better scents in soarin over the world and you can tell the age of soarin over california, I actually find the transitions in the California version more jarring and patch worked together, it borders on nauseating also I like that there are different soarin versions on both coasts as well
Such a shame seeing Disney losing the magic
i had the opposite happen with genie plus. I was in standby line for Frozen (estimated 50 min wait) ended up waiting 90 minutes because they only did the lighting lane, the standby line only moved after the lightining lane was completely done. I get they have to prioritize lighting lane, but having standby wait 10 times the amount is a little insane imo. their's no balance
when LL is super backed up, they do 1 standby guest per every 100 LL. 😳
Frozen and Splash Mountain were the worst for the lightning lane included in the Genie+ version, there are others too but those stood out to me
20 minutes ago I could’ve cared less about the hotels at Disney World..
Brayden….another outstanding news piece!!! Thank you!!! 😊
Got to love a man with such passion for his craft!
Entirely possible. Maybe they’ll move to the third party operator format Universal uses
Film photography gear talk was actually my favorite part! I’ve mostly stayed with digital, but I now have my family’s old film camera and have started playing a bit with that!
Dude.... Those pink watercolor flower carpets give me Golden Girl vibes in all the wrong ways.
Great video. I love hearing your opinions on what's going on at the parks! You do a great job giving the logistics and analysis
I'm LOVING Brayden's little rants about the Grand Floridian's generic look!
Grand Floridian=Design on a Dime
I appreciate the hotel rant. Disney used to be all about the details, and we loved them for that.
Is attendance really down? Should I expect barely any crowds next week?
I hear attendance is down but at the same time I hear lines are ridiculously long. Both can’t be true at the same time
@@markgroglio9922Disney parks are extremely packed. I was just there last week and the lines were huge
Universal also raises their prices yearly
@@markgroglio9922 Yes, attendance is down (compared either to pre-pandemic or to 2022 attendance), but Lightning Lane, etc. will probably still result in long lines/the perception of crowding.
i 100% agree with you on the grand floridian!!!
Very good point. I hope they enjoy their $1.6K room that’s the same look and amenities as a $280 room a couple miles away hahaha
WoW a 1 hour and 33 minutes long video!! I’m not going to bed early today 😄
Lagoon is a regional park in Utah, for example, and they continue to run and maintain a carousel from 1906
I love the Carousel of Progress. It's a great place to rest and enjoy some nostalgia during the heat of the afternoon
This update lacks that
I remember watching when moving to Orlando was only a goal of yours, now you’re doing full scale projects! Long time viewer and will continue to be!
My “thumbs up” can’t be BIG ENOUGH! Braydon, you are brilliant and talented and we LOVE your beautiful videos!
Great job Brayden 👍😃 You never disappoint on keeping us updated and informed on what Disney is doing. Thanks for sharing 🤗♥️
I watch every second of your videos multiple times. They are always great.
Thanks for the great video! I agree with a lot of your opinions about the current state of Disney. Also loved seeing you take some time to show off your film gear. Very cool!!!
That mural is rough
Totally spot on that the details are why we loved Disney 😢😢😢
Wonder why you would move out of the Orlando area, when you specifically moved there a few years ago to be closer to everything you cover for your channel?
One thing I love about your videos is that you remind me why I love Disney & also make me question why I would want to go back with everything that's wrong & convinces me to travel elsewhere. And I really appreciate that.
Excellent video! Thanks for all the updates and sharing your passion for photography. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for all the updates! :D
Brayden, your assessment is spot on. The Disney name used to mean something special. However, Disney has destroyed their reputation, from the resorts to the parks to their movies that no one wants to see. They would rather self destruct than admit to a mistake
Great job, Brayden! Thanks for the transparency and sincerity. I agree with you with all! Great camera gear!
This felt like a throwback to the long form magic weekly episodes!!!!
Imagineers of old truly valued the details, and the magic is born in the details.
The new poly tower looks amazing! It’s going to be a great addition to the poly and the lake!
Those orange orbes are fish eggs (roe) and a classic sushi roll standard.
41:15 I'm with you 100%. They really dropped the ball on this refresh. Welcome to Marriott on Bay Lake...
Now come on Braden...Disney has allowed their older attractions to rot for decades now. Blaming Reedy Creek is really passing the buck.
